I feel awful for anyone who handled these packages. I would imagine it's very traumatic to know you sorted, carried or opened something that was intended to kill indiscriminately. I'd have a hard time going back to work without fear.

I believe it's too early to speculate on motive. It's obvious what it looks like, but Occam's Razor is only a heuristic.

Edit: Maybe "speculate" is the wrong word. Speculation is reasonable. Saying there's no doubt is premature.

Explosive device sent to CNN featured parody ISIS flag, 'Get Er Done' inscription

A senior law enforcement official said that the image contained on the Brennan device that appears to be an ISIS flag is in fact a mocking parody of it. The official confirmed that the words “Get Er Done” were on the device.

The “Get ‘Er Done” flag was originally created in 2014 by the right-wing parody site World News Bureau, for an article titled “ISIS Vows Retribution For Counterfeit Flags.” It has since been shared as a meme on right-wing websites and forums.

President Donald Trump pointed the finger Wednesday night at Democrats and the news media for the turbulent national political environment, on the same day explosive devices were mailed to the Obamas, the Clintons, CNN and other public officials.

His fans will eat it up.

And who opened it and took pictures and put it out on the airwaves immediately?

Has that ever happened before? Seems fishy to me.

It was sent to CNN, a media company. I don't find it fishy that a broadcasting company broadcasted an image. That's what they do.

I don't know why the package had stamps, but courier is a very common way to deliver packages in NYC. I'm sure CNN receives packages by courier regularly. I have no idea why the package was hand-delivered as I think the others were mailed - not sure about that, though. I need to start keeping a list of these details.

Why is it important to ascribe this awful deed to a party? The person(s) who did this is/are criminals and the actions to strike terror into people are not democratic or republican, they are felonious, deranged and vile. I am surprised that we could even get here in this conversation.

The people who could have been killed or injured go beyond a politician. They are law enforcement, workers, and innocent bystanders. To ascribe terror as a way to garner votes is gross in my opinion.

Have you listened to any of the Democrat leaders today or tonight? They are absolutely exploiting this for political partisanship. Immediately after Trump asked for us to unify as a nation, the top Dems released this statement:



“President Trump’s words ring hollow until he reverses his statements that condone acts of violence,” the two Democratic leaders said in a joint statement.

“Time and time again, the president has condoned physical violence and divided Americans with his words and his actions: expressing support for the congressman who body-slammed a reporter, the neo-Nazis who killed a young woman in Charlottesville, his supporters at rallies who get violent with protesters, dictators around the world who murder their own citizens, and referring to the free press as the enemy of the people,” they said.

This will frighten voters looking for change? Sorry, I don't follow. Some voters will be frightened, why?

I don't get it either. I don't sense any vibe that these acts intended to frighten voters and I don't sense any vibe that voters are frightened.

Not a theory I'm buying.

I find it fishy because this is an act of domestic terrorism. An open ongoing investigation. Since when does a network broadcast, immediately, the evidence of a bomb, sent to an ex CIA Director? Wouldn't that be part of the open investigation?

There really are so few publicly known details at this point. It's possible the investigators don't want too much revealed just yet. That makes sense to me....much as I'd love to know RIGHT NOW who's behind it!

There have been other new stations and newspapers threatened with bombs or sent bombs or white powder. I have never seen them immediately open the bomb, take a picture and put it on the news.

The package was sent to Brennan. Brennan wasn't there. So why did CNN open in and broadcast the pictures?

I have to admit I am suspicious because CNN has admitted that they are openly 'in resistance' against this administration. So I have to wonder why the big push to get the EVIDENCE, which is part of an ongoing Terrorist Investigation, was put on the air so quickly.
