NEW YORK - Frank James, the man the NYPD identified as a person of interest in connection with the Brooklyn subway attack Tuesday morning, posted a string of antagonistic video rants to a YouTube channel for years. Wednesday morning New York Mayor Eric Adams announced that James was considered a suspect, and no longer just a person of interest, in Tuesday's shooting.

Using titles like "DOMESTICATED AVERAGES" and "SENSIBLE VIOLENCE," James posted hour-long, profanity-laced rants about race, politics and current events. The banner image showed an alarm clock reading "Too Late."

CNN Shimon P Live:

In Manhattan, St Mark's Area & First Ave

Patrol officers saw him and arrested him; 9th Precinct

W/ out incidence
Makes sense he would run to Manhattan. That's a better place try to hide and blend in....or to get transportation out of NYC. Probably traveled there by subway, as I'm sure buses, taxis and Uber were low on his options list.

Scarily, this is literally right around the corner from my kids's father's apartment in East Village. Grateful he has been located and arrested.

James’ attorneys with the Federal Defenders filed a motion in Brooklyn Federal Court Monday requesting his trial, set to start in February 2023, be moved to the Northern District of Illinois, which includes Chicago. They argue that both extensive media coverage and public statements by the likes of Mayor Eric Adams mean a New York-based jury would be prejudiced beyond repair against their client.

In a letter to the court Wednesday, court-appointed attorneys for the defendant, Frank James, indicated that "he wishes to schedule a guilty plea to the superseding indictment."

He faces up to life in prison on each of the 11 counts in the new indictment, according to prosecutors. A change of plea hearing has been scheduled for January 3, according to court filings.

Federal prosecutors essentially want a life sentence against Frank James, who allegedly opened fire on a packed New York City subway train last April.

With James due in court on Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 3), the Associated Press reported that prosecutors alerted Judge William F. Kuntz II last week that they will ask him to hand down a sentence that exceeds the possible 39-year sentence under federal sentencing guidelines.
Defense lawyers announced on December 21 that James, 63, changed his mind and planned to plead guilty at the hearing on Tuesday in Brooklyn federal court. He was charged with an 11-count indictment that includes 10 counts of terrorist attack — one for each of the 10 people struck in the subway shooting — as well as with a firearms charge.

James is scheduled to stand trial in late February.

A man who opened fire on a Brooklyn subway train last year, wounding 10 passengers in a rush-hour attack that shocked New York City, pleaded guilty Tuesday to federal terrorism charges.

Frank James, who had posted online that he was the "Prophet of Doom," appeared in a Brooklyn federal court and admitted to pulling the trigger on a Manhattan-bound train as it moved between stations on April 12, 2022. He didn't have a plea agreement, and prosecutors are seeking to put him in prison for decades.

Frank James, 64, was sentenced to 10 life terms plus 10 years by U.S. District Court Judge William Kuntz during a hearing in Brooklyn federal court. James pleaded guilty in January to 10 counts of terrorism and weapons charges.
