it took 6 weeks to capture LE killer; eric frien, this reminds me of his manhunt.
he had no help, but was a survivalist, armed and by himself.

question, is it better to be together or alone when evading police?
would you stay in the area? run to a small town? to a big city?
Just wondering................

I was wondering about them splitting up. We've only seen the two mugshots of them -- (except for older photos from trial, etc.) -- they could easily change their appearance by altering facial hair, etc. Neither of them has features that particularly stand out. But people might take more notice of two men traveling or living together than a single man. I think their plan was to stay in some unoccupied cabin (and there's hundreds in upstate NY and Vermont) for awhile until the heat dies down, and then maybe slip over to Canada, or just head anywhere -- especially somewhere like Florida, where lots of people are always in and out, and new faces wouldn't be noticed. Matt has ties to western NY and Sweat to Broome County, but I'm guessing that's where they wouldn't go -- since police would probably be watching their family, and they'd be more likely to be recognized. After a number of winters in Clinton -- I'm guessing they're thinking of heading someplace warm, eventually.

My understanding is LE doesnt just break down doors of unoccupied places so I think we are in for a long wait at this point. Because if LE comes to their place, all they have to do is stay quiet and LE will move on.

Some camp owners leave their doors unlocked and the reason is so someone doesn't kick the door in to gain entrance. LE is aware of this and I have seen mentioned in media articles that they may break into locked buildings to check them.

Cuomo said at presser today that the Cadyville/Saranac lead stemmed from a house break-in that was "suspect." #PrisonBreakNY

I wonder if this means that food was stolen or clothes, and large electronics left behind?

Probably. But...I can't for the life of me think of why they would have dragged the power tools out of the tunnels. It's not like they'd come in handy in the middle of the woods.

That's why I think they are still in the area. I think LE has some leads and we just are not privy. And not privy as these guys may now have access to whats out in the news. It has gotten somewhat quiet. IMO for good reason.

My first thought when I read that Tilly was going to kill her husband?

Her panic attack was dual purpose. One: secure location where Matt & Sweat wouldn't likely come for her. Two: alibi for "just in case".

Wouldn't some part-time (summer) residents leave a vehicle at their place? They could have stolen a vehicle from an unoccupied home and the owner may not even be aware yet of it.

I can use the reward money. But seriously. Check the freight lines. That just seems like the fastest way out of town.

I was checking this map for where the tracks run in that area. There's one track that runs along the western shore of Lake Champlain. North to Canada and south to Albany where it hooks up with routes going to NYC and a number of other destinations. If sightings are accurate, they appear to be heading east toward Lake Champlain. There's another track that picks up at Lake Saranac and runs south to Utica and beyond, but that would involve trekking through a lot of mountainous territory to get there. http://www.mapsofworld.com/usa/states/new-york/new-york-railway-map.html

According to Tillie's first husband, she was a serial adulterer. He says she cheated on him with two different men at the factory where both she and her first husband worked. (This is in several news accounts). The 2nd man was Lyle -- her present husband -- co-workers say they were having sex on the railroad tracks behind the factory (I keep trying to picture how one would even do that ). Even though that was over 20 years ago, and Tillie and Lyle have stuck together for a couple decades, apparently her morals have not improved. I think she's the type of woman who enjoys the thrill of being in somewhat dangerous situations.

Just jumping off your post, Abigail.

I don't condone adultery, but it happens. I certainly don't condone serial adultery. However, being in a relationship with a psychopathic murderer in one's early 50s, is quite different from committing adultery or being a serial adulterer years ago. Different from engaging in sexual relations with a co-worker even if both engaged in adulterous sexual relations down by the railroad tracks--some 20 years ago. And then we supposedly have the co-workers running down to the railroad track to glimpse whomever is in the act. W/E! Again, obvi only MO.

Close to 20 yrs later, first husband still pining a bit for her MOO. And he was put on probation for beating the hell out of LM according to "gossip." Does that make him a "bad boy"? I don't think so:

“She was cheating on him with Lyle,” said HP. “They all worked together — Tobey found out. When I met him [Tobey], he had been on probation [for] beating [Lyle] up in the bathroom.”

Current husband cried when he heard the charges against her:

Lyle Mitchell cried when allegations surfaced against his wife, according to a friend who did not want to be named. The friend said Lyle Mitchell asked how his wife could do such a thing.

Do these 2 men sound like "bad boys"?

An attraction to sociopaths and/or psychopaths? A serial adulterer, sure. What's going on now with her, I'm not sure.

I think anything is possible. Seems these two had much on their side. Let's hope Karma kicks in soon. In my perfect scenario they both are stuck in some quicksand bog eaten by insects. Dead for days. Suffered greatly.

Prosecutor says escaped killers used contractors' tools: http://bit.ly/1Bcn1G7

From your link -

" The two killers who cut their way out of a maximum-security prison apparently used tools routinely stored there by contractors, taking care to return them to their toolboxes after each night's work so that no one would notice, a prosecutor said Sunday."

<snip>

""They had access, from what we understand, to other tools left in the facility by contractors under policy and were able to open the toolboxes and use those tools and then put them back so nobody would notice," the prosecutor said. He also said the men had been scouting out the tunnel system under the prison at night for the best way get out"

So, there we go. Tilly brought them tools but not POWER tools, those came from the contractors without them ever knowing.

I wonder if Tillie gave them a GPS device? They had a 5 hour lead, at least, and the only scent picked up for them was at a gas station. All they would need to cross into Canada within a few hours would be an ATV and a GPS.

it appears from you link that there is a direct route to Binghamton. Didn't someone mention family, girlfriend etc there?

JMO if they hopped a train I would think it'd be freight not passenger. They made MetroNorth railroad uniforms with Tilly. Where does that go? Anyone know anything about that?

"The great escape from the Clinton Correctional Facility was hatched in the prison tailor shop while the killers were sewing Metro-North uniforms, sources told the Daily News on Monday"

ETA - found a wiki about it - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metro-North_Railroad

This is what I have been waiting for, Now to figure out which contractors were doing work???

And which COs were doing those cell checks to confirm seeing breathing &/or skin at night:

Can't open links in Pops post, so C&P'd from GGE's post:

He also said the men had been scouting out the tunnel system under the prison at night for the best way get out"

Binghamton doesn't have a passenger train, only freight passes through here. Yes, his mom still lives here, not sure what other relatives, and he did have an ex out here back in 2002 but no idea now.
