He made sure to drive away so that she could not video his license plate. Otherwise why didn’t he just drive straight rather than back up and go beside her. I wonder if she tried to video tape him as he went by the side of her car?
MOO!
But now that they know when this woman was harassed, Walmart may have video with his license plate.

She was not actually in the Walmart parking lot. She went past the Walmart and turned into the Daehan Solutions parking lot, which is either beside, or appears to be across the street from Walmart. Walmart has about a dozen cams on top of their building, but not sure any have the range or resolution to tell much about this encounter, sadly. JMO

I feel it was totally planned. But I'm not convinced he did it alone. And I'm not convinced she died that day. Him not being charged for murder could that mean the autopsy showed she died while he was in custody?

Fernley - Google Maps

When you drive on I 80 Past Lovelock correction center and turn right onto Coal Canyon Rd (396), you will drive past the entrance of Lovelock correction center (Prison Road).
Surely there must be cameras at the entrance to Prison Rd?
And TD must know that Lovelock correction center is there?
Even if he left her 60 miles further down Coal Canyon Road, that's a huge risk driving past Prison Road.
Especially if he did that in her car. Her car stands out I guess? Never mind risking that car breaking down near that facility or in the middle of nowhere. He would have to call someone if it did. And they could pinpoint him to her car.

The Lovelock Prison is not right next to Coal Canyon Road

The leading edge of the Prison parking lot is about 1.7 miles from Coal Canyon Road. Their security cameras are not going to capture much detail from that distance.

Re the cleaned up video from the GH show: The woman in her car must’ve been terrified, but she stayed calm & kept her wits about her. In light of what happened to NI, & how the creepy stalker guy in the car really does appear to be TD, the woman taking the video is lucky to be here. I had chills watching. Wth was he saying to her & gesturing about? Ugh.

Yet, TD's approach to Naomi in the Walmart parking lot was far more stealthy.

Under cover of darkness.
Complete head and face coverings
Watching her from some degree of concealment
No pulling up next to her to get her attention
No arm waving or gesturing like the daylight video guy
No vehicle at all associated with TD in view of Naomi's car.
Apparently approaching her from behind for the advantage of surprise
Apparently quickly subduing her with violence.

I don't think this is the same guy, at all.

I've been following, but I'm lost; was TD's vehicle identified by his license plate number?

Not to our knowledge. The recent references to a license plate here have been of the car that a woman claims had a man harassing her almost next to Walmart, a few days prior to Naomi's abduction. She has video of it, and of course, every YT'er has shown it and speculated whether or not it is TD, but no plate could be seen on that car. JMO

I've watched that video twice, and I swear whoever is holding the steering wheel has white gloves on. I'm still not sure if the guy who resembles TD is driving and then leaning over towards the passenger side, or if he's riding shotgun while someone else drives. However, it looks like the hands on the steering wheel are wearing gloves. If true, it really makes one wonder if that was him and if she almost became his victim.

Does anyone know, from a legal perspective, why they went ahead with the bail hearing when a body was found the day before that was most likely Naomi? Would that not have delayed it a few days?
The body was found around 9 o'clock the night before. The family knew about this, and was told indicators were it was Naomi, but a definite identification was not made until much later the next day. This is per Tammy, Naomi's sister.

Ok. I'm just not convinced. I thought maybe I was an outlier..
I don't think the video is good enough quality, plus I don't know DT's mannerisms, whether he'd do so much gesturing.

Maybe, maybe not.

I'm glad people have so little experience of this kind of following a lone woman, maybe it doesn't happen any more. I encountered it a few times (that I knew about) when I was younger. Some guys just get a kick out of it, they might be deluded that the woman will be be flattered, or they enjoy the brief power trip. It doesn't necessarily lead to criminal actions, though it could.

Good for her for filming it, bet he didn't expect that.

I think there's only one person, no gloves and he is obviously asking her to get in the car with him. After a couple of attempts and her not responding, he shrugs his shoulders and drives off. What's really scary to me is that he previously saw her walking her dog in another location. He waited for her to leave and followed her. Definitely targeting her!

Or did he learn from his mistakes?

I'm pretty sure he'd still be charged. If you're involved in a kidnapping in which the person dies, even if you didn't kill her, you'd still be charged. MOO though as this is not my area of expertise. I just remember hearing this in the MSM about a decade or so ago with other cases. Can any of our legal experts confirm?
That is true. That's how people who aren't the shooter still get charged in the crime.

Doesn't the crime get created in the spot where the first crime is identified?

So she was kidnapped in Lyon County. He will be prosecuted in Lyon County. The remainder may be dependent on what LE can determine.

There was a kind of similar situation that occured a couple of years ago with a guy who murdered people in two different counties in a weekend crime spree: Washoe County, where Reno is, and Douglas County where Minden is. The NV Supreme Court determined that he had to have trials in both counties. There were some other circumstances also addressed by the NV Supreme Court about having a relative from San Salvador come to testify for him. Anyway, he got two trial dates and pled guilty on both and his now being hosted for a life sentence by the citizens of Nevada.

I am just wondering here and hope a legal @Kristin Esq. comes in to verify. Could they charge him with kidnapping in one county - this would put him behind bars and hold him... then charge him with murder in another county?? That is only IF he actually murdered her in Pershing County. The kidnapping charge would hold him while they get the autopsy back and work on building evidence in the murder.

For @otto and others who have been working on the maps. If you take Coal Canyon Rd off I80 and follow it south, right before the Humbolt Intermediate Field it branches off down into Churchill County and eventually becomes Estill Ranch Rd. I believe NI was buried off this road somewhere between the ranch and the intersection. It fits the setting as described as being in Churchill County and in the “foothills”
If TD knew the area, he would not want to go as far as the ranch. The side road I have marked in the second map would give him some more cover to dispose of the body.
Because this area is so remote, LE had to have been given an almost exact location to have been able to find this body. It was reported she was found at 9:00 pm. This indicates that LE was tipped off by someone such as:
-TD
-An accomplice
-The Rancher? If TD went out at night to bury the body, did the rancher see his headlights head up that road? If you live out in the middle of nowhere you notice headlights at night and you know exactly what road they are on.
Or
a ping
Or
Vehicle telematics
MOO
We've talked a lot about pings, but I'm not convinced that would have directed LE to where Naomi was buried. A ping will give a general area, but given the area she was found, and how difficult it would be to find a body, a ping would have had too large an area.
