I re-read the linked story again. For me there is a disconnect between what the grandparents and close family friend are saying? If hey saw her every day how would they not know he was babysitting Victoria for a month? Didn't even know who he is but lives in the same apartments. Did they just see her at the trash bin everyday? I mean really. What about the counseling she was in? Did they not know she was receiving or why?Very confusing.
 
There seems to be a little disconnect with Michelle's ex-boyfriend, too. Earlier he said she was not a monster, but in a recent article he said he did his best to protect both kids when he lived with her. Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but whom did he need to protect them from?
 
I have followed this case, will see it through for justice for these children. I have been thinking. If I were a parent, and my kid did things like that to my grandchildren, I would be a witness for the prosecution if possible. I would not testify for my daughter (past tense). She would be on her own. There is no excuse. They need to rot or worse. Monsters. All three. MOO

Victoria Martens was remembered by family, friends, community members and strangers at Copper Pointe Church. They shared memories of her life and tried not to think of her horrific death.

Warning this article is very heartbreaking. I hope and pray Victoria will be remembered for the good times in her short life and not the suffering and tragic end to it. May Victoria Martens Rest In Peace.
 
She was required to go to counseling due to the teacher reporting neglect earlier.
 
I still can't wrap my mind brain around how no one suspected there was something more horrible than neglect going on in the Martens' home. I'm not an expert in sexual abuse, but wouldn't there be signs like a change in the child's behavior? Also, since the teacher suspected neglect, why was Victoria sent to a counseling center that specializes in abandonment issues vs. taking a much closer look at the person responsible for the neglect? This makes no sense to me at all.

Thanks for sharing this. If they find evidence on those devices, and I suspect they will, I hope the time on that charge is added to their murder sentences rather than concurrent. None of them should ever be allowed to see the light of day again.
 
Thinking of Victoria as the holidays approach. Sorry you were taken so soon. No worry or pain in heaven.. Rest with the angels..
