What happens in Las Vegas stays in Las Vegas, I guess. There's a desert full of proof of that. You'd think that the PD would provide information in the clothing tags, and so forth. I mean, I guess if you knew where to buy a trench coat in Las Vegas you could go out and buy one, but there's probably not a high demand for them. Seems much likelier that our UID brought all those clothes with him. Be nice to know the manufacturers of the other items, too.
Otherwise, all we've got is conjecture on the origins. He could be an accountant from New Jersey who got himself in trouble and in desperation tried to make up the loss by hitting the casinos. Seiko doesn't exactly scream "high roller." He might have gotten rid of his ID in order that his family could eventually get him declared dead and collect on an insurance policy. He might have had his family threatened to force him to come to Vegas so that "justice" could be exacted in a location where the solution to the liquidation would be less likely. If he was, perhaps it was thought best to get rid of him in a manner that would certainly inspire a newspaper report that could be clipped and sent to interested parties. Who knows? You'd think that with all these personal articles, and not much time elapsed from his conjectured suicide to when he was discovered, we'd have more info to go on.
If he was from Europe, Monaco was closer at hand. If he flew to Vegas to make a desperate bid to mend his fortunes from Europe, he was probably contemplating suicide in the event of failure when he departed. Without more information, there's no way of guessing the likelihoods. I mean, there are lots of Italianate looking men from Argentina. I like to imagine that the authorities in Vegas did the fundamental research, because they did bother making a life sketch and all, but I really can't say. If they're interested in solving this, they should release more info, IMO. They might just be going through the motions, hoping to avoid negative publicity. There's just not a lot to go on.
