OCSO Blasts Anthonys for New 'Sighting' Pic / All Sighting Information #2

Because if OCSO doesn't, it allows the Caylee alive hysteria to continue and as BeanE and others pointed out, it could lead to another child being harmed. Every brown haired little girl out there, aged four and under is now subject to being stalked and kidnapped, by the A's themselves or one of their fans supporting them. It has gotten downright scary and needs to be stopped.

I personally have seen nothing leading up to the point where any child is going to be kidnapped. I have seen a few grainy photos of children that aren't even clear for their own parents to identify them. Not one of these lookalikes have been touched, grabbed or so on and so on by the person who thought they were Caylee.

I was thinking the exact same thing! If my DD's hair was shorter and not stick straight, she too could probably pass for dear Caylee on the playground... as I'm sure tons of other little girls have that same look about them too.

I can understand that the A's want to believe Caylee is alive -- but they need to stop. I took one look at that picture and knew it wasn't Caylee... It's wrong & sad.

I have the feeling that recently releasing the oldish FBI interviews was foreshadowing of LE's next move regarding the Anthonys.

I have recently come to that belief myself. Not sure until now if they public would have gone along with it... but the A's have jumped the shark and OSCO waited patiently, worked patiently with them until it has become obvious to anyone interested in this case that they've crossed the line. I truly believe that the public needs this action. Needs this closure, of sorts.

OSCO has been slammed daily, repeatedly, by this family - for no good reason -- and they need to stand up publicly and show some self-respect. We want that for our law enforcement agencies too. It's not enough anymore to speak to the A's behind closed doors. It's got to be out in the open. Go OSCO!

I'd like to put in a personal request to Tricia and the mods that all pics of children for these sightings be pulled, and no more posted.

The reason for my request is that I'm very, very concerned that with the continuing hysteria that plagues this case, some child is going to be harmed emotionally by getting snatched, dragged to a security guard, questioned by a stranger, having their picture plastered on the net, etc. It's really getting out of control.

We have people in this forum saying they would snatch and run with a child they thought was Caylee!!! I would like to request also of Tricia and the mods that these posts get deleted or edited to remove those statements. It's a very dangerous thought to get into the head of someone with poor judgement, however well-intentioned.

I know I'm going to get blasted by some people for this, and I am truly sorry for any hurt feelings, but I feel very strongly about it, and the level of my concern compels me to speak out.

Let's please take the wisest course on this.

That seems appropriate and responsible...as a WS'r I don't want to contribute in any way to the possible involvement or harm that could come to a child who, like most 3 yr olds, look like Caylee....

From the people I have seen supporting the Anthonys, people should be VERY AFRAID...........None of the ones I have seen or checked out, seem to be stable at all. They are putting these children at risk, when they even expose these kids to those people's imagination.

And this statement by OSCO Padilla confirms that the A's ARE harming innocent people, as well as wasting time and resources by continuing down this path:

"The image he refers to is of a little girl about the same age as Caylee with the same color hair. But if the police did indeed investigate that lead, this is what would happen next: "That family, the parents of that child, would now have to verify that the child is theirs," he says. "Police would come to their house and the parents would have to come forward." Investigating such tips and leads costs police time, money, and resources."

It has been my experience that personal pain, grief and loss usually opens you up, makes you more empathetic to the suffering of others. This family has done quite the opposite. They are willing to hurt as many families and children as they can to achieve their objective. It's really astounding.

I can't say I blame the Sheriff's Department, but on the other hand, how is attacking the A's publicly going to help? I am sure that this has been addressed with them in a private setting. If that didn't do any good, arrest them for obstruction and go from there. It makes me wonder if OCSO has any desire to project an air of professionalism.

It's a two-pronged attack. OSCO needs to do both. Publically castigate the A's AND arrest them. No reason to be stealth about it. The family is putting others at risk and we need to have validation from LE that this will not be tolerated. Let's face it, there is a little PR involved, there always is. I for one am grateful that they made what I consider to be a mild statement. Now for the arrest. They're hopefully just prepping the public for the next step, as LI Mom has said.
