From what I understand, he was on Hayward St in Manchester from 1977 until the three of them left in Dec. 1981.
Whether or not he traveled during that time for any length of time is unknown. My theory is he was at another mill shut down before he came to NH in 1977, and that was in the more northern climate where the middle child was. I think the four followed him to NH and he killed them shortly after, and he stored their bodies in the basement of Hayward, like he did Jun. Then he dumped them in the barrels in Bear Brook before he left NH.
This theory was brought by me and is in more length discussed in thread one.
For few month now I can't shake a feeling of Hayward house importance in this case...
We don't know what led to his job at Waumbec. As I theorized earlier, folks who do/did mill shut downs pretty much followed the circuit, like someone would follow other transitory jobs like a fair or circus. It's possible RE was just going from shut down to shut down at that point.
Investigators believe the name Robert Evans was an alias. I don't think employment records for the mill are still in existence, but if they are, I'm sure investigators are pouring over them, or have already done that. They have been in touch with his former boss (who was also the owner of the Bear Brook store and owns the land upon which the barrels were found).
Either Robert Evans was a real electrician whose identity this guy stole, or he made up the name & the mill didn't check his references or background. It's also possible that he worked for a company that was contracted out by the mill and didn't work for them directly. He may have worked for a third party company that specialized in shut downs, and they would have been the ones to check his background, or not. My old landlord was a welder who did shut downs back in the 90s and she worked for a contractor that mills hired to do it, she didn't work for the actual mill. When they were done, they went on to the next job.
I put the feelers out to my union brothers and sisters in the Manchester area to see if they worked at the mill and maybe recalled this guy (I belong to an electrical workers union). Some of them are old timers and have been around a bit. Haven't heard back.
From what I recall, RE was a drunk, so most likely he drank his money away come payday.
I don't think we've gotten a timeline yet of RE & Denise's relationship. All we know is that Dawn isn't his daughter.
Thinking about Hayward house and RE for few month I came up with very simple theory. As we all are creatures of habit, we mostly repeat what we do or how we do it. Please let me know what you think.
Imagine RE once again living in RV park. This time in Bear Brook/Allenstown. He once again bargain to get cheaper accommodation and some odd jobs around there. He approaches shop owner and offers his services (electricity job, fixing things, maintenance etc) in exchange for free/discounted stay or some cash. Shop owner is happy with his little jobs, they build rapport, probably have a drinks now and then together and shop owner propose - do you want to work for me? I happen to be in charge of electricity department of Waumbeck Mill in Manchester (this is true, he was RE boss in W.Mill).
They shake hands, RE gets a job in Waumbeck Mill, gets his money, in few month moves in to Hayward house in Manchester.
With regards to timeframe - RE usually stayed in RV parks 2 to 6 month as far as I remember, so if this scenario is probable, it would be around 1976 or early 1977 that he stayed or lived in Bear Brook/Allenstown.
I know Oakhill have done extensive research on that place (I think years around 1985) and even though I have previously thought this could be possibly only dumping ground, I am no longer so sure. Could they contact they contacts and research 1976, but more importantly 1977 if they think this could be viable?
I am not really sure yet how I would fit 4 victims around this timeframe as I have concentrated mainly on how RE got the house and the job but I assume possibilities are endless (from dumping them there already around 76/77 or getting them to move with him to Hayward house from there and dumping them later. Possibly RE having his own little daughter around helped him to secure this better job through shop owner and consequently also getting good house). Nobody remembers them because we have perhaps looked into wrong years and wrong place?
All above are just my thoughts, not a facts! (which I based on some of RE known repeated behaviour )
