CC or Check would leave a trail, Cash would not. If you go online you need a CC. I'm just trying to see if a person could do it all many times without leaving any trail whatsoever

Here on Long Island they sell those disposable cell phones at 7-11 Stores and you can recharge them with CASH.

Also, play the vid. It says "they're narrowing in on the killer (or killers)." They apparently have several "suspects" in their sights. And they state (paraphrased), "leads normal life, may have an IQ+120 and may be in LE.." Comparing him to BTK, though, I will admit, I'm not seeing BTK, here, considering that guy broke into homes and tortured/murdered his vics. Abducting & murdering a prostitute req a lot less finesse so to speak. This is not to say its less horrible, just that it would not require the same "social skills."

Not sure why people keep insisting that cell phones or digital connections can be tracked.
Too much watching silly shows like CSI i guess.
One more time:
The SK used pay-as-you-go or disposable cell phones to contact his victims.
These phones can be purchased with cash in places like Walmart or in small shops in NYC and no personal info has to be entered when using them. The Exact location of the phones cannot be known unless a trace is started by LE.
I am sure the SK used a different disposable phone to contact each victim to avoid being traced.

Same thing with digital computer connections. Some of the biggest oil companies, security analysts and even security companies like RSA have been hacked and the perpetrators have yet to be found by the FBI. There are ways to avoid being tracked online. The methods are outside the realm of this thread but it can be done by people who are not computer security professionals.

Your fooling yourself if you think the Gov cannot find you with a Cell phone in your pocket! Nothing to do with CSI. Better yet the FBI can turn your Cell Phone into a Microphone and listen to what's going on in the Area. It is not so hard to believe check it out. Can these things be canceled out? of course, the average person does not have the skills, time and Money for counter intelligence.
Will LE use this technology on this case is another question.

Today's search apparently didn't uncover much, according to LE: http://www.cnn.com/2011/CRIME/04/14/new.york.bodies/index.html?hpt=Sbin

The article also says Gus Coletti is claiming the police didn't talk to him. I think there's a little CYA going on here.

Police later clarified that they spoke with Coletti on May 1 after he made the 911 call and several times since.

Pressed for the dates of the police department's conversations with Coletti and the length of time between them, they revealed that they obtained a statement from Coletti in June but provided no further specifics.

"They never got a statement from me in June," Coletti told CNN.

BBM

For what it's worth, in the case of MB, the killer called the sister using MB's cellphone. It's fair to assume that MB might have used a throwaway phone due to her profession, but we don't know for a fact that it was.

They were talking about BTK's role in the community and the way he appeared to other people, not about his victims. They seem to think they're looking for somebody respected and respectable.

Exactly as I pictured him. He's someone fatherly, quiet, almost meek. A pillar in the community, probably goes to church with his wife and kids, maybe even holds a position in his church. And that world is extremely important to him. That's why I don't believe he dismembers or keeps bodies. He's compelled to kill, but once the deed is done, he's desperate to distance himself from the act emotionally, otherwise, his worlds begin to collide.

I'd also bet there is somewhere other than home where he takes these women...a nearby hotel, a private boat, perhaps an office (if he owns a business).

all just MOO

It's been such a long time or I am just getting old, Much of it came to light when George Bush Signed the USA PATRIOT Act, twice.

Things to consider:

1. A prostitute might carry more than one phone. One could be for business, and one could be a personal phone. You certainly wouldn't want to answer a client's call with the voice that you use when a family member is calling. And you can't always look to see who it is before you pick up.

2. Shannan might have received a call or text while at the house. That could have been the trigger for her hysteria.

3. Shannan left an escort service to work on her own. I recall that someone said it was a bad idea. Maybe it was the sister? Isn't it possible that the escort service sent girls who tried to work on their own out to Jones Beach, where they were killed? When a girl leaves, that is bad for business. I think we need to consider the organized crime side of things a little more. We know that drugs were involved. We know there was an escort service at one point.

4. Lastly, it seems like it would be difficult to stuff a body into a burlap sack. And how many of you can pick up a 120-pound sack and toss it more than a few feet? I know I can't. I would have to drag something that heavy. That would mean leaving bits of burlap behind as a clue. The killer has to be someone who is relatively strong.

Thanks, SB. Just to clarify, these are the addresses I have:

GC: 17 The Fairway (boat and gatehouse both visibile on Google Earth)

JB: 8 The Fairway (this residence is NOT Oceanside, therefore there is no dock. The Fairway runs in front of the house, Oak Beach Rd. runs behind it.)

PH: 47 Larboard Ct (I see now that you are correct about there being no eastern exit from this residence, so you're right...no need for a gate. Must be seeing a shadow across street or something. Thanks for clarifying.)

I'm not sure why some WSers are saying there is a dock at JB's house, unless they have an address that is different from mine. I cross checked my address many times...it's 8 The Fairway for sure. :waitasec:

I know! Google has the addresses on that street listed wrong.

. But the house that people think is JBS house is not his house it is GC house,GC has the dock and JB house is across the street which has OBP behind it. The house on the corner I dont even get.

When JB house was searched and the media shot a picture of his house it showed the correct house.

Gus has 2 boats.

I think we need to consider the organized crime side of things a little more.

Not at all likely. Organized crime either leaves no bodies (no bodies = no murder charges) or they send a message by making the hit something very public (like a drive-by shooting). Dumping bodies where they will surely be found but not for a while isn't the style of organized crime.

He might dismember, I think, but only as an efficient disposal strategy.

No, the gov will NOT be able to find me with a cell in my pocket, if the cell is turned off and i remove the battery or if i buy another disposable phone or if i am in the middle of Times Square walking with hundreds of other people, or if i am in a stadium full of people, etc

Does it take a lot of brains or "skills" to turn off your cell phone, or remove the battery from it, or call from Times Square or Grand Central Station? I don't think so.

I am not even going to address the "turn your phone into a microphone" rumour LOL
I am sure you already know, the government can also scan your thoughts with microwaves, which is why everyone should line their bedroom walls and ceiling with silver foil, LOL

If it's the kind of burlap sack used for sack races, it's pretty easy. Picture pulling the bag over your legs for the race, then squatting down in it. Human bodies don't take up as much space as you would think -- that's how they get 15 people in a Cooper Mini.

I can appreciate that view. In fact, it wouldn't make sense for there to be a mocking phone call to family if it was a hit.

In terms of finding the bodies, I'm not sure the killer wanted them found at all. Apparently, some of the bodies have been there for awhile, and all of them would have gone unnoticed for heaven knows how long if SG had not called 911 on that crazy night.

A hitman also would explain why some of the bodies are male and why other details do not match.

Here is something taken from the following link:

Kapatiran USA, Inc. is a Filipino organized crime group known until recently as Kapatiran. The group “represents” (victimizes by extortion) many Filipino businesses in Jersey City. White Tigers is a Chinese-Filipino street gang operating in New Jersey and based in New York City. Two smaller, more youthful and localized Filipino street gangs are All Crazy Kids (ACK) and True Filipino Blood (TFB). In addition to extortion of legitimate businesses, these groups engage in narcotics trafficking and assaults.

We know that one witness saw an Asian man, and we know that an Asian man once was arrested along with SG on a call.

Gonna have to respectfully disagree with you here, Carbuff. I can't see our SK having the mettle to dismember. Too gory, requires too much contact with the bodies, too much dirty deed staring him right in the face. I'm absolutely convinced he's heavy into BDSM, strangles for sexual gratification, but once the actual death occurs, he needs to distance himself QUICK. Not because he feels remorse over a dead hooker (he doesn't), but because it threatens the life he inhabits outside of this fantasy world. I see him as constantly struggling to keep these 2 world separate. Dismemberment? Just can not see that.

I think MB's mom said she continued to pay for the phone for a year.....in hopes of getting more info, I assume.

Good point. And I agree, he likely presents as an upstanding citizen.

Right. And he called a few times a week over the course of several weeks. So apparently, he's NOT much of a stickler about only using throwaway phones.
