I don't think details are necessary, though I have seen it done with much younger children than sixteen. As I said earlier, it can be taped or done via camera. But the court will need to know what happened to her in order to make the appropriate charges and at some point, she may have to tell a jury. I know it is awful, but also, it sometimes seems to me that we make the crimes against the victim even more shameful by being so secretive about them, i.e. It should not be shameful to a victim in any way if they are assaulted, yet it is common practice to keep names out, etc which , Imo, makes it seem like the victim should be ashamed.
My niece was drugged and raped and had no,qualms about telling what this person did to her. She knew it was not a reflection of her or her choices. Anyway...sorry for the tangent. Jmo
