Sorry if this has been posted previously. Thought it could possibly be relevant. Serial killing truck driver for Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

I hadn't heard of this case until now and while I doubt it's connected in any way to the missing/murdered women, I was taken back when I read the MOD was determined to be suicide and LE had said for 8 months that there was no sign of foul play. I wonder if the autopsy was done by the same ME that did Shasta's.

Smith’s family spent a large amount of money on a private investigator who gave more evidence to authorities, and the case was ruled a homicide. The Ross County Coroner ruled Smith died of blunt force trauma.

“He was beaten on his stomach, his arms, his legs, had a fractured skull, black eyes, was also beaten in the face, to think why was this so hard,” Andrea Smith said.

I waited until it was stated in MSM (in video) before saying that this poor woman had the mentality of a 9 year old. Truly heartbreaking. RIP Rebecca :rose:

“We are devastated by the cruelty of her death,” Cindy said. “We still don’t know just what would motivate this man to be so brutal. We were advised not to see her body and so we chose cremation. We have a memorial set up at a church.”

Investigators are concerned people aren't coming forward with tips out of fear of retribution.

"The company that we use for Southern Ohio Crime Stoppers goes through a call center in Canada, so everything is routed through Canada anonymously; so you'll get a PIN number identification is a PIN number. You don't have to give them your name or anything," Meyers said.

To report tips, call Southern Ohio Crime Stoppers at 740-773-TIPS or 800-222-TIPS.

Sad that this thread has gone quiet. These women should not be forgotten.

A documentary that looks at the investigation into six Chillicothe-area women who went missing or died since May 2014 has announced an air date.

Investigation Discovery (ID) network worked with law enforcement, loved ones of the victims, and the community to document the investigations as they unfold in an effort to bring further attention and help in solving these open cases.

The first serialized docuseries for ID, the six-part series "The Vanishing Women" will premiere at 10 p.m. June 6.

So glad to see this. Thank you!

Well, this is certainly interesting.

http://nbc4i.com/2016/04/21/two-for...-resign-after-allegedly-trying-to-rape-woman/

Chillicothe police Chief Keith Washburn has confirmed that 10-year veteran Brandon Mather and 6-year veteran Tad Franklin has resigned as Chillicothe police officers...

Washburn said that while at the Inn, a woman told the two she had been beaten up by her boyfriend. Franklin took pictures of the victim but is alleged to have deleted them and not investigated the assault...

Chief Washburn said Mather went with the woman to her hotel room, then drove her to a friend’s house where she called police and said the two attempted to rape her.

Transcript of the 911 call. Very unsettling. The fact that this attack has ties to the Chillicothe Inn and targeted a vulnerable female is actually consistent with the MO of the supposed Chillicothe SK. I'm also very curious about the "friend" of Mather's who's house the assault took place at. Anyone know the identity of that person? I'd go as far to say that I haven't been this interested in a POI associated with this case since Andrew Morrison.

"Yes ma'am," the caller told the police dispatcher. "I don't know how to really explain this. My wife and I have been separated for a little bit. She's texting me saying she's at a cop or policeman's house named Brandon Mathers (sic) up in Chillicothe? Is there a cop named Brandon Mathers (sic)?"

When the police dispatcher said there was, the caller said, "Ok well she needs help then. There are two guys trying to rape her, has her pants undone, is what she is texting me."
