Former President Trump released a dramatic campaign video on Friday, featuring footage of his widely watched arrest this week over hush money payments and again cast himself as a victim of investigators.

In the 56-second ad, posted to Donald Trump Jr.'s Twitter page and emailed to supporters by the campaign, sleek footage of the former president traveling to court is played over cinematic music and Trump's voiceover.
No, they are NOT going to do this to me. I haven’t scammed people most of my life and made myself out to be what I’m not. A self made billionaire.

Russia's “merchant of death”- international arms dealer Viktor Bout— offered Donald Trump asylum in Russia saying that he believes the former president's life is in danger if he remains in the United States. In an interview on a Russian state-TV channel, Viktor Bout said that he had sent a telegram to Donald Trump warning him of threat to his life and urging him to flee to Russia.

Viktor Bout, a convicted Russian arms dealer, said, “The legal process which has now begun in New York won't just end in Donald Trump being convicted and barred from the [2024] election.”

“Most likely he will simply be eliminated there. Therefore, I think it's in the best interests of all of humanity and primarily all of the American people to invite Donald Trump here, to Russia, to give him security and protection here so that he leads this uprising against the globalists and, most importantly, does not allow the elimination of the American people,” he added.
Is he paying? Is there a go fund me? Hopefully not run by #45?

An April 4 Facebook post (direct link, archived link) from Eric Trump makes a claim about Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

"Alvin Bragg has shut down the entire city, called up 38,000 NYPD police officers, closed down FDR Drive and is spending an estimated $200 million of city funds, all for a $130,000 NDA," reads the post. "I never thought I would see this corruption in the United States."

The post generated over 700 shares in less than a week. Former President Donald Trump shared a similar post on Truth Social, which generated over 50,000 likes.

[...]

Our rating: False

The post misrepresents both what happened and Bragg’s role in city operations. Bragg did not order New York City to be shut down, and that didn't happen. The New York Police Department did close a part of FDR Drive, but this was not on Bragg’s order. Bragg does not oversee the NYPD and has no authority to call up officers. There's no proof the $200 million figure is correct.

Fabien Levy, press secretary for New York City Mayor Eric Adams, told USA TODAY that “both Trumps completely fabricated these numbers without any actual information.”

He lied?

Bout, also known as the “Merchant of Death”, was freed from a US jail last year. He was swapped for US basketball star Brittney Griner in a high-profile prisoner exchange between Moscow and Washington in December.

“I believe your life is in peril,” Bout wrote in a Telegram message sent to Trump and shown to the press in Moscow.

“The Biden administration will not stop just by dragging you through the court/prison industrial complex,” he said.

“They would sooner end your life than let you stand in their way.”

Bout told Mr Trump, whom he has long admired, that he would find a “safe haven, and from here you can lead the fight for the American people”.

Bout was serving a 25-year sentence in a US prison when he was swapped for Griner. He has since joined a Russian nationalist party.

Accused of arming rebels in some of the world’s bloodiest conflicts, Bout was arrested in Thailand in a US sting operation in 2008, extradited to the US and sentenced in 2012.

I didn’t catch the name the first look!

Can we trade Trump to get Bout back?

He seems to be confusing the USA with Russia.

In August 2015, at Trump Tower in New York, Donald Trump met with Michael Cohen, then his lawyer and fixer, and David Pecker, then chief executive of American Media, owner of the National Enquirer.
According to the indictment of the former president unsealed in New York this week, Pecker agreed to help with Trump’s campaign for the Republican nomination, “looking out for negative stories” about Trump and then alerting Cohen.

Pecker “also agreed to publish negative stories” about Trump’s competitors.

Maggie Haberman says that around the same time as the meeting with Pecker and Cohen, Sam Nunberg, a political adviser, asked Trump for his “biggest concern” about running.

“Trump had a simple reply: ‘The women.’”

The article you've linked above, also mentions payment made for rigged polls. What do we know about that?

From your link: Trump now faces 34 counts, all felonies, of falsifying business records with intent to conceal another crime: breaches of campaign finance laws. All the charges relate to the $130,000 Cohen paid Stormy Daniels, the adult film star and director who claims an affair Trump denies, and how Cohen was repaid $420,000 including $50,000 for “another expense” Cohen has said was for rigged polls, another $180,000 to cover taxes and a $60,000 bonus.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Cohen had paid the data firm RedFinch Solutions to manipulate two public opinion polls in favor of Trump before the 2016 presidential campaign.

The Journal said Cohen commissioned John Gauger, who runs RedFinch Solutions, to write a computer script to repeatedly vote for Trump in a February 2015 Drudge Report poll on potential Republican candidates.

Cohen also commissioned Gauger to do the same for a 2014 CNBC online poll identifying the country’s top business leaders

“As for the @WSJ article on poll rigging,” Cohen wrote on Twitter on Thursday, “what I did was at the direction of and for the sole benefit of @realDonaldTrump @POTUS. I truly regret my blind loyalty to a man who doesn’t deserve it.”

The New Yorker is publishing Rosenberg's sketch of Trump on the cover of its April 17 issue, the first time in its history the magazine printed a courtroom sketch on its cover. For a magazine whose cover art frequently etches a place in popular culture and history, The New Yorker's decision to print Rosenberg's sketch marks a historic point for not only Rosenberg's career but also courtroom sketch art broadly.

As her pencil hit the paper, she said that Trump's expression changed, looking towards the government attorney and giving him "side eye."

"He held that position; I felt like, 'Ah, I have to get this moment,'" she said.

The final sketch shows a expressive Trump, eyebrows and frown accentuated.

'No words. o_O

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL,' Trump started in his Sunday message written in all capital letters.

'INCLUDING THOSE THAT DREAM ENDLESSLY OF DESTROYING OUR COUNTRY BECAUSE THEY ARE INCAPABLE OF DREAMING ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE, THOSE THAT ARE SO INCOMPETENT THEY DON'T REALIZE THAT HAVING A BORDER AND POWERFUL WALL IS A GOOD THING, & HAVING VOTER I.D., ALL PAPER BALLOTS, & SAME DAY VOTING WILL QUICKLY END MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD, & TO ALL OF THOSE WEAK & PATHETIC RINOS, RADICAL LEFT DEMOCRATS, SOCIALISTS MARXISTS, & COMMUNISTS WHO ARE KILLING OUR NATION.'

'REMEMBER, WE WILL BE BACK!' he cautioned.

"In a later post, without context, he wrote: “World War III”."

Melania Trump breaks social media silence with Easter Sunday post

I don't think DT understands what his alleged criminal behaviour and this first indictment means to the world.

"Last week’s melodrama made it plainer than ever that Trump does not understand America – what made it, what it is now, what it stands for around the globe. He just doesn’t get it."

It’s the Donald J Trump Show … and the world’s tyrants are its biggest fans

I don't believe DT understands what his alleged criminal behavior means to American citizens just as Nixon failed to grasp the backlash until SCOTUS intervened. That took several years to unfold. Quite a few of Nixon "helpers" went to jail.

One character attribute Americans insist our government officials exhibit is truth/honesty. Both Nixon and Trump committed a serious betrayal of that trust.
