I bought Newsday yesterday. It says retracing Shannan steps. It shows a map of where she went that night.
1. SG calls police at JB house on May 1st in Oak Beach then flees.

2. Gilbert knocks on door of a neighbor, GC. He calls 911. Shows a pic of his house. its the 4-5 houses away, on a corner, on same road as JB.

3. SG hides in nearby bushes. She then returns back to GC house and hides behind a boat. (the pic shows a marked area right across from GC house where the boat is).

4. GC last sees SG running south on Galley East Street. GC lives on the corner of The Fairway and Galley East St.

Did GC call 911 as well?

New York law enforcement officials began searching a 15-mile swath of Long Island's most popular beachfront Friday as the investigation widened into the grisly discovery of the remains of four women, as authorities concluded that a missing New Jersey woman was not one of the victims.
Suffolk County, N.Y., investigators also were continuing to work with authorities in Atlantic City, N.J., to see if there is any connection to the 2006 murders of four prostitutes, a case that remains unsolved.

Since this is my area I will chime in, Charles Eugene Burns was convicted of attacks on 6 prostitutes in the area, he has been incarcerated since 2007 and I believe has multiple life sentences. At trial the evidence was overwhelming, his DNA on victims, their DNA in his vehicle, witnesses who survived, I also believe his DNA was sent out to various other agencies who were investigating similiar cases.

I am very convinced this is a local guy who trolls and dumps in an area he is very familiar with. I am starting to think that Brewer is very much the guy to look at, his attitude has been very suspect to say the least. He comes across with a "why are the police messing with me, I have been cooperative, I don't understand this, the truth will come out, etc" and I am thinking, well for starters you recruited a prostitute to your house, she ran out saying you specifically were trying to kill her, and she hasn't been seen since and is presumed dead.

Here is a good picture of JB, along with an aerial view of his home from the side and one from the front. Pretty isolated, really... All of these are from this article. Go to the article, and then click on "Photo's, Four Bodies Found Along Beach".

Wow... all I can say is that this is one desolate location. (And I grew up in Long Island and now live in rural Manitoba). I wouldn't have wanted to be a person like SG, not knowing the area and being allegedly chased by someone who wanted to do her harm -- no matter the reason she was there. It would be scary, especially at night.

Thanks for the link and photos.

Thanks still reading the threads.....

Interesting about your thoughts on Brewer...reminds me of Gary Ridgeway:waitasec:

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (AP) - It is unlikely that additional bodies will be found along a seaside road where the corpses of four women were discovered in recent days, a police official said Friday, emphasizing that detectives remain open to any scenario to explain their discovery.

Despite comments earlier in the week from Suffolk County Police Commissioner Richard Dormer that it appeared possible the deaths of the four women were the result of a serial killer, Deputy Inspector William Neubauer told reporters Friday that detectives were not limiting themselves to any theory.

Gilgo Beach probe gives hope to parents in '94 cold case.

(12/17/10) WOODBURY - The ongoing investigation into the four female bodies found near Gilgo Beach over the past week is giving new hope to the parents of a Holbrook woman who was found murdered in 1994.

Charlotte and Larry McNamee say they're hoping this case will get police to revisit their daughter's cold case.

Colleen McNamee was found strangled off of the Long Island Expressway near the William Floyd Parkway. The killer has never been found, and the McNamees, who now live in North Carolina, say their contact with police has become almost nonexistent.

(12/17/10) OAK BEACH - Investigators have ended their search for human remains on Ocean Parkway after using cadaver dogs and helicopters to scour the 10-mile stretch.

The K-9 search was pushed from the western Suffolk County portion of the Ocean Parkway into Nassau County. The parkway was closed between the Robert Moses Causeway and the Wantagh State Parkway from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to investigate the possibility of more bodies.

During a press conference this afternoon, Deputy Inspector William Neubauer told the media that state police have completed their search of the area, but the Suffolk County K-9 unit will remain on the scene near Oak Beach. Neubauer also indicated that a decision to continue searching the area will be made later today.

Investigators say they have no evidence indicating that Megan Waterman is among the bodies found. Waterman, 22, was last seen on Long Island while working as an escort. She was last seen in June at a Hauppauge Holiday Inn.

The Suffolk County Medical Examiner's Office announced last night that it had determined through analysis of forensic evidence and medical records that missing prostitute Shannan Gilbert, 23, was not among the bodies found. The search for Gilbert last Saturday led investigators to stumble upon the remains of the four bodies that were found.

Cops say they are searching through thousands of missing persons' reports in the area in hopes of identifying the bodies, but they admit that there is a possibility that they may never find out who the victims were.

Here is one other picture from the same link as above. It would have been a scary place to be running from house to house at night!!

The house marked in this photo is a different address then the house they were showing. the house they were showing is 17 fairway oak beach. So is this the house GC lives in ?

yes you're right. as I had previously said they're not close together and most of the properties are separated by marsh brush and/or dunes
