Hi dc! The doc has never stated in any of his brief interviews that he has ever seen Shannan. Might be thinking of the radio interview of Shannan's sister where she states that he told her mother...?

CBS Local is the only one I can find who reported it this way. MSM has been reporting it as the Gilbert family or Shannan's sister said that...

I'm definitely thinking of the interview he did with Jennifer McLogan from CBS. I've never heard the interview with Shannen's sister.

Melissa was the first of the 4 they've found so far. 2007. Then 2009, 2010, 2010.

So if he DID confess to more than one and he was telling the truth... they WOULD have more bodies to find.

That might explain why they are SO sure there are more bodies.



LE has said they believe Melissa was dead before the first phone call was made. I don't know. There have been a couple other cases where the family was taunted like this. Generally if the person was alive, they were heard on the phone call to further torture the family... if they weren't alive they weren't heard.

Melissa's little sister's name starts with Am.... what is her middle name, is it LYNN too?

Because that would be a little creepy.

See, I thought it a bit odd.... Melissa, Maureen, Megan.... Amber? WTF? Must be a coincidence, but personally it just bugged me to have a pattern and break it.

Unless Amber Lynn was very close to Melissa's sister's name and set him off for that reason?

Since we know that for some reason he focused on Melissa and her little sister, for 6 weeks after he took Melissa. Maybe he DID want to take her little sister but decided it was too risky. So he "settled" for Amber Lynn in her place? Do they look anything alike?

It seems crazy... but so does only killing people with double initials (PP, TT, CC, MM, WW, CC) some of which are also from a town starting in that same letter. :waitasec:

I agree but imagine this- how perfect would it be if LE saw a 4X4 with a permit pulled over on the North Side of the road for the owner of that truck to say that he just came off the beach fishing and needed to inflate his tires some more (or tie down his fishing gear a bit better) for the drive home.

Do you think LE would think twice about this?

With that being said, the bodies were found to the West of the town access road to the beaches right? If so, then the SK possibly lives to the West in Nassau County!

True but if he had a permit I would think it would be easier to dump the bodies in the 4WD area. There are plenty of wooded areas as you enter Sore Thumb.

You know what is odd about that picture in the add? It is almost the exact opposite of adds from other escorts that I have been seeing. It could be on a Christmas card!! They look like they are in a nice home and have just finished dinner or something. They aren't even dressed sexy. We know he said something about killing Melissa after having sex with her.

So he probably said and "I had sex with your sister, then I killed her and I killed another girl too." Or "those 6 other girls." Or maybe he said he had killed another girl in a previous phone call, to scare them. Or whatever it was.

If he confessed to more than Melissa, it was probably something simple just added on to when he told them Melissa was dead. Or something said previously. That last one was a 40 second phone call, so it wasn't a long elaborate confession.

I doubt he said "I committed murders."

So if he was specific and he was telling the truth... they WOULD have more bodies to find.

That would also fit far more with the thinking that this guy is wanting to brag. If he gave Melissa's sister a number... bragging about how many he has killed.

That makes sense.

It is possible to be a prostitute (and definitely a madam) at age 57. I saw several comments from johns on those review sites that suggested women were far too old to "arouse" them. Still, it seems more likely that an escort who goes by Italia just heard someone else's name and decided to use it. I can't quite discard it as an odd coincidence.
