:mad:Thank you Bit and Badcrumble (I like that it sounds like an old brand if cookies ha!) for keeping this thread moving.!!!

Oh geeeze even the link Error that I put on Sharon’s page no longer works! At least I did copy and paste it to her thread. I also think I found a newspaper article someplace (before I had found this thread) and posted the info on the midtown Jane doe thread someplace. Anyhoo I have to find it and bring it here too

Now the reason I was looking for the Harlem boiler lady is because I came across a woman missing from Harlem I had not seen before. I will post here.

MISSING
Missing Person / NamUs #MP40056 Sandra Jean Cunningham, Female, Black / African American
Date of Last Contact August 11, 1977
Missing FromNew York, New York

Circumstances of Disappearance

Sandra had just returned from a modeling assignment in Panama. She had left all her luggage in her apartment and was going to an agency for a modeling booking.

Sandra was an RN at Harlem Hospital in Manhattan and a model for ABC sports. None of her credit cards or bank accounts were ever touched by strangers.

ok now I can’t find her thread. This is so odd, I can’t find things when I search here ugh. Frustrating .. I’ll come back to this later. Anyway I thought I would post her. I believe she lived some where in Harlem how close to this building I don’t knowing. And don’t know where the ABCSports Modeling place is located either. Anyway here’s is another lady missing from the vicinity .

ETA: Is there anyway of knowing when the boiler was installed?

Hey Hey Badcrumble I got this it’s the best I could find on the boiler..

Below is the only thing I could find on the building work. I posted the link also.

Looks like an application went in for new boiler /oil burner in 1965 so that means the thing was installed not too long after.
Then there is a boiler violation But there is No date.

I think the building has been shady for a long time. Look at how many complaints for unsafe building pop up and the years.

Now my Question
Ok here’s another thing. If the boiler is working like cremations, then what is left is fragments.
But how many times do they have to burn until they become really tiny Fragments?

I wonder how large the pieces were that were found.?
( I know when my dog (she was a German shep) was cremated I saw her when they opened the oven. Her bones were all there in tact. To give you a visual it looked like those images you see of a dead animal in the desert all the bones were white, but still in the shape. Even her skull was perfect. Then the guy took them and ground them.

Now it makes me wonder if the remains were in there not too long from the discovery date. Because Iam assuming the longer they are in there the more they burn down to fragments. Ok so I guess my question would be sooo how big were these pieces:D… then maybe we can get some sort of time frame.

Wow!

This is an article about how easy it is to burn a body. In particular it's about the Natalie Holloway case, but is can be applied to other cases.

DPG Media Privacy Gate

Crematoria in the Netherlands use a preheated steel incinerator to burn a body, with temperatures that can rise to more than 1100°C. A modern cremator takes an hour on average to process a mortal remains. However, a wood fire is also sufficient to burn a skull.

According to forensic pathologist Frank van de Goot, it is not difficult to make a body disappear: "Burning bones is no problem at all. I once showed that on a television program. We had completely pulverized a cow's leg in two hours. A normal wood fire with a core temperature of about 800 to 900 degrees is enough. But the structure will remain intact. So you will always need an extra force to turn it into powder. So you have to stand on it for a while or something. Then he's gone."

The Netherlands Forensic Institute (NFI) confirms Van de Goot's reading. “It is quite possible to burn a skull yourself. Our forensic anthropologist says it takes about an hour to be burned at the stake. If there are fire-accelerating agents, even faster," said spokeswoman Eef Herregodts.

This confirms your story Madamx. Sorry for your dog btw.

Thx Madamx. So the buildings were established in 1910. For now not much of a help. What are our thoughts about how long the remains were there, before found in 1989.

Sandra is an interesting find.

Yes Bit that is the same question Iam trying to figure out.
I did notice that there was something that they were issuing permits or something for fencing around the building in 1988 and there was some other stuff going on in 1988. Sprinklers were added. So it looks like in 1988 I think they were getting the building vacant to start to work on it to have it become one of the city owned properties . They pull out the Certificate if Occupancy is when they are changing original things to the building and those were being taken out by 1991.

I wonder if anyone from the actual building went missing:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Tried to find something about the building activity in 1988 and the owner and occupants. I think its find-able, but after a paywall. The property was last sold in 5/9/1991, probably explaining the certificates? Not sure how that works.

Oh good find. Yes your right that explains the certificates. It also says the building name is The Fredrick Samuel City. I wonder if there is anything under that name.

How weird is that it says that 145 it has 16 units 4 stories and it was built in 1925 BUT 143 says it has 10 units 4 stories built in 1901. Something is off they are both identical buildings. I just looked on google street view.

Google Maps

Yes, that is most certainly weird, because on the google picture of #143 it's written above the door. And above two other entrances on both sides. One of them can be #145 but it looks to be the same building.

Maybe this explains it? Inside the city's worst NYCHA site filled with 'rat holes'

The Samuel Apartments are in such dire shape that the housing authority will have to shell out $286 million over the next nine years to bring them up to code — or an average of $431,000 for each of the 664 units in the complex’s 40 low-rise buildings, the data show.

The Samuel Apartments, which opened in 1993, were developed from century-old buildings that fell into foreclosure in the 1970s.

Taylor’s unit, for example, is in a 1910 building that once had a servants room, blueprints show.

The buildings were “gut-reconstructed” into affordable housing as part of a Mayor Ed Koch-era program, according to city Board of Estimate documents from 1989.

ooooh ok so i found this article and explains a bit more. Ok so the buildings fell into foreclosure in the 1970s. So that means they were definitely not being taken care of and
Then by 1989 they were made into affordable housing and the city took them over.

So we would need to find out when people stopped living in it and they stopped using the boiler for heat and hot water.

Yes 145 is right next door to 143 and they both have same blue signs. Iam thinking whoever wrote the reality listing got it wrong because they were not paying attention and nobody caught the mistake .

OMg BitofHope i realized we both posted the same article at the same time hahaha
