During Wednesday's hearing, prosecutors showed several videos of McAtasney’s talking to investigators in the days after Stern disappeared, saying he intentionally mislead authorities.

"I just know she's been trying to get away, been telling me she's moving to Canada," McAtasney said in the footage taken from police body cameras. "I mean, I know that her dad has taken money from her in the past. I think her mom was supposed to leave her money or something. I know she definitely has a lot of trust issues with her dad, so I've been trying to help out with that."

All untruths. I'm saying this as someone who knows. If you were to Google Psychopath and read the description of their pathology, it fits perfectly with Liam's actions, background and behavior. If his lips are moving he is lying. All he feels is his own pain, sadness, and well-being, not others. He is devoid of the ability to empathize. He's not crazy, he's very dangerous. Informant should be relieved he has been denied bail. ..

Happy Friday One and All,

Please let's not get rumors started about Liam's twin Seamus.

Only post factual information please when it comes to discussing Seamus and only discuss Seamus when relevant to this case.

Thank you,
Tricia

Judge reviews Snapchat, Video Evidence

"Liam McAtasney sent a Snapchat message to the unnamed friend, who helped authorities record conversations with McAtasney, alerting him about the mounting investigation into Stern's disappearance."

Moriarty is seeking to have the video excluded from the trial, arguing in court papers that the acquaintance who secretly recorded it was acting as an agent of the police and, because McAtasney was represented by an attorney at the time, he should not have been questioned about the murder.

Superior Court Judge Richard W. English said he will view the recording, on which Liam McAtasney reportedly talks about the murder, in his chambers, with prosecutors, defense attorneys and a court stenographer present.

Detective Brian Weisbrot of the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office also will be in the judge's chambers to put things in context.

The parties are expected to assemble in English's chambers shortly.

well, yeah, no matter how badly we want the bad guy to go down, there are laws and rules that must be followed.

I'm still here, very much appreciating the posts, very little to add. Such a sad, sad story.

Secret confession to Sarah Stern's murder on the docket

The secret videotape promises to be damning evidence. Prosecutors want to play it at McAtasney’s trial for Stern’s murder. But McAtasney’s attorney is trying to prevent them.

Now, the case is on the docket Thursday, when attorneys will present their final arguments on the matter to the judge, and he is expected to issue his decision.

The parties will assemble at 9 a.m. at the Monmouth County Courthouse in Freehold.

A judge ruled a jury can hear statements Liam McAtasney made in early December 2017 to police who were investigating the disappearance of Sarah Stern, but attorneys will have to wait to find out if the judge will allow the jury to view a videotape of McAtasney reportedly confessing to the murder.

Judge English scheduled a conference in the case for March 26 and said he would issue his written opinion on the admissibility of the videotape and other conversations McAtasney had with Curry sometime before the conference.

Hasn't the Judge been pondering this for a while now? ! Anybody have some thoughts on why Judge English is drawing this out?
