Hey you never know she very well may have been that lady at that Star Wars convention with her daughter.

Found someone who did a side by side comparison of the two women. Not sure how many of you have seen the Star Wars photo but I believe it has been around on the net for over a year now. It was probably taken at one of the Star Wars movies they have released over the past several years. This photo was a close up but the original photo has stormtroopers standing in front of them.

Interesting but I have to disagree with you there. I think unfortunately Maura is dead and her dad Fred has known this for years. You might be right but I do not think so logic would say she is dead. I will give you a name Ralph Jackson. Cheers.

Yeah and I am not saying I think for sure that was Maura but you do have to admit the lady does resemble her. And the theory that it is her is just as credible as most all the other theories that are out there and if she did have a kid in the year or two following her disappearance the kid would be about the same age as the one in the photo seems to be.

Thanks for the input. I agree it looks a little like her but I don think it is because in my opinion she loved her family too much too disappear for so long with out contact. I know it does happen but this is my opinion in this case and the same applies to me in the Brianna Maitland case with the supposed photo at the casino. People look alike certainly within races and even outside as we sometimes joke that someone who is Mexican or African might look like one of our relatives for instance. For example how many little girls look similar to Madeleine McCann. Cheers.

Cheers. I know it does happen and I have watched at least one crime documentary where it did. I feel it is unlikely though. I have put my suspect forward for being the Connecticut River Killer and hence operating to 2010. You might be right though and she is still alive.

Good stuff and investigative work. My feeling is though nasty as it might sound is she is dead after foul play at the hands of another but all of our theories have their validity. I think you just have to be careful if her family are reading because like Fred Murray most of those will likely think she was a victim of foul play and we have to be careful not to get their hopes up without any real evidence.

The image/video has been around on social media for almost two years now. If the family pays attention to social media stuff regarding the case I'm sure they have seen the video already. Would be impossible anyway to find out if that was really Maura or not as the only context to the video clip was that it was at a Star Wars event and a jump scare joke was being played on the two people in the video. You can't even say for sure if the video was made in the U.S. as Star Wars is released all over the world.

If it was made outside of the U.S. though that may increase the likelihood that it was Maura as if she was going to disappear and start a new life leaving the country would probably be one of the things she would do.

If she did infact disappear of her own will (now granted I still think it is highly unlikely but the possibility is out there) its definitely not her immediate family helping her out. If they were helping her out they would be lying low and not saying much. Some of her friends from school though could be a possibility as they have seemed to be much more quiet regarding the case.

Now again I still think it is highly unlikely she has been able to stay hidden for fifteen years but it is possible and given the fact that she didn't seem to have all that many possessions at the time she vanished it wouldn't have been nearly as difficult for her to do it than it would have if say she was in the working world and had a significant amount of money in the banks.

Also, it seems rather unlikely that if Maura was alive, she'd put her family through this ordeal. It's not out of the realm of possibility, but Maura had everything at her fingertips. She didn't leave without reason. For all intents and purposes, unless proven otherwise, Maura is no longer amongst us. I personally think she met with foul play and a killer is still on the prowl. We need to conduct a search farther outside the search radius of which the five were done in the previous years.

@jaejae all that guy is is just someone who pays attention to the facebook page. Basically just someone who volunteered to help out with it. No different then people who volunteer to be administrators on forums. A video where a person whose job it was to investigate this type of stuff would be worth watching. Videos like this though are no different than the MMM guys-people who are trying to get themselves involved through social media even though they have no credentials to be involved-

True Crime is a bit of an addiction and a lot of these people just want to feel like they are a part of it so they hop on youtube or facebook…...or whatever social media avenue they prefer......and start acting like they are involved. To be honest for your own sanity it is probably better to stop listening to these podcasts as 99% of them are completely worthless and the only thing they will accomplish is in taking over your life.

There is nothing wrong with being interested in it but there are a lot of people and channels that you just need to avoid (people who try to act like they are involved in the investigation because they run a youtube channel or are an administrator of a facebook page are some of those types that need to be avoided). Also there should be a good medium about it. JaeJae is right. Why are you on a site like Websleuths of all places lecturing people on what they should and shouldn't do in regards to true crime? It's frankly none of your business what people do with their own time, and you've been doing this exact thing throughout this thread and possibly earlier ones. I haven't touched most of the Maura Murray media, haven't watched a single episode of Missing Maura Murray or read Renner's book but it's not my concern what others do. It's against the TOS here to tell others what to do and how to post.

Also the guy that made that video is in contact with the family and has been to the crash site and general area several times so he is more worth listening to than 99% of this thread including you. He's not going to solve the case i don't think JaeJae was suggesting that but he could be helpful for beginners to the case in summarizing the facts and describing the general area.
