Wonder if this is accurate and if so, what did they find 6 months later:

<snip> He [Boyce] said the police had returned to the park in recent days to hunt for additional evidence. “We had to cut down weeds,” Chief Boyce said, “but we found pieces we needed to identify this male.”

Spring Creek Park really needs to be cleaned up and those weeds cut down permanently. It is a federal reserve but still....

They may have gone back based on the details of each step of the assault that he gave them (on Feb 2nd?).

The 911 caller alerted cops to someone prowling through back yards in the neighborhood.

NYPD Lt. John Russo, who works for Boyce and lives in Howard Beach, then called the local precinct when he spotted Lewis casing parked cars about a day later, police sources said.
Ruso was a “key player” in helping identify him, Boyce said.

When I look up the address on google and look at a 2013 version of the street view, I think I'm seeing a bike. I am not 100% sure I have the right address so not providing a link.

Never mind. I think I have the right address, but this quote leads me to believe that a bike in 2013 wasn't his:

"Residents at that building, a two-story, brick rowhouse, said by phone that the basement apartment was recently rented to neighbors that they don’t know."

ETA: Looking at the news coverage, I had the house next door anyway.

The "a day later" is confusing. I'm assuming the "day later" refers to May 2016? ??

Just got done reading that! So now I'm wondering if he had in fact just recently moved there WHERE was he living beforehand??

“'Stop and frisk' is a controversial law enforcement technique that has been under fire by civil liberty groups. Critics say police stop innocent police and ethnic minorities too often. However, the technique allowed police to crack the Vetrano case, according to The New York Daily News.

Just two days before the Vetrano suspect was identified, New York police agreed in a settlement to 'curtail' stop-and-frisk in apartment buildings, the New York Times reported.

The Daily News reports that police zeroed in on the man by 'combing through stop and frisk reports from the neighborhoods near the scene of Vetrano’s killing.'”

"However, once his name emerged as someone to look at, police asked Lewis to voluntarily provide his DNA, which he did, according to The New York Post. Police say it was a match to DNA found on Vetrano’s battered body."

I was assuming the summons the perp had were civil, but this sounds like they were criminal summons:

"Lewis doesn’t have a criminal record but has been issued three criminal court summonses since 2013 Boyce said." http://nypost.com/2017/02/05/police-id-suspect-in-slain-jogger-case/

Back to the drawing board to figure out what offenses those might be.

Here is a list of the most common offenses that result in criminal summons. Looks similar to what we already posted above anyway;

I went there thinking the same thing. :) If there's a pic DM will have it. :)

I agree that DM is usually outstanding for photos. In this case, it could be that CL does not use his given first name on FB. It's probably a burden and confusing at times. Or he could be one of the few CLs on FB that show the generic male silhouette instead of a photo. Those are all private AFAICS.
