Critics accuse baby Elaina's family of misusing donations

Mourning has turned to anger for one side of Elaina Steinfurth’s family, as the baby’s maternal grandfather accuses other family members of misusing donated funds.

Shortly after Elaina went missing in June, the family set up an account at PNC Bank titled “Bring Elaina Home.” The family has also been raising funds through a bake sale, car wash, and a benefit concert. Elaina’s maternal grandfather, Richard Schiewe, is now saying those donation funds are being used for personal expenses.

Funeral home services for Elaina Steinfurth free-of-charge
The director of the funeral home where services for Elaina will be held, says Angela's attorney asked for official paperwork to be sent over regarding the services, and that request would be taken back to the judge later that day.
But immediately following the hearing, Richard Schiewe was not optimistic about that possibility.
"She wants to come, but she knows she's not going to be able to," Schiewe said.
The prosecutors office said they would object to the request, and indeed, late Wednesday, the judge did deny the request.
Meanwhile, the funeral home, Eggleston, Meinert & Pavely Funeral Home has offered their services to the Steinfurth family free of charge.
"We made a call to them and said we would provide services to lay their little girl to rest," says funeral home director Larry Schaffer.
