Homecoming celebration :D

***************
Barnett thanks the two women, Shyann Delmar and her cousin, Mecka Curry, who helped stage a ruse to catch Jackson which later led to the police finding Kason, calling them heroes and “angels from God.”

Barnett says the boys are happy and healthy and just have colds, but are happy to be together. She shares that Kyair couldn’t sleep without Kason, and it was clear the twins hadn’t been fed in the days they were missing.

Ohh I can't get over how cute they are <3 <3 So precious how they're identical except one has black hair and one has brown! So glad to see them together again.

Are they identical twins? I don't think they are, just based on looking at their faces. But can truly identical twins have different colors of hair? Also their skin tones look a bit different as well. It doesn't really matter in the big scheme of things, though.

INDIANAPOLIS (WCMH) — Nalah Jackson, the woman accused of stealing a running car with infant twins inside and setting off a multiday Amber Alert in Ohio just before Christmas, had her trial date set Tuesday morning.

During a bail review hearing at Marion Superior Court, Jackson’s bond remained at $500 for a felony charge of battery by bodily waste. The local sheriff’s office accused her of spitting on a deputy while being processed.

Additionally, Jackson will appear in court again on Jan. 11 for a pretrial conference. She will return on Jan. 31 for her final pretrial hearing before her jury trial commences on Feb. 9.

It remains unclear when Jackson might be returned to Ohio, where she could potentially face federal charges.

Jackson will finish out her sentence in Indiana before being brought back to Ohio to begin court proceedings. The U.S. Attorney's office said the federal charges, which were filed by a grand jury's indictment on Thursday, will replace a charge of kidnapping that had previously been filed by Columbus police in Franklin County Municipal Court.

Additional details about the evidence that investigators have against Jackson were not revealed on Thursday.

The woman accused of stealing a car with twin 5-month-old brothers inside from Columbus last month and eventually arrested in Indianapolis made her initial appearance in federal court in Columbus Friday to face kidnapping charges. Nalah Jackson, 24, appeared in federal court in Columbus Friday afternoon to hear U.S. District Magistrate Judge Kimberly A. Jolson tell her that a federal grand jury has charged her with two counts of kidnapping a minor.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Emily K. Czerniejewski explained at the hearing that if Jackson is convicted of the counts as charged, she faces a minimum of 20 years in prison and a maximum of life in prison on each count.

Jolson set a detention hearing for Tuesday afternoon, where prosecutors will ask for Jackson to remain in jail pending trial.

"That's based on the fact that each count carries up to life in prison and the counts as charged do contain acts of violence toward minor children," Czerniejewski said.

At the hearing, Jackson was assigned Assistant U.S. Public Defender George Chaney to represent her.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Nalah Jackson, the woman accused of kidnapping 5-month-old twins when she stole their mother’s car and setting off a multiday Amber Alert before Christmas, made her first appearance in federal court Wednesday.

A federal judge set Jackson’s next court date for March 15 for a final pretrial conference. Afterward, her trial was tentatively set to begin on March 20. She also waived her detention hearing on Wednesday, but could ask for it to be held at a later date if she changes her mind.

On Monday, she appeared in Franklin County Municipal Court, where she was charged with two counts of kidnapping and several lesser charges including driving while under suspension, reckless operation and failure to stop. Bond was set at $1.5 million, and based on her prior conviction history, including one for child endangerment, she was ordered to stay away from all minors.

This seems unusually fast for a trial, no?

BREAKING: One of the twin infants rescued during a statewide Amber Alert last month has died, according to a family spokesperson.

January 29, 2023 6:58AM

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — One of the twin infants rescued during a statewide Amber Alert last month has died, according to a family spokesperson.

Ky’air Thomas died in Columbus Sunday morning, according to Davante Goins, a spokesperson and advocate for the Thomas family. His cause of death has yet to be released.

About one month ago, Ky’air and his brother Kason — five months old at the time — were safely returned home after being abducted from the Short North on Dec. 19, when the children’s mother’s running car was stolen outside a Donato’s restaurant.

Oh, no! This is so sad. Prayers for the family.

A family member on the video at the following link says that Ky'air chocked while feeding. There is a picture of him taken with his brother just a few hours ago.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Columbus Police homicide detectives are investigating the death of the twin brother of a kidnapped baby boy recovered in Indianapolis following an Amber Alert in December.
Six-month-old Kyair Thomas died just before midnight, police said.
Homicide detectives responded to a call for an unresponsive child, and are investigating the baby’s death.

Shocking and incredibly sad.

Well, if that's the case, the charges against Jackson shouldn't change. I wasn't sure if it was going to come out that he had residual health issues linked to the abduction and exposure.
There will be an autopsy on Monday to try to determine what caused the baby's death.

I just came to post this. They were well when they were found, correct? <modsnip - not victim friendly>

Her actions throughout the course of the abduction and the time Kason sat, freezing, in a carpark for up to two days, say otherwise. If she cared about them, she would have told LE where he was when she was arrested. I can't believe they didn't ask her, repeatedly, as that arctic storm bore down.

Until we hear otherwise, Ky'air's death sounds like a tragic but accidental death, one many infants and toddlers unfortunately suffer.
