This case is local to me. There aren't a lot of details, but the long and short of it is that Kyle (as he goes by) left home saying he was going to buy a video game and has not been seen since. He left with an individual who has not been publicly named but I assume LE knows who the person is.

Day 26 for Bryan Kyle Bridgeman missing from Nelsonville | NBC4 WCMH-TV This is actually the first MSM article I've seen about it. It's an interview with his mother discussing the last day she saw him.

There is a vigil for Bryan right now (7:00pm on 7/3/21) and I'm glad many prayers will be going up for him:

I think the comments on the Sheriff's FB and Brian's FB are scary.

JMO Bryan sounds like someone special with a heart of gold who is going through something hard to deal with (he mentions alcoholism).

Praying he will return safe and unharmed.

Sheriff's office looking for man missing in Athens County | 10tv.com

Sheriff Rodney Smith said Bryan Bridgeman was reported missing June 7.

The sheriff's office has searched for him in several locations and talked to possible witnesses but he has yet to be found.

When asked if foul play could be a factor in Bridgeman's disappearance, Smith told 10TV his office has not made a determination yet if it is or not.

Smith said his office is following up on several leads.

Search still underway for missing man

ACSO Sheriff Rodney Smith told The Athens Messenger there are currently three officers involved in the investigation into his whereabouts.

He said there have been “rumors,” but no searches have yielded any information.

On June 11, the ACSO searched under a trailer on Matheny Road near Nelsonville, but the search was unsuccessful in locating Bridgeman. The ACSO also employed a dive team to search a pond on Vore Ridge Road near Athens.

Other organizations, including family members and the Facebook page The Nelsonville CrackHeads have organized private searches along waterways by boat.

Day 26 for Bryan Kyle Bridgeman missing from Nelsonville

•Linda Bridgeman, Kyle’s grandmother, last saw him on June 4
•Kyle left the house around 6 or 7pm with an individual to buy a video game from someone but didn’t come back
•According to family, “He’s on psych meds, and he is an alcoholic, and if he went a day without drinking, he would go into severe withdrawal symptoms.”
•family is offering a $5,000 reward
•several areas have been searched
•June 14, LE searched under a trailer and two ponds
•there’s a possibility of bringing in dogs but LE needs a specific area to search

Questions:
Who is this individual Kyle left with to go buy the video game? Someone he and/or the family knows well?
I assume this individual is not also missing, so what does he/she say happened?
Who is the individual that had the game for sale?
Has LE interviewed him/her?
Did Kyle make it to this individual to buy the game?

Comments on ACSO page answer a lot of questions and are interesting, not sure I can post them here but the link to the ACSO post is upthread. The problem with the questions, which are excellent ones, is that no one really has these answers. There is a lot of unusable FB gossip that talks about it- I'd tell people to check it out but some of it is of the "Kyle was kidnapped by aliens/sex traffickers/joined the CIA, etc." vein. I would advise people to check out the ACSO post.

The Hocking River runs through Nelsonville; that always worries me when I see significant bodies of water near the last seen location. However, the river is 100 miles long and without a lead or significant place on the river, it would be impossible to search right now.

LE also employed a dive team to search a pond on Vore Ridge Road near Athens.

The distance between these two roads is about 6.5 miles.

Map of Vore Ridge Rd; taking a quick look at the area, I found a few ponds. As the road curves up (North), there appears to be two ponds beside each other. I wonder if these are the two ponds divers searched?

He has quite a history of arrests, mostly alcohol-related, at least one drug related, but the behavior, in my opinion seems to be escalating as the last charge (2020) was for assault. The only recent activity as read in the last docket is a dunning notice for failure to pay as scheduled a court cost in late July 2021. Hopefully, he's safe somewhere. https://eservices.ci.athens.oh.us/eservices/searchresults.page

The Hocking River isn't a real deep river, not the type that could carry a body miles downstream unless the river was higher than normal. In many places, it is wide, but very shallow, often only 1-3 feet deep.

Birthday search in Nelsonville for Bryan ‘Kyle’ Bridgeman intensifies as specialist volunteers join effort | NBC4 WCMH-TV

The search for missing man Bryan Kyle Bridgeman intensified Saturday as family, friends, and volunteers met under the Nelsonville Cross.

Linda Johnson, who always called her grandson “Kyle,” said she wants closure.

I miss him,” Johnson said. “I want closure. I want to find him. If need be, we will put him with his mom. He deserves that dignity of a burial.

Bryan Bridgeman lived in a trailer behind his grandmother’s house and came over regularly for meals, medication, and company. Johnson said she knew her grandson was missing when she didn’t hear from him all day because he called her many times every day.

That was two months ago on June 4.

Saturday, Aug. 7, was Bridgeman’s birthday.

On Saturday, a new force joined family and friends looking for Bridgeman. Called the Golden Hearts A Voice 4 The Voiceless, they have a young cadaver dog, an equine team, and organized volunteers who look for missing people.

In the coming week, Golden Hearts said drones will fly over the area. They will send in an equine team and volunteers will divide up search areas and go door-to-door with fliers.

The group’s cadaver team will search for Bryan Kyle Bridgeman.

Where is Kyle Bridgeman?

Bridgeman has been missing for over two months as of publication date.

Joe Edwards, a relative of Bridgeman, said the family wants closure.

Edwards said they had received a tip Bridgeman may be in a cistern near the Nelsonville cross.

This is where everybody says he might be,” Edwards said.

The Messenger previously reported the Athens County Sheriff’s Office has been also following up on tips.

Since his disappearance, rumors have swirled about where Bridgeman — or his body — might be located. No lead has yielded any results though, his family said.

Linda Johnson, his grandmother, said she believes the rumors hurt the investigation into his location because it sidetracks investigators.

Capt. Bryan Cooper of the Athens County Sheriff’s Office, said the ACSO is checking out all leads and tips they receive. Cooper said Johnson is the primary source of relaying the leads and rumors for the ACSO to follow up on.

The rumors, Bryan said, lead to more searching and areas they can know where Bridgeman isn’t.

“Without that information, without these rumors, I don’t know we would have searched half of what
we did,” Cooper said.

We’re not running out of areas (to search),” Edwards said. “We’re just running out of information. Information is getting scarce.”

Hey everyone - I just came across this case within the last month, and am in the Facebook group “Help find Bryan Kyle Bridgeman” (a link may have been posted above but it doesn’t seem like any are still working).

in the group, Linda, the grandmother has clearly stated that she knows the person he left with was someone named Paul or PJ Coon. There’s also discussion of a Lindsey Coon which I believe is his wife/partner. And by posts it seems like at one point he may have been hiding…although I would guess by now Police would have found and interviewed him.

I can’t remember where I read or heard it, but I do know somewhere there was a mention of a video game store. So I’m guessing they were planning to go to a store rather than meet with an individual. If so, I’d be very curious if he made it to that store, if there are cameras, if they were checked, etc.

Regardless, by the posts in the fb group it seems pretty clear the family and friends have very strong suspicions about who is responsible. I truly hope they can at the very least find Kyle soon.

Posting due to the location. McArthur, OH is (EBM: ~25 miles; 35 mins) SW of Nelsonville. There's absolutely no indication these remains are connected to Kyle's disappearance. I have not found any follow-up reports. My thoughts and prayers go out to the deceased and loved ones.

I remembered seeing a post where the grandmother had said a body that had been found was not Bryan’s - I went back and found the post and she said the body in Vinton County so sounds like the same one.

His poor grandmother is beside herself. Someone has to know something. Did LE move on because he had addiction issues?

I’m not sure where the investigation is at this point or if they have moved on. I know they did search some areas after tips in the beginning, but perhaps they just don’t have enough solid to go on right now…who knows.
