I took a look at the site, they're running the same forum software as WS, but they have a feature enabled that this site doesn't. The "distinguished road" thing is just a general forum admin-generated line about how many posts he has. If you look at some of the people with a higher post count, they have a few more boxes and a different tagline. So everyone with one green box indicates they have a certain number of posts, and all users with that many posts will have the same distinguished road tagline.

ETA: Just looking at that site gives me the creeps. This definitely needs to be passed on to LE. Good find!

My minds going a mile a minute.... Hitman made the second post on 6/3/10 Megan went missing on 6/6/10 and was on LI from at least 6/4 or 6/5... I'm pretty sure those CL escort ads have a pretty fast rate of turnover and Megan's ad says that she's back in town and ready to meet up with old friends and make new ones. I assume this is something girls say when they're traveling and I know Megan and Akeem made several trips to Long Island. But what I don't get is if Hitman is linking to an ad placed for LI, why is he doing that if he's from NH? Also... why was this posted on the New England part of the website? I think he was responding to an ad Megan placed before her trip to LI. Hitmans first post about Megan was on 5/31, during the week before Megan was on LI so he was probably responding to another ad she placed for services in the New England area.

Maybe he eventually did get a response via PM and met up with her on LI (based on his other posts, it seems like he travels a lot). The problem with that is unless he's got some sort of long-term tie to LI, why would he kill 4 women here over the course of 3 years? Anyway, just venting my thoughts. Any theories, guys?

Add: I know that's a review website and not the actual website she was posting these ads on so when I say "responding to an ad" I mean "reacting to" or "re-posting"

Hi svpernin, I copied and pasted her ad that he put there, put it in quotation marks, and googled it. It gave me her ad she posted on backpage.com and it was posted in the Maine section on May 31, 2010.
New Hampshire is a small state, and on backpage, there isn't much of a selction in that state, and maybe to be safe, he looks for escorts from neighboring states? But to tie it to Long Island, I dont know...

I don't want to bombard her with messages but I will try and ask her what she meant in that post. If you visit their FB pages, the whole family seems to allude to knowing more about what happened that day with Cruz. But I'm not sure they want any of it made public... maybe LE told them to keep it quiet, I don't know.

Except, these ads were posted June July 2009 they used the name "Jasmine" and was described as a brunette and in Massapequa (where Barthelemy called her voicemail, I think) and in Hempstead. This can be Megan since she wasn't a natural blonde, or it can be a friend of hers, or another girl that maybe Akeem Cruz was pimping. Maybe it was the girl that had the laptop.

I wonder if this was Akeem's phone, a general business phone, or Megan's personal cell phone number or what? It IS a Maine area code...

Did you find any photos of other girls?

I was only able to find the Jasmine ads and reviews. Yes, Massapequa was where Melissa called her voicemail last. Is it possible that Jasmine is Melissa? I'm working on trying to get a picture but obviously the original CL ad is gone now. The dates kinda work out. Melissa was last seen on 7/12/09. These ads are from 6/16/09 and 7/2/09. It could be her, I really wish we could get a picture. Keep looking, internetgirl, if anyone can find it, it's you. It'd be helpful to find the name Melissa and the other girls used in their ads. If it does end up to be her, it means Megan and Melissa were working with the same pimp/pimps/agency/whatever, which would be a huge deal. That phone number comes up a lot on massive lists of escort service phone numbers and we know it was used on Megan's backpage ad.

SBM.... I spent some time last night looking over the google hits I got based off those phone numbers, text strings, and names. I agree that those guys are pretty much disgusting. I wrote some of their user names down because there were several that made comments that caused me to raise my eyebrows and if I were in LE, I would check these guys out further. I don't have the information in front of me right now, but one of the guys was going on and on about his "SO" (significant other) not being up to par with some of the escort girls, and he just wasn't satisfied with his wife and mother of his children. He made other comments that were misogenistic towards both the escort girls and his "SO". At the end of his post he said something like "But then all women are bad". Just the tone of his postings revealed someone that is obviously obsessed with sex, but hates women. If he isn't a serial killer, he is still a *#*$ #@!&!

Minazoe, I agree, I think it's a SK and I think it's a john. But the dates and locations for those ads along with the repeat phone number stood out to me. I highly doubt it's pimps killing off their escorts because as you said, they would be easily traceable and caught quickly. And as I've said in earlier posts, these girls didn't appear to be executed and disposed of by any organized crime unit. There was something more personal/sexual and almost ritualistic to it. Having said that, I just would really like to see a pic of this "Jasmine" girl to confirm that she's not Melissa.

Looking through all of these disgusting, degrading escort sites, there are A LOT of x-rated photos, and foul language used to lure every john in that they can. But looking at Waterman's posts (the one Hitman quoted with her photo, and the one on myproviderguide.com in the New York), they are pretty tastefull and G-rated... titled, "jump into a world like no other" and "one of a kind"...fully clothed in photos, and no foul language. Compared to the 100s of other providers, it does seem to me that prostitution wasn't something she really wanted to do.

On the other hand, the 2009 Jasmine posts, are more..."to the point," should I say? Sneaking in the word "an@l" and titling the posts "the best inexpensive he@d"...It just doesn't seem like a Megan "Lexy" post.

At first I thought she may have been brunette in 2009, and may have changed her name...but I think the style of ads changed, as if a different type of girl was being advertised...

-If Akeem introduced her to escorting and craigslist, and she didn't know him in 2009, then, it may have been another girl he was working with.

-If she was doing this on her own already, then maybe she posted independently as Jasmine and then her name, hair, and style of post changed when she started working with Akeem...

chemcopout, I recall a little bit of the story out of Vegas that you mentioned, but not enough. Can you please elaborate more about the pimp mafia? Why do they kill the girls? Is it a result of the girls resisting being recruited into the pimps employment? Competition, etc?

I thought strangulation too and don't know why exactly. Perhaps it is because I read alot on the Rodney Alcala thread and he would choke his victims almost to the point of death and then revive them only to repeat the process. If the victims were indeed choked then I hope LE encourages girls to come forward with information regarding clients whose freak is the choking game. If the COD was choking to death then there is the slim possiblity that these deaths were accidental due to the killers fantasy. I know, I know it is not really probable that these women died accidentally but I did say a 'slim possibility':crazy: I am trying to look at all angles here.

My opinion regarding the phone call to Melissa's family is that the killer simply wished to blame the victim for her own death. As if he wanted the family to know that she was a prostitute and she died because of her lifestyle, not because of his own doing. It sounds as though he is tying to absolve himself (in his mind) of any responsibility for Melissa's demise.

The calls originating from Manhatten is intriguing to me....the perp called from Penn Station, Madison Square Garden and 'by' Times Square. I wish I were a mapping whiz. I am a visual person and would like to see the proximity of these locations and also know more about what types of businesses are there. Were there any special events in these areas at the time of the calls, etc. I wish to insert here that I am not alluding to a JE connection, I just feel the origination and intervals and days of the week of these phone calls is the biggest clue we have really, because the perp apparently frequents these areas.

OT I have visited 39 US states. My trip to NYC was thwarted years ago by Hurricane Fran when our airport in NC was shut down! I hope to have another chance to visit someday!

honestly i don't remember much what was said on it about the pimp mafia, although i do know that the girls that were saved were extremely afraid of the pimp mafia, as they have beaten and killed girls before.

the killer seems to have an extreme hatred against prostitutes and targets them. for whatever reason he targeted bathelemy's family to harass.

imo, he may strangle them as that's very personal and he can watch the life leave their eyes. he's likely familiar with the nyc area.
he also seems to know how to cover his tracks on the internet very well, i always thought craigslist posts would be saved in some database somewhere.

originally the killer would have to reply to the post, unless the girl put either her email or cell number in it, avoiding the craigslist anon address forwarded to one's email.

the areas the perp called from all have a lot of businesses and people around, it's almost like blending into plain sight. a sea of people, especially rush hours. i wonder what time he made those calls to barthelemy's family..

But I think the 1000 number was the distance between the first body found and the last body found. So, they found the first body... 500 ft/yrds to the left, another...500 ft/yrds to the right, another..and a little further, 1000 ft/yrds to the right ( in relation to the first body found ) was the last. So, I do think they were the same distance apart.

Now about Waterman..I found a site that allows Craigslist users to give reviews..not sure if it is JUST reviews on the adult services section or what, but...

ig, this is excellent sleuthing, i'd report it to le in case they can use it. it's almost like either the killer is "testing the waters" to see if anyone realized she was missing.
or maybe even akeem had someone post it thinking megan ditched out on him.
in either case, anyone who goes through that much trouble of copying and pasting her pic & ad; it's definitely odd. i mean if he had a bad experience why bother to slander megan? why not just leave it at that?

then he says he "took one for the team" TOFTT a team would imply more than one person. yet it's very doubtful that the serial killer is more than one, yet i guess you never know. the person who posted it may want to give the impression there is more than one. if he doesn't want to waste his money again, then obviously he could just ask the individual girl if she was megan.
this is way too suspicious, i'd definitely report what you found to le.

the locations of the bodies are so exact, it's almost as if the killer has ocd with that. i doubt it's coincidence. i wonder if he was going by mile markers when he dumped the bodies, i'd think it would be hard to be that precise.

what i can tell you is the site is a legit agency put together for a major company or organization which could be state or government. (.org)
it says .com on the site, however in the coding it is LINKED to a .ORG it is legit

.org's are moreso learning sites, as opposed to .coms

a lot of state agency's school's companies use .orgs.

although there is no date i could find; my guess it's been up around since the killings just started. it's possible it's being used to track hits or links that it gets. it is an information site usually put together by local, federal agencies, or big companies.

they used scripts and works from a popular web designer in portland (or got his permission) also helping prove it's legit. it's definitely not a homemade random site.

i was also thinking it could be some type of "code words" used by johns or pimps even to communicate with one another.

if this person knows where megan's hometown is, it may be why he only posted it in new england. what i don't understand is complaining about a girl's services to the extreme he did. so i think it's more than complaining, it's almost like he's warning other johns by posting her pic, ad, details so that they don't go to her.

I have been trying to find out more information on MELISSA BARTHELEMY. It's amazing what you can find out about some people on the internet! You can find addresses, phone numbers, and partial email addresses. So, ya'll should check out this site SPOKEO.COM :shush: and search away!
But, googling the phone numbers I found, gave no interesting result...maybe I overlooked something...

Also, Im not sure if this has been talked about already, but I believe I came across Barthelemy's FB. Her default pic is her standing in a little black shirt/dress? and it was taken in a hotel room.
Then, the photo of Barthelemy that is all over the news was cropped. The original picture is on one of her family member's FB. Looking at the original pic, you can tell Barthelemy is sitting in a car, scantily dressed. She doesn't look like she's going to a club, or hanging out with her girlfriends, having a good time. This looks like a photo someone would take to send to an escort service to show the operator what they look like.
Then, on PEEKYOU.COM there is a photo of her and another female. To me, they both look like working girls waiting for a call from an escort agency telling them they have booked an appointment. And an agency would schedule a petite blonde and a tall black girl to travel with the same driver.

A picture is worth a THOUSAND WORDS!!

These photos, and finding no advertisments with her phone number, make me feel like she wasn't working independently. Maybe she was working for an escort service. There are SO MANY in the area. And I doubt very much the service or the other girls would say anything to LE.

Also on PEEKYOU, it says she added things to her profile on a specific date in April, 2009, so we know she was using the internet on that date......?

I wish we had more information!!!! Especially on Amber Lynn Costello because I feel it would be easier to find her posts since she was only missing since the end of last year.
