This is OT but, does anyone know of an official WS list of what is considered MSM?

I don't know where there is an official list (perhaps a mod can help point that out for you), but I do know that msm includes ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, FOX, MSNBC, local news organizations, and articles from Examiner.com if it's written by the female writer who's name starts with a "z" (sorry, I can't recall her name offhand).

I believe somebody is trying to get the public to believe all sorts of unbelievable things about SG, our inside informer is letting us know that the doc has a very strong interest in convincing people she died by accident.

@ MADD is correct… The body was “aged” in another location and place there… Quote from the doc ” thank god they found her, maybe things will go back to normal because people around here were starting to believe I was a suspect.” those are not the words of an honest or innocent man.

Not to nitpick, Truth (because you know I value your posts), but doesn't this really belong in the rumor thread? There's nothing to substantiate that CPH ever said anything of the sort, save from a comment from a poster on another site.

My concern is that posters will read something like that, it gets stuck in their heads, and then turns into, "Well I read somewhere that CPH was making strange comments about LE finding SG".

It's interesting, but it's not an established fact, know what I mean?

I respectfully disagree that this is not clearly water. It is concentrated in the canals. Use Bing Maps and pan across the area. Those lines are not pathways. These are canals. You can see more water in the canals behind Circle Drive. I can assure you that the entire general light brown area in which these canals are concentrated is subsumed in at least a foot or two of water.

I've attached an image that might give a better idea of how this area might have looked on May 1st after (1) record rainfall that scientists said had nowhere to go (2) record high water tables (3) high tides for the year in the week preceding (4) a Nor'easter on April 17 bringing wind, rain and high tides. This image is from just north of Oak Beach behind Captree Island.

I also believe that in extremely high tides, saltwater will flow into and flood this area through the eastern side, between the bridge and the houses. There are runoff marks in the sand and a main canal travels all the way east and then makes a sharp turn to the south. I attached an image of where I think these canals are running.

No one is giving anyone a "hard time"....we're simply questioning the premise that Gilbert drowned when it's evident the area her remains were found wasn't a big pond or under water. Yes there is water near there....yes it is a "marshy" area. Could she have gotten stuck in mud? Possibly. But drowning? I think it's highly improbable.

The FBI took to the air today to assist the Long Island serial killer investigation. That depends where they were looking. The other bodies were all on the north side of OP and further west.

Either way, the ME will be able to tell whether or not the body was there the whole time or placed there just a few months ago.

If police are only waiting on toxicology or other lab results to determine Gilbert's cause of death, why have they not released Gilbert's remains to her family for burial yet?

If her body was in the same location for over a year and a half, there should have been some plant growth through and around the bones. It ought to be pretty obvious. Also plant material attaches to and sometimes grows through clothing fibers. Not too long ago, while hiking, I came across a pink shirt or blouse in the fallen leaves. After all the reading I do here, my first thought was nefarious. It always is now...whenever I stumble upon articles of clothing in the woods. Anyway, I lifted the shirt with a stick and saw lots of green and brown algae-like particles that had become part of the material.

The Point is: If Shannan's jeans or other clothing show proof of this type of plant growth then I would likely believe she had been there for a long time.

Hi Intspctrgadget, When looking at that first photo of yours {brown dirt with pond areas} I think we need to take the relative size of the area and the ponds into consideration.

That one pond closest to the 2 houses shown on the bottom left gives a good comparison, the pond being about 2x as long as the house is wide. The pond is substantially sized and no one would run smack into it IMO. They'd most likely circumvent it, especially if the sun was rising.

~ The fact her pants were said to be 'ripped' is the only reason I think she ever set foot in that brambl'ed marsh. I think she was pulled into a vehicle down at the end of Anchor Way after leaving BB's house ~ or close to the end of A Way. I believe that as Mari and Shannan's sister were told you could hear that happening on the 911 calll. I have that link in my Favorites if needed here. I have no idea where BB lives except down in that area.

~ Then I think her belongings were placed where they were found and her remains laid out for discovery where they were found as well. I think they had been stored by the killer someplace and he figured the time was right to get them out of that place IMO.

This is from the "Praying for Shannan Maria Gilbert" Facebook page posted on January 19th. I am wondering if this means the remains were released to the family for burial. I am not sure what the significance of this may be to our sleuthing, but just thought I would throw this out there since the issue was brought up.

We will be doing a private burial ceremony for Shannan at her birth place, in Pennyslvania. When we get more details about the location of the cemetery, day & time, we will notify each individual who would like to attend. I know it is far & out of the way for most people however, there may be carpooling opportunites...

Thank you for all your unconditional support & help during these difficult times. We genuinely appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts & are forever grateful.

Thanks for that MrsPC. It must be that forensic testing on bones takes longer than tissue or fluids. IMO

PS: I am thankful the Gilbert's have some of Shannan's remains to place at rest.

If Shannan was screaming at the top of her lungs in Oak Beach AFTER going to GC's (- as LE and the commissioner who is now retired said she was, as well as every article ever written on the young lady)

and if she was screaming things like "help help - they're trying to kill me"
and apparently PA(???) and BB heard the screams...and called LE.

Something doesnt make sense - the hour was an extremely QUIET hour of the day. With that kind of silence outside in nature --- and being as they were on the water You can hear things from far far away.

LE has said she was "screaming and acting inappropriate" - so also since water CARRIES sound.....how come MP didnt mention her screams - while he was "searching" for her before high tailing it out of oak beach before the police arrived? MP has said he was searching for her - so how come he never heard her screams? He was much closer than GC???????? He never said he heard her screams when he was interviewed on A&E show.

That just has bothered me....the whole time.

That page of photos are from random years mixed together (dating back as far as ten years or so). I have to find them, but I did upload photos from 2010 and 2011.

He must have just left asap as soon as heard police were coming or he grabbed her and did something, imo.
