MANHATTAN, N.Y. — The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a 16-year-old mother and her two young daughters who were reported missing from their Midtown East residence. The three were last seen on Friday, August 23, 2024, at approximately 12:30 p.m. leaving their home at 150 East 44th Street.

The search is ongoing, and detectives are canvassing the area and reviewing available surveillance footage. No further information has been released at this time.

Augustina Muntean and her daughters, 3-year-old Gloria Muntean and 1-month-old Florida Muntean, were last seen leaving their home on East 44th Street around 12:30 p.m.

Augustina Muntean is described as being 5’3″ and having long brown hair. She was last seen wearing a red shirt, a black and white long skirt and black sandals. It’s not known what the children were wearing when they went missing, according to authorities.

This is very odd. That address where a 16yo mother of two children disappeared from is a very nice building. It's high-end, luxury residential high-rise. It's not where you would expect a teen mom to be able to afford to live.

I'm thinking that when the media stated she "left her home" it didn't necesesarily mean she lived there alone, simply that it was her home. It's likely at age 16, and especially with 2 small children, she lives with family (parents most likely).

She likely was living with someone as 2-bedroom units are over $7000/month and even studio apartments are over $4000/month.
