Sweat hasn't been in the woods for three weeks. He was resting comfortably in that Owls Head cabin until last Friday. So at the most, he's been in the woods for about a week IMO. But he very well may be in poor condition, and I would imagine he is most certainly tired.

I have the feeling Matt was sick with a cold or the flu. I think that's why he involuntarily coughed at the worst possible moment for him, and I think that's why he drank that booze from the Malone cabin. He was attempting to continue evading 1000 cops...getting drunk was not his plan. Easing his sore throat and/or body aches was the reason he drank IMO. I've never tried it myself, but I've always heard if you drink a shot of whiskey when you're sick, it makes you feel better. Anyway, just throwing my two cents in regarding the alcohol...IMO Matt drank it as medicine, not to get drunk.

Yep, and I hope if he was ill, it was contagious and his buddy DS has it, too! They should have scored a couple of z-paks from a nurse at the infirmary before escaping!

Anyone read this, especially the timeline of events about the banging on the door at 2 am? According to this there was blood and scratch marks on her basement door. Was it Matt and was he injured?

Seriously, she reported this later in the morning? I'd have my finger on the 911 speed dial button 24/7 if I lived in that area. Actually, I'd have left the area til they got caught...too scaredy.
 
I'm trying to get my head back into sleuthing mode as opposed to media-ninja mode.... does anyone have a map/address/good description of the Owl's Head/Mountain View cabin where both of their DNA was found in the peanut butter?

I need to see a map of this location and thought I'd ask you all before trying to figure out the location myself. The faster I get the location, the faster I can post a map here and see what we can conjure up... thanks!

ETA - I remember the name Wolf Pond Rd but that's a long road and would like better clarification if possible.
 
Random thought. Matt was the one with dismemberment skills. Did he retain his saw blades? Did he get hungry and slaughter Sweat, chop him up and grill him on the grill at the Twisted Horn cabin? I'm only half kidding, I think.

zooming in on that Twisted Horn Hunting club property off Wolf Pond Rd I see that the cleared power lines "trail" runs parallel to wolf pond road at least in this location. Imagine if Matt went left from there and followed the lines to Malone (which they run straight to in that direction) and Sweat turned right and followed them to... ?

those powerines would cross route 26 in vermontville ny and also pass the first building of any kind in that direction at that point.

then he'd pass Loon Lake which looks like it would have quite a few cabins/camps/seasonal fishing/hunting spots...

then over and through a whole shapoopy of wetlands and lakes by the look of it.

Just in case anyone else like me was thinking maybe they split up and followed the same trail opposite directions.

but what if he was never in it? That's what I want to know from them.
 
There's no reasoning in any of this crazy saga, but I think, given the bind that they were in, they needed each other for guard duty and another set of eyes and ears. They would have split eventually, when they found their way out of the forest. JMO.......but it's not too crazy to think that Matt may hve killed Sweat, somewhere between the first cabin and the last.

the question is where did the find 2 sets of footprints they were 'following'

Someone said they were searching the square mileage of Syracuse, like finding a needle in a haystack.
The one big asset on their side is he should be delirious soon, so he is going to screw up, or off himself, if of course he is even there. In this instance I am going to trust LE because there is no way they would put these men through this weather on a weekend, they know something we do not.
