3, going on 4 years now. And Colin is still missing. Something should have turned up by now.

I still think of Colin and pray that his family gets answers.

I got excited when I saw this thread pop up again...I HATE this case so much because the story (I have read...and re-read SO many times) and the absence of ANY information since ...make me shake my head every time. Colin: Please talk to us...give us a sign...U were brilliant (pre-med) so please find a way!:truce:

Just here for a topic bump, but not needed, as I see a few new posts.

Happy Thanksgiving, as time rolls on with this case, and little new leads......

Another winter, and no news of Colin. Maybe some of the people at the party that night would be ready to tell more about the fight, and what may have happened. You can post here anonymously....... Help Colin's family find him.

ontheclock --- Not an entire timeline that I can recall or find but SunsetGirl started one back on page #33 her post #487 was a most excellent start...

Where you at Kadence??? It's been awhile...

Life happens.

Before we know it, another March will be upon us, soon to be 4 long years gone by...

Where is Colin?

:candle:

Let Colin come home now!

:please:

:gaah:

Facts of the Case & Timeline

Here's a timeline I compiled using everyone's posts & info from assorted news articles (a lot of this info was confirmed by Kadence our Verified Insider - info I'm not sure of is marked with ???)

Colin Gillis, age 18 … college freshman, home on spring break

Sat. 3/10/12 PM … Tupper Lake, NY

Colin got a ride with friends … he left his house w/coat & backpack

They stopped at a location on Lincoln Ave & picked up others

Colin & 9 friends crash someone’s 21st b-day party (approx. 40 attended the party … Colin’s gf was NOT there)

Party location – on Paskungameh Rd, Tupper Lake

The party guests were some that Colin didn’t know and others he generally didn’t hang out with (age range of guests including Colin = 18 to 29 ???)

Sun. 3/11/12 – early AM

Colin’s 9 friends leave party, Colin stays (before or after fighting starts ???)

Fighting at the party (several fights, unknown cause)

Party ended abruptly (possibly due to the fighting but do not know for sure)

Shortly before 1:30am … Colin left on foot, alone

Colin did not have a pre-arranged ride home & there is no evidence of Colin calling someone for a ride

Colin heads WEST on Route 3 towards Piercefield (in opposite direction from his home)

1:30 am … Colin’s last cell phone use

No pings from Colin’s cell phone (spotty to no service where he was last seen)

Approx. 1:30 am … Colin was seen leaving Paskungameh Rd by local teenager A.T. w/cousin (they stop & ask if he wants a ride, he declined saying he was waiting for a friend to pick him up)

Sometime between 1:30-1:45am … Colin was seen by a mom and her son, the mom was driving – both saw someone but neither could confirm it was Colin (Kadence post #333)

Approx. 1:45 am … Colin was last seen by newspaper editor R.R. (& his mom) near the snowplow turnaround near the county line on Route 3 (a little over a mile from the party location) 'acting odd' 'almost staggering' (quoting from video interview w/R.R.)

Newspaper editor R.R. drives to police station to report the ‘incident’ and police respond

Newspaper editor R.R. insists Colin was NOT wearing a coat or carrying a backpack

Around 2:00 am ??? … no sign of Colin as police check out report

Temperatures at 2am were around 20F w/wind chill (feels like temp) about 10F (Wunderground archives)

Sun. 3/11/12 - daytime

Colin's family & friends begin searching

5:30 pm ... Colin reported missing to police

Mon. 3/12/12

Massive searches began for Colin ... Quote from WCAX: "Throughout the day, dozens of law officers and nearly 200 volunteers spent the day looking for the missing 18-year-old. Their efforts focused on a two mile radius around the home. It includes dense wooded areas along with the Racquette River and Piercefield Flow."

Two items found: Colin’s driver’s license & another personal item belonging to Colin (NOT his shoe!) – found on Route 3 about 0.25mi from where Colin was last seen – just to the west of Setting Pole Dam Rd

Intensive searches continued throughout the weeks that followed with no sign of Colin

Colin's coat and backpack have NOT been found (*see my previous post - I feel this is significant)

"he was waiting for a friend to pick him up"

I am sure most of this was discussed before, but I will start fresh.

So it is 20 degrees at 2 AM and Colin is walking alone drunk WEST on route 3 (opposite from his home). So, who might that friend be, who is supposed to meet him at 2 AM on a 20 degree night, and uninvited to the party? How would that friend know to pick him up? Is there a cell phone record of a call? I am sure if this story is true, that the other person came forward of a conversation with Colin. Either that, or the 2 guys made the story up.

"Colin did not have a pre-arranged ride home & there is no evidence of Colin calling someone for a ride"

"he was waiting for a friend to pick him up"

These 2 statements cannot both be true, unless the friend is someone already at the party, and that would make no sense for Colin to be walking away from the ride at the house.

As for this point, how does the guy know he saw Colin (no coat, no backback). It sounds like the editor does not know him personally. Could he have seen someone else? Maybe someone who did harm to Colin?

TMAN2014 your posts got me thinking.
If a car had stopped to offer Colin a ride, not once, but twice...did anyone report seeing that? We know there was traffic out that evening yet NO ONE (to my knowledge) has come forward to verify the fact that a car was pulled over speaking to someone on the side of the road that evening? Really? It makes me question if that ever happened. I have always questioned that story and I don't believe one shred of it (IMO).

I think it would be beneficial to reinterview people in this case. Perhaps loyalties have changed, as we approach 4 years, and people would be willing to speak more freely? Perhaps people have grown up and are ready to get things off their chest?

Thank you to everyone who has been posting on this thread.

Yeah, this story isn't right. But-a mother and son saw someone (maybe Colin), and so did someone else. The real question is, what happened to his coat and backpack? He left them somewhere, and somebody got rid of them, I think. The authorities know that Colin did not call anyone from his cell phone, so he surely couldn't have been waiting for a friend to come and get him.

The video Colin's brother did is both amazing and heartbreaking. His parents are incredible!

Just thinking outloud, while all this was taking place, it wasn't yet determined that Colin was even missing.

But IIRC it was reported that state police even went to have a look around, after RR made a report at the Tupper Lake village police station.

(Colin wasn't reported missing until later Sunday.)

ETA after reviewing the timeline: state police followed up on RR's report around 2am, Colin reported missing around 5:30pm

Well... AT is currently in jail!!!! Franklin County Jail.
On Vinelink, if you want to verify. Not sure if I can link. I do not know any details.

So AT (and cousin) is one of the people who saw Colin last, and supposedly offered him a ride? Now, AT is in jail for something else? Interesting.

Yeah, that is a good point about the coat and backpack.

Andalso, who exactly is AT? Was this person a friend who attended the party as part of Colin's group, and someone he knew well? BTW, what is Vinelink, some kind of social network?

see this post #18 at link regarding AT

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...ke-2am-on-11-March-2012&p=7689677#post7689677

note: AT's name is often spelled wrong. The last 3 letters of his first name are actually ten not tin
While AT is currently in custody I did not intend to infer that it is related to this case or to Colin. I am unsure why AT is in jail but a quick google brings up some of his legal troubles, if you spell his name correctly.

Vinelink is a site showing the status of some individuals who have committed crimes. Yet, it is not telling me what crime he committed to be in jail. Does anyone know how to figure that out.

In my opinion, I have always been skeptical about AT's story about the events of that evening. In fact, seems to me that AT may have indeed placed himself as the last person to see Colin.

Oh...regarding who exactly AT is...this is all I really know.

1) AT's is a local Tupper Laker

2) Small town and same school as Colin...IMO, they def would have known each other. IMO, they would have not likely fit well together in the same circles but likely had friends in common. It seems AT and his bro NT and their family has a history of trouble and violence in the Tupper area whilst Colin seems to have been more likely on the path to success.

3) AT had a pregnant girlfriend at the time Colin went missing. Her initials are BN. On the night Colin went missing she wrote on her fb page that she had never seen so many fights between family and friends. So, this leads me to believe she was at the party that night. Therefore, I assume AT was also. BN has family members in law enforcement. BN and AT have since broken up...

4)http://adirondackdailyenterprise.co...id/550561/Police-and-Fire-Calls.html?nav=5008
From Feb 2015 (note, I made his name initials)

TUPPER LAKE - Village police charged AT, 21, of Tupper Lake with robbery in the third degree, a felony, and harassment in the second degree, a violation, on Thursday at 8:45 a.m. Toohey was arraigned in Tupper Lake village court and released on $5,000 bail.
