I hate to see this so quiet. I am so glad they caught the guy and hope for a speedy trial and sentencing so her family doesn't have this part weighing on them and waiting for it to come.

His next hearing is 2/21. Hope some new info is released and building case against him.

Im sure they are buiding a case against him. Lawyers will try and get evidence thrown out. I dont think they will succeed. Pedro Hernandez, guilty of killing Etan Patz. His mental issues did not sway the jury.

Used to go to that SS office all the time. Remember this attack reported in the local newspaper "The Wave". It was a shocking story then & still is now.

Cops suspect jogger’s killing may have been racially motivated

A white detective initially tried twice to get Lewis to talk and he refused, sources said.

But when the black detective, Barry Brown, interviewed him, Lewis waived his Miranda rights and gave two videotaped statements, confessing that he’d “hit” and “choked” the beautiful jogger on Aug. 2.

Brown is known as a highly-skilled officer and the “best detective in Queens for getting confessions,” sources said.

Case was continued and adjourned till April 3rd. That's very common, I have seen it go on for over a year in other cases.

A law enforcement official who didn’t want to be named said the court adjournment was an indication of the legal complexity of the case and an effort to give the Legal Aide Society, which is representing Lewis, time to do its investigation.

In a separate interview after the hearing Tuesday, Vetrano’s father, Philip Vetrano, told Newsday he and his family “want due process and due process quickly. We are not a lynch mob.”
