Just checking in - any updates (on the book, etc.)?

Thanks to my Kindle Unlimited membership, I was able to read the book for free. I have to say, and I mean no disrespect, I wouldn't even call it a book. It was very poorly written, and contained a lot of quotes that were just randomly placed.

I admittedly haven't followed this case closely enough to be able to tell you how the story given varies from other versions given. It was basically the version I remember, out giving a driving lesson, got into a road rage incident, took daughter home, son got in with the gun, drove around and found the car, the other car followed them to the cul de sac, shots were fired. Talked about how bad they were bashed in MSM and social media.

I feel terrible for the family, I don't think she in any way did anything that should have provoked shooting her. It did talk a bit about how the family is doing and handling things, but didn't elaborate a lot.

A few years back, I recall an incident where a family was driving down a Southern California street looking for an address where there was a child's birthday party going on. They were driving very slowly looking at the addresses of each house.

A neighborhood gangbanger saw the car and the way it was being driven and assumed that it was full of rival gang members intent on killing him. He fired at the car and killed a young child.

Instead of accepting a plea bargain, he went trail and claimed that his actions were a perfectly reasonable attempt at self defense and it was all the victims parents fault for driving like that in a neighborhood with a significant gang presence.

After being convicted and given something like 40 years, the guy gave a little statement to the press claiming that he was just a victim of circumstances and was only prosecuted at all because the victim was white.

I suspect Nowsch sees himself in pretty much the same predicament.

Prison doen't usually work out so well for guys who are real small. Too bad he didn't think of that earlier.

She didn't "deserve" to be killed. Unfortunately she did put herself in the situation that led to her death. Her family didn't help garner any sympathy for her by lying and telling numerous different stories.
Even so, her killer does deserve to pay the price for the life he wrongly took.
Such a sad and ridiculous case.

I thought 20/20 did a good job. The only really questionable - it's been debated on here without coming to a resolution - thing they showed was mapping out what happened after the first shooting with it showing that Nowsch/Andrews turned immediately in heading to Nowsch's home and ran head-on into the Meyers car and followed them into the turn with it being quite instantaneous and unplanned. Given the CCTV video and Nowsch's confession describing the turn of events I don't think that's what happened, but if that's how the DA ends up describing the events that could actually help Nowsch in that would be less premeditation than if he had already driven by his home and was out looking for the other car, which is what I believe what happened.

I also think 20/20 did a nice job. I still believe the driving lesson/road rage story and I believe EN's story as well. I still stand by my "theory" that after the 1st shooting, the Meyers went directly home and did not pass EN's house. I still believe that EN turned around and took the short cut into the cul-de-sac, meaning I don't think he passed his house to get to the cul-de-sac, JMO! :) I feel really bad for EN because I do not believe he meant to kill Tammy. I also don't believe he deserves life and I don't think he will get that, JMO! ;)

I don't feel bad for EN for a second. I don't see anything redeeming about this character. While I also believe he didn't mean to kill Tammy specifically, it's pretty clear to me he meant to kill whoever was in the car. And he didn't have to chase them down and shoot at them in their own driveway (even if he originally believed they were after him, his self-defense goes out window once they are trying to get away).

She might have put herself into the situation, but you can tell the same about a lot of victims.

It looks like there's a plea deal in this case, which may happen tomorrow:
http://www.ktnv.com/news/men-accused-of-killing-tammy-meyers-expected-to-enter-plea
And the terms are two separate deals for Nowsch and Andrews, which previously the DA wouldn't do a deal like that:
Prosecutor David Stanton said in September that he had extended an offer to both Nowsch, the alleged gunman, and Andrews, who drove a getaway vehicle, but they had rejected the deal.

“It was an offer that both had to accept,” Stanton said at the time.

Neither Stanton nor attorneys for Nowsch or Andrews would comment on Friday’s hearing.

In September, Nowsch’s lawyer, Conrad Claus, said the deal was not in his client’s best interest.

Attorneys Josh Tomsheck and Roy Nelson, who represent Andrews, have said he could not accept a deal “without the culpable party taking it as well.”

Meyers’ husband, Bob Meyers, said Stanton and Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson walked him through the latest agreement, and “I’m 100 percent behind the DA on it.”

The terms include Nowsch pleading guilty to second-degree murder, which carries a possible sentence of 10 years to life in prison, and Andrews pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter, which carries a possible sentence of 1 to 10 years in prison, according to Meyers.

This sounds more appropriate them having two separate deals given that it would have been a lot harder proving M1 against Andrews who didn't shoot and didn't have a gun.

They've officially entered guilty pleas of M2 and VM, which now what remains is sentencing on 4/21:

From your link SpanishInquisition:

[...]
Nowsch entered a guilty plea on Friday to second degree murder with use of a deadly weapon and assault with a deadly weapon. Nowsch could be sentenced 10 years to life.

Andrews pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and accessory to commit murder.

As part of the plea deal, Nowsch and Andrews also had to admit verbally in front of the court that they were responsible for the death of Meyers.
[...]

RBBM....

There is also an embedded video at the link. Interesting turn of events, to say the least.

Guilty pleas in "road rage" murder of Las Vegas mom

Erich Nowsch, 20, entered a guilty plea for second-degree murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm from a vehicle in court Friday. Derrick Andrews, accused of driving a getaway car, entered a guilty plea to one count of voluntary manslaughter and one count of accessory to commit murder.

Because with a trial it would have been M1 all day long.
You can't chase people and shoot them because they acted like a jerk.

The only car chase any witness testified to was the chase initiated by Tammy Meyers. The driver of the car who would have done any of the chasing isn't even getting M2. That there are two different pleas for the unarmed driver and the armed passenger shows that it isn't as simple as you portray it as otherwise they'd both be getting the same M2 deal as equal components of the driving and the shooting. What did Nowsch in was the multiple shots at the house with the emptying and reloading could get him M1 irrespective of anything else, not Andrews driving and as such is reflected in their different pleas.
