What I want to know is how long she was with the second twin, and how long he was alone. Also, what did she do when she was with the babies.. did she talk nicely to them, give them a bottle, comfort, anything, or god forbid she did anything harmful/cruel to them.
Taking him from his parents was harmful and cruel.

Barnett said that Kason had a bad diaper rash and that he’s been really hungry. He remains in an Indianapolis hospital today. Barnett he’ll remain there at least Saturday because they “can tell he’s exhausted.”

“I haven’t got him to smile yet and that’s not normal,” she told Bedell, noting that he is getting back to acting like himself.

This is a very busy area with several restaurants. I can’t believe no one noticed the car for two days. Even if they didn’t know about the Amber Alert I would think some one would have seen and reported a baby left inside a car.
If the windows were foggy or frosted, people might not have seen him at all.

He was found in the nick of time. I don't think he would have survived overnight in the car. The weather turned extremely cold.

I was just thinking, 'welp, she's not homeless anymore....!' That baby's face got me to emerge from my lurking ways :)

INDIANAPOLIS — “These are the moment we live for,” said IMPD Sgt. Shawn Anderson. Nodding in agreement was Sgt. Richard El.

The two were among the first IMPD officers to reach a weathered black Honda in an Indianapolis parking lot, where inside in his car seat was 5-month-old Kason Thomas.

“He was a little cold, but we were able to pick him up and warm him up,” said Sgt. El.

A photo released by IMPD shows Kason safely in the arms of Sgt. Anderson.

Said Anderson about that moment, “It felt like the relief of holding one of my own children. It was one of the best feelings and experiences that I’ve had in my 23 years in law enforcement.“

So the baby had nothing to eat or drink for two days :(

Jason Vannort works for Papa John’s and he had noticed the car sitting in front of the store for a couple days. He told me he parked his own car next to it but that abandon cars are fairly common in the area and he didn’t think twice about it.

Then the cops showed up and surrounded the car.

“Fortunately, they found a baby in the car that had been sitting there for a few days thank god he was OK,” Vannort said.

Vannort says Jackson came in the store and asked about a job. “She came in Tuesday morning probably around 8 o’ clock and was asking about bus passes and asking if we were hiring. I didn’t think too much about it. She was here for about 20 minutes and left and walked right past the car, and I didn’t see her again.”

Police arrested Jackson on Thursday afternoon, but she didn’t offer much information on the boy’s location. Police found Kason just as the weather was getting nasty/ He had been alone for two days, with nothing to eat or drink

She left him in a car and as far as I can tell didn't even tell police where the car was after she was arrested.
What difference does it make if she talked to them nicely or not? This child wouldn't have made it if not found before artic blast hit that night. If they found him the next morning it's a good bed he would have been frozen to death.
I think OP was saying, I hope she didn't do anything to them over and above what we already know. MOO

That's starting to reach the outer edges of what some babies can endure as far as surviving without liquids. And talk about down to the wire as far as the storm and the cold!! He must have had something covering him other than a onesie. It's bloody cold!!! AMOO

AFAIK none of the MSM articles have stated what led to the police locating the suspect in Indianapolis. Was she just walking down the street and the police recognized her?

They did say a tip led them to the baby being found in the stolen vehicle by the Papa Johns. I think it is odd those details have not been released.

Of course the most important thing is that the baby was located.

On local news here they said there had been several tips of the suspect being seen in the area. They said a woman saw the baby in the car and “ran screaming” to the officers as they were eating lunch at a nearby restaurant.

This area has many restaurants and is usually busy with foot traffic, even in the winter. It is in the IUPUI university area, so normally many students are walking to and from the restaurants. I am guessing that the students are on break this week so probably not as much foot traffic as usual.

MOO because no link

It has been reported that police got tips suspect was in the area. The same for the baby's location in the car. I hope we find more soon.
