I am not at all trying to besmirch the name of these two children with the following post. They were good kids. They were in love. Things happen. I alluded to this earlier but I want to elaborate because I think it may be a real possibility.

Does anyone know how much an abortion cost in 1973? Since this was only 6 months after Roe v. Wade, how widely available were legal abortions from licensed health care providers? We back room procedures still happening? Were they cheaper?

I wonder if that's what the $80 dollars was for and why family members reported them being ill at ease before the concert. What if something happened to Bonnie and Mitch couldn't face going back to New York to their families? Maybe they haven't been found because people have been looking for 2 teenagers that died at the same time. What if only Bonnie died in 1973 and Mitch went off to start over in his grief and guilt?

Have they been compared to the mystery couple killed in South Carolina in 1976? I know the heights and such are off, but they were young and could have grown.

I'm trying to get information on whether or not the male in SC was circumcised. If he was intact, he was almost certainly not Jewish and therefore not Mitchel.

Id like resolution to ALL these cases but this one has been one of the top four or five closest to my heart.

I have been reading about this case today so came over here to see what you all were saying about it. It really bugs me that so many of these cases have such lackadasical information and that LE doesn't follow up on things and that families don't follow up on things. I have seen 3 things about this case that stand out (and I am sure t here are more) but no one carried them thru to the end. One was that the kids were out of sorts before the trip. Why? Don't any of their friends have a clue? Did the police interview any of them and dig for answers?

The $80. Why did the girl come for that suddenly? Did they try to find out? Wouldn't the girl tell a friend or someone why she wanted to suddenly go home and get that money? It could be a big clue as to where they went.

The man that claims they drowned.... How come his info is so sketchy but they just let him go on home or whatever and never dug deep for any answers. Since he claimed to be with them, couldn't they get a warrant for a lie detector test? Take the guy around to the area he claimed to be in with them and get small details? Pot doesn't make anyone that nuts. i would have dug much deeper with that guy. also done a search in the area he claims he was with them. You read all these clues but then the idea or clue is just dropped with no answers. Really irritating. Also odd that no one except the Vet and the one truck driver remembers seeing them anywhere. Oh there was 1 other clue that I think they dropped the ball on and that was a letter the girl wrote to her mother close to the disappearance. The girl went on about how she loved her parents but she wanted to be free and travel etc. The mother read part of it in an interview. What did all that mean??? And why did she write such a letter to her mom. Was it some sort of good bye letter? That was also dropped and never to be heard about again.

Yeah as Im sure youve gathered from my other posts that story the fellow who supposedly watched them drown is one of my pet peeves.
Youd have to do more then smoke pot behind the sketch amnesia he's claiming....you watched two kids drown but cant find the spot where it happened right.
His story stuck me as a half hearted way of going: 'Oh they drowned. You can give up and leave it alone now.'
And probably felt he was gifting the families with some kind of bogus concept of 'Closure'(whatever that is.)
The problem is he came forward with a staement.
They recorded it.
Thye dont really have any leverage to lean on him or bring out the heavy interogation.
I find it hard to beleive that LE believes it either.
Id LOVE to be able to ask him some questions about his story.

Michael and his girlfriend Bonita Bickwit planned on attending the Watkins Glen concert, which was starting Saturday, July 28th, 1973. Weiser actually hitchhiked upstate to meet Bonnie near Camp Wel-Met, where she was working as a mother’s helper for the summer.

The two planned to see a jam fest with the Allman Brothers, the Grateful Dead, and The Band. It is unknown if they made it to their destination and neither has been seen since.

Bickwit and Weiser, who respectively hailed from Borough Park and Midwood and were students at John Dewey High School on Avenue X, presumably never made it to the village at the tip of Seneca Lake; neither made it home after the jam show, and friends believe they disappeared en route.

In 2000, a Rhode Island man told police he had hitchhiked with Bickwit and Weiser, and watched them get swept away in the Susquehanna River."

I found this unidentified female found in Brighton Monroe County New York I a wooded area.. on a map its not that far.. strait on highway 390 from Watkins Glen.
her nose face and hair reminds me of Bonita and the height seems right

I found this John Doe under a fake name Brad Lee Bodie James Allen Chastain and Larry he worked at a Carnival and died in a motel.
the age seems about right and hair and eyes also and glasses. I wish I there was some way to find out the glasses that Mitchell had on when he last disappeared what they actually looked like.

I still have that feeling again something happened to Bonita and Mitch could not face his or her parents or anyone. I have been also thinking maybe that guy that came out with the drowning story that nobody believes is just doing it to clear his conscience. That is why he would not take the lie detector test. Maybe this guy and the driver abducted Bonita and beat the crap out of Mitch and threw him out of the van. I feel the guy who spoke up knows more or has something to do with the disappearance .
With that said I found another John Doe that fits Mitchell's profile 57" and long brown hir hazel eyes. He also seems to have similar facial features. What caught my eye also is the John Does Boots look similar to the boots that Mitchell has on in the photo holding Bonita. They may not be the same but appear to be the same style and color. John Doe was found in 1989 thought to have been dead for a couple of years prior to being discovered
