Is Spitzer suspected of running any of the prostitution rings or making himself money in pay offs? Maybe some of the others were competition and wouldn't pay him off and that's why he was so eager to prosecute.

Why Monday? Why not today?
Awww, y'all.
I just looked at her myspace and honestly, its so sad. Even the people who are posting their support for her there seem to have agendas. I know I'm cynical by nature, but at first I was touched that so many people from her life and her past had posted something to support her. Until I realized that most were posting things because they know the media is wise to her page and they knew it'd be the best way to promote their own stuff.
It appears she's had a tough life, and it doesn't look like it's about to get better.

Oh yeah she is a very bright girl alright! That's why she is a *advertiser censored*?! But you know..''dude she is only there for a purpose''!! (real bright)
Many people have had tough lives and they decide to get an education and get a job. Instead, she chose to drop out of school, live with an older man who supported her and then prostitute herself for money. IMO, she has taken the path that happened to be the "easiest" for her at any given moment....It appears she's had a tough life, and it doesn't look like it's about to get better.
I think she's a smart girl and it sounds like she knew exactly what she was getting involved with. She, like Eliot Spitzer, just doesn't like the consequences.
Alot of people have difficulties growing up and I'm just really tired of people using those difficulties as excuses.
I see no reason to excuse Eliot Spitzer's behavior, either.
IMO

I don't doubt she's smart. According to her myspace, she left home at 17 and was at one point, homeless. While her means of earning a living may be repulsive to some of us, for others (myself) it's understandable and sad.
As long as men are willing to "run around", they'll find someone to do it with, paid or unpaid. At this point, I don't see that she has to excuse herself of anything. She was earning a living and is apparently unmarried. (ie: she broke no vows)
I don't pass judgement on this girl.
Which is one reason why the Mann Act should probably be utilized. These sad and/or dumb girls are targets to serve the likes of Spitzer in an industry that caters to the lowest of the low.It appears she's had a tough life, and it doesn't look like it's about to get better.
Well stated. I don't understand why the government has any say in this anyway. It is sex between two consenting adults, it should be none of their business.

The government cares because of (a few reasons):
the potential for tax evasion, transporting human beings across state lines for sex (human trafficking IS a problem in this country), the fact that the former governor was setting himself up to be a HUGE bribery target, New York state resources were used to fund his escapades (maybe not paying for the sex, but how about the hotel room(s), food, state troopers, etc).
I wonder what kind of income the prostitutes and their johns have been declaring on their taxes? They should have to pay on their income like the rest of us!
Well stated. I don't understand why prostitution is illegal . It is sex between two consenting adults, it should be none of the governments business.

I see it differently, but that's what makes the world go 'round.
She made herself available for the men that were willing to run around. She has some culpability -for lack of a better term-in this mess, too. I don't excuse her because she was bringing home the bacon.
IMO
She made herself available (just like a lot of women do on Friday and Saturday nights for free at your local bar) and the men sought her out (like they do in the bars on Friday and Saturday nights)
It's the person who made the vows to their spouse who are culpable in this.
Prostitution is illegal because it goes hand in hand with drugs, gambling, the mafia, etc. You can't just look at it from the "between two consenting adults" angle, IMO.Well stated.
