Like your way of thinking except I am not sure he is local I do think he comes to AC during warm months and I feel sure he docks a boat at casino

I think the killer may stay at the Borgata I think u are right he transports his victims in his van The hotel should have reviewed tapes to see if those women were there but I guess they did not. He poses them north?? Still do not know that one

I believe this is the case . Someone who uses the computer frequently , stays in AC in summer maybe has a boat initials jb. Dislikes women not in relationship holds stable job neat organized likes control hates to lose

Did I miss something upthread? Why do we assume his initials are JB?

I wanted to link to a breaking story of another young woman who went missing in October 2015. Her remains were found this past Monday, January 11, 2016 in Woodstown. According to some reports she may have been spotted in Atlantic City around November. There are a great number of sleuths here who are great at putting clues and events together so I thought I'd share.

Really wish my sisters murder was focused on more in the documentary on a and e.
There's definitely a connection to the killings of the 4 girls killed in AC.

I agree with you about the connection. Still think it's someone local. The show did at least bring attention to your sister's tragedy. It was encouraging to see how your family and friends have bonding together. Hopefully the show will prod LE to work a bit harder to solve her case.

I wonder about that as well Joe. She was similar age, brown hair, white and said to be living in a motel in West Atlantic City at the time.

I would never rule out a connection to either the murder of Tara Rogers-Alicea or the West Atlantic City serial murders, without more definitive information.

Murder by asphyxiation isn't easy and often is accompanied by blunt force trauma. Every victim's will to fight and survive is different. I've seen pictures of Joyce and she looked to be both physically fit and scrappy.

You have to look at it from the killer's POV...

If the victim is putting up a fight and is capable of either injuring me or escaping me, I have to neutralize her by any means necessary. Both physical injuries and talking witnesses will get me caught and then my fun is over.

It is much easier to strangle a drugged out prostitute, especially one whose poison of choice already makes her lethargic.

My 5 second research of Joyce Vanderhoff's social media pages tells me that she lists herself as being from West Atlantic City, which of course is where the Golden Key motel is located; the dumping site for the "Eastbound Strangler," killer of 4 drug addicted prostitutes.

This may mean absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things, but it's worth a peek. Also, per her facebook page and the accounts of a few who knew her, Joyce was a troubled young lady and an addict or recovering addict, which fits the victimology of all too many victims of serial sexual murder and was central in the West AC killings. I also witnessed some bipolar/manic attributes on there, which of course drug abuse can magnify.

She also listed herself as unemployed, so I'm curious as to whether or not she might have been supplementing her income and/or ability to purchase her fix in other ways. That would give her two things in common with the victims in West AC.

Now one more thing of note:

Victim Tara Rogers-Alice's, who was found partially buried in a suitcase, behind the old Shore Mall, was ruled to be strangled to death. She was also known to live in Atlantic City and was struggling with a heroine addiction. She disappeared on or around Oct 22.

This is significant to me, because this would be around the same month/time of the year that at least 2 or 3 victims were last seen, back in 2006.

Serial killers find date and anniversaries to be of the utmost importance.

Obviously it's too soon to link anything, but I hope law enforcement is at least considering the possibilities.

All too frequently, these girls remain as forsaken and cast aside in death, as they were in life.
I can tell you that Joyce was not from west Atlantic City. She was raised by her grandmother and grew up very normal. She was struggling with a heroin addiction and she also liked her cocaine. Yes she did prostitute. However 2 days before she was murdered she was in my room in tears her father was supposed to pick her up. She had to report to probation that Friday, the Friday she was found. She was very dope sick and desperately wanting him to show up so she could get out of the budget and try and get clean. The have arrested the man that killed her. I thank God for that. She was just a kid. She had a beautiful soul and would help anyone I know that first hand. I'll always remember her and I pray that people look past the fact that any of the girls were on drugs. They were someone's daughter, mother, sister and friend

Diving back into the LISK case after a sizable break away from it got me to thinking about this poor girl. Not a lot has been said, as far as the circumstances surrounding her suspected murderer's capture go, but hopefully the right guy is off the streets and Joyce's family and friends can find some solace in that.

LE should be combing through the suspect's past with a fine tooth comb to see if he's a possibility for the West AC murders.

Man is sentenced to prison for killing woman after eluding authorities for 5 years

A man who dodged authorities for five years after strangling a woman to death in New Jersey in 2014 has been sentenced to 55 years in state prison.

Timothy Wright, 42, of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, will have to serve 46 years, nine months before he is eligible for parole, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said Friday.

Wright strangled and killed Joyce Vanderhoff on Feb. 13, 2014, authorities said. Her body was found on the side of Weymouth Road in Hamilton Township, Atlantic County the next day.
