Security cameras may hold clues in NJ woman's disappearance
(04/11/11) OAK BEACH - Security cameras in Oak Beach may have captured the final moments of 24-year-old Shannan Gilbert almost one year ago, but Suffolk County police have had no comment about the presence of the cameras.
"It was more for security- if somebody hit the gate we knew who should pay for the repair. It wasn't really for any other purpose," says Oak Beach resident Susan Kane about the security cameras.

There are a total of four cameras in the vicinity - two on the gatehouse that focus on the entrance and exit to the community and two others mounted on a nearby pole.

Police say Gilbert, who worked online as a prostitute, was last seen running and screaming from a client's house in Oak Beach. The client has not been named as a suspect.

they just showed the cameras on the local news, no work if any info on the cameras, but residents thinking it might just tape over continuously--for heaven's sake, it should have been investigated the night the 911 tape happened

Kids, it's my first post here. I hope I don't create any issues. I just took the timeline someone else posted and added in a few things I had on a timeline for the Daytona Beach killings. I believe they've been discussed in the past.

Before I paste the timeline, here is what I have to add. The Daytona Beach killings all fall within a period that does not conflict with any of the disappearances in New York or New Jersey. Three of the Daytona Beach killings took place during the winter of 2005/2006. The fourth, which has been linked to the same person, took place during the winter of 2008. Both were around holidays, too.

All of the New York/Jersey killings have taken place during the spring and summer months.

If we operate on the theory that all three (New York, Jersey and Daytona Beach) are the same person, we can establish a few other theories.

1. This person is a seasonal traveler and prefers coastal communities that are also tourist destinations. This person keeps a low profile.

The person must be working or vacationing in these areas. It could be someone traveling by boat. It could be a fisherman who works different areas during different times of the year.

Now, the Daytona Beach person used a gun. That didn't happen in the other cases. This might not rule out a connection. Instead, it might indicate that the person decided to switch methods. Perhaps the person was arrested and had to surrender the weapon. Or maybe the person threw out the weapon for fear of being caught.

Has anyone checked out touristy cities along the East Coast? It might fill a few of the blanks on this timeline.

Hours later, police also found the bodies of Molly Jean Dilts, 20, Barbara Breidor, 42, and Tracy Ann Roberts, 23. They had been there for several weeks. Two had been strangled.

Judy Rivers, Fairfield CT area, Saturday August 30, 2008. She is believed to be a runaway. Per the Norwalk Police Department, Judy is a ward of the State of New York who was placed in Connecticut. She left with a boyfriend and has not been seen or heard from since.

FYI the bird sanctuary where they found the skull has alot of trails back there and where people hangout. Right next to that is Tobay Beach where there is a restaurant called Singletons Seaford Shack. The Tobay Beach parking lot on the westside has access to these trails where cars drive through back there. No one is allowed back there but people go back there anyway.

Would you be able to make a map with the locations of the new remains discoveries? My computer and map making don't get along.

And has anyone figured out which location the toddler was at?

Hi, NurseBeeMe, if you mean dismissed as a suspect, there's my hand. I think that johns are loathsome, but I think that everything so far points to an unknown man in a car who saw an attractive, very intoxicated young woman who seemed disoriented and took advantage of her.

If that's true, explain the four other women who all met their demise after meeting up with a john from craigslist....I think its weird that he lives so close to where the bodies were found and he gets women from craigslist...this is NOT a very populated area.

I also think there is a commonality between the victims in LI and AC we have not been told about.

We have learned 2 of the victims were asphyxiated. A Dr on NG just pointed out that is not strangulation, and that for asphyxiation there would have to be some soft tissue to make that finding. This Dr suggested like placing a bag over the head of the victim.

I wonder if it could be something like a bag that ties LI to AC? Were the AC killings particularly brutal or did they show signs of torture?

This isn't what I've read.

I couldn't disagree more. Maybe it's because I live in the area and know how desolate the area is and how most people from Long Island have never even been there. JB said some things that don't add up at all to SG's sister the week after her disappearance. He told them on the podcast that she didn't look like her picture and he told her to leave...three hours later she was still at the house culminating on her screaming someone is trying to kill her.

I think he will be arrested. If I'm wrong, I'll buy you a beer...

Not true according to two victim's families who received death certificates, per New York Post. The death was listed as homicidal asphyxiation.

OK everyone who has seen that pic of the white truck on Ocean Parkway...Someone posted it in the WAY beginning. Forgot who sorry.
I think I found ANOTHER image of the same truck on Bing! Please let me know if this is an ADDITIONAL image of the SAME truck. It looks like a different angle, but I could be wrong. I can't find the original photo.

To me it does look like a pickup with a camper shell thingy..
