I'm checking out collages for Forensic Science classes. I just love trying to put these pictures together.

I'm sharing this one because I'm questioning the accuracy of the information. The lack of information is astounding considering the particulars of his disappearance. I can't find him on any other missing person database either. Even if the info is accurate, he's still a possible lead.

These are the two problems that don't match up:

1) It says he has black hair, but it says he has green eyes. Since that's a very rare color combination, black hair might be inaccurate. And green eyed people often have red tones in their hair.

2) It says he disappeared in May 1990. I can't find any confirmation when authorities became aware of his disappearance. I realize 14 months is our cut off for time of death, but I'm not sure how strictly we need to stay within that time period.

I just want to say that I'm new to looking through these databases, and it's downright depressing what people do to each other.

nice TexJan1971 the PDF looks great

This one is a long shot (heavier and the photo appears to be dark brown hair), but I'm sharing him because he may have been seen hitchhiking into to Las Vegas. He could have lost weight while he was on the road.

Clyde Edward Stansberry
https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/show/25568
Last Seen: The real answer is "Unknown." The location was temporarily changed to Tennessee to facilitate DNA and processing.
Date Last Seen: April 5, 1990.
Age Last Seen: 44 to 45
Gender: Male
Race White
Hair: Red/Auburn
Height: 71 to 73
Weight: 150 to 160
Distinguishing Characteristics: Broken nose, Broken right wrist in childhood
Circumstances: Circumstances temporarily withheld to facilitate DNA and processing. From reading the articles, it appears he disappeared when hi daughter was young, and as an adult she began the search to find him. She discovered his second wife had him declared dead. A friend of the daughters is the Director of Case Management and Communications at NamUs, and he is personally working on Stansberry's case.

It seems they're currently doing DNA comparison with an unidentified body found in Tennessee. Until that's a confirmed match, he should be put on our list so he doesn't fall through the cracks.

Update....

The good news is we now have a DNA profile entered into CODIS for our John Doe, which is a huge step in the right direction! Unfortunately, we do not have any "hits" on the profile at this time.

We need your help. Attached is a photograph of a piece of a T-shirt. We believe the T-shirt was originally white. We need your help with identifying the design. Does anyone recognize it? Thank you in advance for your time and efforts!

Turning it sideways the graphic definately looks like either a turkey in a sunset with a mountain in the background or a native american indian with a head dress on and a mountain in the background/sun

I know it's possible, but it's not as common in euro caucasians. Plus, the detectives told us to not rule people out based on hair color.

Green eyes are the rarest eye color (with the exception of a couple of super rare colors). Green eyes with black hair is more rare than green eyes with lighter hair color. (I have green eyes with light hair.) I think they're stunning with dark hair because you can see the eyes a mile away.

I see where some of us reposted the same missing persons but I think that is a really good thing that we are all coming back with same or similar info. Once the "master list" is completed (it may be and I just can't access dropbox) I think we can start putting more sleuthing into ones that could be real possiblities.

I have completed the entire western half of the US (mainland) from the doenetwork and posted all of the ones that even remotely fit the height range. Hair color is just too subjective (to me) and I know age is a better identifier (but I still included some people who were in their 20's).

I think we are currently in the 50's for submitted possible matches. Since LEO are able to easily rule out (or set aside for now) ones with dentals available - I think this will be a way to shorten the list fairly quickly. At least there are some leads to start working on and we are able to asist.

LEO said we will solve this one and I agree!

There's not much information on this guy to make a decision about him one way or another.

I have seen green eyes and black hair in many people from Kentucky. Tulessa is from there so it would explain why she is used to it.

He's 4 years younger, but this sounds like a fascinating mystery that could result in him turning up anywhere dead or alive.

Disappearance Proves a Baffling Puzzle

When Montgomery County police Detective Barry Collier and two FBI agents burst into a Days Inn
motel room in Capitol Heights in June, they hoped to find missing businessman George M. Lutas.

Lutas wasn't there, but the officers found three of his associates who had been holed up in the room for six months. The three gave a bizarre reason for their lifestyle - they said they were hiding from a Romanian hit squad - and they offered no clues to the whereabouts of Lutas, a 27-year-old Montgomery County computer entrepreneur who has been missing since December.

Collier's encounter at the Days Inn was only one of many strange twists in his search for Lutas, a search that has turned up everything from copyright disputes and false identities to allegations of a secret government project. …

Montana:

Curtis A. Holmen
6'5"
blonde hair (looks redish in the picture and similar to LEO's hair pic)
31 y/o

This concludes 1982 - 1993 Montana
(snipped by cb)

I was distantly acquainted with Curtis Holmen (friend of mine was friends with his wife). He had that red-blond hair like you see on Norwegian lumberjacks* and his beard was redder than his head hair. It went quite dark when it was wet. He might have been even taller than 6'5". Big, big man. He was an outdoorsman and survivalist. Most people think he was killed by a grizzly while out in the woods. His Charley page has that story and some more information: http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/h/holmen_curtis.html

It was probably 1982 (correction, more likely 1978) that I saw him last, and as I said only met him a couple of times, but based on what I remember, I wouldn't rule him out.

* clarification: I don't know whether he was Norwegian. That's just what it reminded me of.

Thanks. His hair color was a perfect match in the picture. Everything matched except he was a few years younger. Then, I ended up finding the circumstances on another website, and it seems he was killed by his brother the night he disappeared. Unless killers transport bodies a thousand miles away to hide them, I wouldn't even call it a long shot. Maybe I should post him just in case he ran off and left the state after the fight with his brother, but he did have a child so I think that's unlikely.
I'll go ahead and share this one I was discussing above. His brother probably killed him in Michigan, but I'm going to error on the side of caution because there's a remote chance he ran away and disappeared. If he didn't have this dark strawberry blonde hair, I wouldn't bother.

OMG! Detectives! I just noticed you are near THE BEST fish tacos I've ever had!

The gas station at the intersection of 120 and 395 across from Mono Lake.

I'm talking gourmet level food at a gas station. http://www.whoanelliedeli.com/

You might be two hours away, but you're certainly closer than I am at 2,500 miles away.

Someone commented earlier that the area is remote. It is and it isn't.

I just realized Wellington is just off the route we took from Yosemite to Tahoe a couple of years ago.
