Yes, CPS will likely have a case plan or "safety plan" that the family will have to follow before and after the children are returned. They will probably be closely monitored for a long time. How does one begin to rehabilitate this mess? The depths of damage the parents had on their own children alone seems irreversible. They defended themselves feverishly, yet it was all riddled with lies and insanity reigned. They have left a trail of damage through this community that is barr none. Sadly I feel this is far from over. All MOO.
They will likely have social workers to help them find pediatricians and make sure they follow through with all appointments. They can provide transportation if needed. They can provide them with counselling for the children or parents, parenting classes, or whatever they determine is necessarily. They can also make sure the family follows through with a specific education plan and monitor the progress of the children.
Social workers can make unscheduled visits to the home in addition to weekly visits.
If all parents involved do not cooperate with the safety plan, the children can be removed again.
Since the family don't seem to like following rules, it may be a long time before they will have full control again. They are not going to like it, but they won't have much choice.
All these services can cost the state a lot more than keeping the children in foster care, so they really don't have much more to complain about.
