An indoor training area at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center is expected to be turned into a 350-bed medical facility beginning on Tuesday, USTA spokesman Chris Widmaier confirmed.

The USNS Comfort, a hospital ship with approximately 1,000 patient beds, will dock in the harbor to alleviate the strain on the city's hospitals.

The ship will be used to treat less critical patients and those who have not been infected with the virus in order to free up space in hospitals, which have become overrun with COVID-19 patients.

At a press conference, Mayor Bill de Blasio said watching the ship arrive was a "very emotional moment" and called it "a beacon of hope."

"Help has come. Relief is on its way," de Blasio said. "There have been times in recent days when a lot of New Yorkers have felt alone. … I want to say to all New Yorkers you are not alone."

Empire State building lights up like an ambulance for medical workers in NYC

"NEW YORK CITY -- The Empire State Building is honoring workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic.

The top of the iconic building was adorned in red, and surrounded with revolving red and white lights to resemble an ambulance and siren.

The lights will continue every night through the crisis as a "Thank you" to all the brave health care workers and first responders.

There was also a music and light show accompanied by the Alicia Keys' song "Empire State of Mind.""

We are praying for you New York!

Cuomo presser highlights:

*Follow projections of the experts, data and science.
*More emotionally tired than physically. Tired of being behind this virus
*We underestimated this virus.
*Plan forward/ anticipate and plan for the next battle. (The APEX!)
*Gathering equipment needed for later battle.
*Social acceptance of time expectations. Nobody knows when over.
*I can say this - it's not going to be soon."

*We are dealing with a war. We need a new/different mindset in healthcare. Need it now. Healthcare needs to work as an entirety.

*We need to get ahead of the virus.
*Need a fast-track test/ and at-home test. And anti-body testing.

*Staying at home. It's not just your life you're playing with. This virus is the great equalizer. "You are not superman."

**His brother Chris, CNN commentator is positive for CV. :(

Gov Cuomo's brother Chris, CNN commentator, has tested positive for CoVid19. :(

Gov calls Chris his best friend.

Chris quarantining in his basement. "Even the dogs won't come down to visit him."

Gov prevented their mom (Mathilda) from visiting, thankfully.

More from Cuomo:

1) Individual discipline - stay at home. It's hard but we have to do it. We know what to do.

2) Government skill and performance. Learn your job and learn it quickly.

3) National unity. NY needs help now. We will pay for healthcare workers who can come here now. Then we will return the favor and come help you. Virus attacks all Americans - no time for political divisions.

Gov Cuomo/NY:

Q: When will the Apex hit in NYC & NYS as a whole?

A: There are 5 models that we look at as to when the Apex will hit

No 2 models are the same

The range of those models are Apex will hit 7 to 21 days from now
