About the texts between Skylar and her mom. I missed the texts about laxatives but up until I heard about those I thought her mom was trying to support her with a healthier alternative to weight loss than anorexia. If she's had eating disorders since she was 13, no way she'd believe it if her mom told her she looks great the way she is. I really thought this is a mom who knows her daughter will try to lose weight no matter what so she was going to do her best to steer her towards getting in shape without starving herself. I hope to get a chance to read the texts about the laxatives.

Or perhaps the State planned to call her but decided against it..
I wouldn't be surprised if State advised her she was no longer under subpoena and she chose to remain outside of court room!

We know Dad has been seated behind BSR, and camera constantly on him. I can't imagine Kim wanting the camera on her when seated in gallery -- although I would have liked to watch her reaction during testimony.

I can’t ever imagine where she picked up this history of eating disorder(s) and as mentioned above she was openly discussing with her mother the continued use of an over the counter laxative as part of her “body plan”.

The entire conversation is completely inappropriate and puts on full display a toxic enmeshed mother/daughter relationship that has been out of control for awhile.

Dad doesn’t come off as so disordered in tangible details, but it’s there just the same & it has to be to be part of this Triad. No one accidentally and/or unknowingly becomes a principle point in this kind of family dynamic.

I’d imagine he’s been checked out in avoidance land for quite awhile and finally had to be present due to the severity of the circumstances.

Kim Richardson texts Skyolar on 05/01/17 after having (accidentally) received this email from the doctor "pt pregnant".

At the very least, Mom knew she was pregnant on May 1st. I have a problem that Mom didn't take over in some way to make sure that both her daughter and the baby received care from this point forward. I know BR is 18 at this point, but she lives at home and the parents are paying her bills.

The Daughter is under heavy control from Mom and lives/strives for her conditional approval.

Perhaps the State put mom on witness list to potentially create a pressure on the daughter to plead out and spare her mother the potentially embarrassing experience.

Last place mom wants to be is on the stand after the nature of their relationship is hashed out via texts and testimony.

The Stand on National TV in a trial that has exposed the pretend life on unimaginable deep levels.

Perhaps the State thought this might pressure BSR to plead guilty due to the mom’s potential pressure & for whatever reason this did not happen.

Idk if mom’s actual testimony would help the state in that it creates sympathy for BSR ( at least to a certain limited level ). It creates the impression that the Mom should be culpable as well & perhaps it wouldn’t be so fair to exact judgement on daughter alone.

I recall that laxatives (Dulcolax) were noted by police during search of BSR bedroom. I wouldn't be surprised if allowing laxatives was a compromise by parents as long as BSR would stop purging. (Maybe mom also uses laxatives).

Court transcript -- July 20 interrogation over, just waiting for parents to come in the room - Skylar asks Detective Carter to hold her hand again.

Just wanted to give my opinion being someone that has suffered with an eating disorder since 15. (I''m now 42). Its basically one of the sneakiest disorders around. You tell no one. You lie about having eaten food constantly. You make excuses to go throw up. If she has a 6 inch thick file on her eating disorder and it was that bad, she wouldn't be having conversations with her mother about it. Nor would the mother be saying any of those things to her daughter. She would be the total opposite. Supportive and caring. This appears to be a totally different situation. Where the child is looking to earn her mothers praise by losing weight. Its weird, not right and quite sad to see those texts. Absolutely no parent on the planet would encourage laxative abuse. They are highly addictive and can cause long term damage.
