This case is reminding me of Kiesha Weippeart's case. The mother killed her 3 weeks before reporting her missing. There is a thread here (active) but I can't link on my phone sorry.

O/T the so called mother just pled guilty to murder. Sentencing next month IIRC

Thanks everyone for the updates. I can't believe the father -ha- is out there, doing his thing, while baby is missing. Drives me nuts.

Good for her to not believe that stupid story Jevon told. Jevon must be betting on getting out of this mess he's in. I hope his own family and friends, and attorney, urge him to talk.

Sorry to scare ya! Didn't mean to hijack LW's thread. :blushing: I had followed Kiesha Weippeart's case from the begining and was pleased to see that her abusive so called mother would soon be sentenced. I was also glad to see that Kiesha Weippeart was remembered by others.

I thought the same thing at first too. I had to do a double take on the OT to realize it was the mother in a different case.

Wow, just got done reading this thread. I personally do not believe the story. However, I doubt he could bring a stroller through the window, if itss true that he usually scaled his building to get in due to being locked out.

Was maternal family not involved? Did mom not call from rehab? How was this baby left with this man in the first place? When was his last doctor visit? They could not provide info on his most recent weight, if they had one?

If I was family and knew about his past I would be knocking doors down to get that baby while mom got well.

Amy Warney says she broke up with Jevon on May 9th, the last time she saw her son. She was in rehab when Levon was reported missing.

During a candlelight vigil on Monday, Warney's sister, Tiffany Smith, told the crowd she couldn't accept Wameling's explanation for waiting 14 days to call for help.

“He said that he was hoping and thinking that me or my mother had drove past the house and seen the baby outside and took him,” Smith said.

When asked if he tried contacting the family to check, Smith replied, “Never bothered.”

Chuck Warney, Levon's Grandfather claims Jevon told him he was, “messed up” when the incident happened.

"He said, 'Pop I didn't do nothing to that baby.' He said, 'Please listen to me.' I said, 'What happened then?' He said, ‘I don't know,’ Warney recalled. "He said, 'I come back downstairs and the baby was gone.’ He said, 'I got scared."

As dozens gathered in front of Jevon Wameling's home, he did not emerge to join the vigil.

I check the FB page his mom set up - every day. It's probably the first and last thing I do. I've always found those pages in the earlier and later hours to have very good information (before people go on a censoring spree). I often wonder if the child hadn't crawled away and the father (possibly on drugs .. like the ones he sells (xanax and morphine)) wasn't just so inebriated that he nodded out. I could see him being on the porch during the day with the child and this happening. This would give reason for the "only a diaper". Maybe it was in the evening and by the time he "came to" it was getting dark. With his priors and being on probation - he decided HIS life was more vital and went in to hide .. like the coward that he is. I really hate to think of all the possibilities. I often wondered if there were large dogs near there or roaming.

Years before Jevon Wameling’s own 9-month-old son went missing in Utica last month, Wameling was dating another woman whose baby died unexpectedly while they were sleeping, officials said.

The 13-day-old baby’s death in 2005 was ruled an accidental suffocation at the time, and police say the baby’s mother never suspected back then that Wameling played any role in the death.

But after hearing about the suspicious circumstances surrounding the May 29 disappearance of Wameling’s son Levon, the previous baby’s mother called Utica police last week to express her concerns.

Now, as police begin their second week of searching for Levon, Utica police officials say they plan to take another look at the previous baby’s death.
But that re-investigation will have to come at a later time, since the main focus right now is for police to find out what happened to Levon, Utica police Chief Mark Williams said Tuesday.

“Eventually, at some point we will look at this case,” Williams said of the earlier death. “Certainly, this is something down the road that we’ll revisit, but we’ve got a lot of work to do in this current case.”

In the previous incident, the baby was found dead on the mother’s chest while she slept with Wameling, who she was dating at the time.

Police consider Wameling, 27, to be a “person of interest” in Levon’s disappearance, but note that he is not being accused of any wrongdoing in the previous baby death.

“We have no proof that he did anything wrong then, and we have no proof that he did anything wrong now,” Williams said regarding the earlier baby’s death. “The mother’s not saying he did it, but now she thinks there might be some doubt after learning of Jevon’s connection to this missing baby.”

I think if the baby crawled away he would have been found by now. No way would a 9 month old crawl away and hide himself so well no trace of him would be found.

The father had two weeks to hide him. He could have hidden him in another state for all we know.

Look at how much time Julia had to hide Skye. I'm afraid this is going to be another similiar situation.

I want Levon found and I want this responsible held to the fullest extent of the law.

I think Levon will be found. The father isn't even a decent criminal when it comes to hiding himself from LE let alone a baby. I really felt mixed emotions about one of the signs at the vigil. It had the date of the 28th written on it, and the first time I viewed it I had to do a double take. 05-28-13 was written and I swear I thought that meant he was deceased that day. I'm guessing that's the last day he was seen alive?

D'Andre Lane isn't the brightest crayon in the box either, and Bianca has never been found. Police believe she was discarded in an incinerator and DL had far less time to hide his daughter than JW had to hide Levon.

I hope Levon is found, but I have to say it is going to be an uphill battle due to the delay between Levon's disappearance and his being reported. Not to mention JW's lack of cooperation. All he has to do at this point, is stay silent.
