If there was no sign of injury, he definitely didn't fall out of a 3rd story window. My thoughts are that he drowned, but it was not in the pool. He was put there to cover a potentially accidental death that might have been due to neglect.

I wonder when the last time a doctor or therapist saw him. If he was severely autistic, surely he had occupational therapy. I wonder what they have to say about his health. And if he didn't go to therapy, that is kind of a red flag too. I know that even if you are poor, medicaid will pay for it here.

His obituary seems to indicate he regularly went to occupational therapy and other programs. His therapists and teachers were named.

There's a link and video somewhere in the thread of Braylen in a therapy session. He was on a tricycle and was struggling to move on it. There was no date but it appeared to be recent.

Seems like he was doing alright on that tricycle, more or less. I wouldn't say he seems incapable of going out a window. Also, people are saying a 3rd floor window but they're counting a basement floor only maybe 3 feet of which is above ground. Furthermore, that air conditioning unit or whatever it is under the window might have had a big smooth metal top or grille. Like a car roof, those kind of things can actually be pretty soft to land on (relatively speaking) and make the fall even shorter, like it seemed like the drop from the window to the top of that thing was less than ten feet. Not impossible for a small child to fall onto without injury.

I still personally believe this was a homicide but so far nothing that's been reported is an abject impossibility.

I'm less worried about his physical ability than his mental/emotional resistance. To me it seemed he had to keep reaching out to the walls even with two aides beside him.

I do hear what you're saying but while anyone can fall out a window, even sticking your head out and looking down might make you withdraw.

(Cliff notes: research proves babies develop fear of heights around nine months, but not all.)
As far as landing on an HVAC unit, everybody's got their own opinion.
I don't feel that I could land on one, falling off a one story roof, without people in France hearing me,um, "involuntarily vocalize".
In any event, with or without physical injury to the child, I believe the HVAC unit would have some good dent.
Still, as you say, not impossible.
But it would be risky to present that to a jury, and be followed by the opposing attorney asking show of hands who would be okay with seeing a three year old fall 10 feet onto an a/c unit.
All just MHOO, and I'm also thinking it went a different way.

It's obviously not okay but it's also not homicide, which is what I think we all expect someone to be charged with so it's going to take some more evidence than what we (the public) have right now. Probably cards are being held close to their chests. "We know these two things but we're only going to let you know we know this one thing and if that makes you reveal a third thing that connects to the second thing, we got you"

I will chime in on this. I have had a child in OT. The video did not show him reaching to the wall to stabilize himself. The first time was because he got close to the wall, not due to being unstable. Reaching to the wall to place a sticker is an exercise where they reach for a checkpoint (You should be able to see this the second time he goes for the wall) that both helps reinforce by giving a visual that they are making progress and the exercise works on further core strength development that helps with overall balance by leaning without falling off the bike. I still think the window statement was more likely a conclusion made in a panic when they couldn’t find him and saw the screen pushed out. IMO that that statement may not actually tell us anything about whether Braylen eloped or not.

Thank you, it's helpful to know correct interpretation. I stand corrected and I appreciate the insight!

My 3-year-old niece never rode a tricycle, I imagine she will not do so great the first time she tries it. If it was the first time or one of the first times Braylen rode a tricycle, it seems pretty "normal". Did he actually have any mobility issues? I haven't herd anything about that, I believe if he did that would have been mentioned along with the information about him being non-verbal.

EB
is accused of damaging items at the site and throwing items around. She’s charged with menacing and disorderly conduct.

This is really sad, but IMO the woman who damaged his memorial desperately needs help with either a medical condition, psychological condition, or addiction (which is an illness anyway.). This just shows how difficult it is for some people to get help before something like this happens.

Don't let this put a damper on the way the community has come together to show love for Braylen.

Truth & Justice for Braylen.

It'd be strange that anyone who didn't have a connection would destroy a memorial for a little boy, even if they suffered from some sort of mental illness.

I mean, mental illness can be brutal and unpredictable.

I have a feeling this has little to do with mental illness...
