Talking about the website itself, do some folks really have an issue with it?
The website itself is fine. It could be designed much better. HOWEVER. . .(you knew it was coming)
One has to ask why is it designed so poorly.
The site claiming to be the "official" site has no "about us." It's not linked to any official organization, etc. We learned it is owned by someone who is connected to the benefactor, so it is most likely the legit "official" page. But anybody just coming across it can not tell that just by looking at the site. As far as they know it was just created by anybody.
Next, the reward. There are no conditions. That makes me question it's legitimacy. They can put whatever they want as a reward amount, but without the conditions clearly laid out, it is bogus and can't be enforced. RR spoke to this. . .he said that is the case and that the money is not in any account set up as a trust, which is how it is supposed to be done with missing rewards.
Nowhere on the site is the tip phone number listed. It is hidden in a link and it is on the pdf folder. Some people can't open pdf's and clicking on links on a website can identify you. If they really want someone to feel comfortable calling in an anonymous tip, the number should be listed on the site. . .no link clicking.
The pictures and videos are "coming soon." There is just no excuse for this. There are hundreds of pictures of Lisa on the web and the videos are on YouTube. They are readily available to anybody that wants access to them. Just do ONE simple Google search and the webmaster would have all the material they would need for that page.
And lastly, the owner of this site also owns another site. His other site comes up as number 2 under a simple Google search for the subject. It is second to a wiki page for the same subject. Number 2 is dang good! He must know a thing or two about Google Search and driving traffic to his site. This Lisa Irwin site. . .the night it went up came up on page 7 for "Lisa Irwin" Google search. Today. . .I went through 30 pages of Google search and still couldn't find it. 30 PAGES!!!! Who the heck is going to Google "Lisa Irwin" and page through 30+ pages of search results (not actual websites. . .30 actual pages of Google search. . .with 10 sites on each search page.) That's 300+ websites and I still didn't find it. Who knows how much further I had to keep going. To me, that's intentional. It's buried on purpose. . .there is no other explanation why it would be soooo far back on the search engine. Especially, considering this guy owns a website that comes up as #2.
ETA-Make that ALL 43 pages. . .it doesn't come up at all when searching "Lisa Irwin"
