Whatever John. You already got way with murder and got to enjoy freedom you didn't deserve for over 13 years.

Maximum of 36 months in prison

Carter took a plea deal Friday, pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter, a felony of the third degree. All other charges will be dropped. The maximum possible prison term for the charge is 36 months.

Defense attorney Lawrence Hawkins stated in court Carter did cause Markham's death in Fairfield in 2011 during the commission of a misdemeanor.

When asked after the court hearing how Markham was killed, neither Hawkins or Carter provided any comment.

He only gets 3 years!?!?! What a deal!
3 years is the MAXIMUM he will receive.

Sentencing is set for July 18.

My bet is, he will get the maximum sentence of 36 months, plus the maximum amount of supervised release.

I hope it's not like other cases where the convict only serves a percentage of their sentence before being paroled.

Unfortunately, outside of Federal crimes, most non-Federal sentences have the possibility of time off for good behavior. And this guy doesn't appear to be the type to stir up trouble in prison. I hope ALL of it is hard time and not in country club prison with the white collar crooks.

Skeletal remains identified as Markham’s were found in 2013 in a wooded area in Cedar Grove, Indiana, about 20 miles (about 32 kilometers) west of her home in Fairfield. Authorities ruled her death a homicide but did not determine how she was killed.

Butler County prosecutors have said Carter caused Markham's death by “physical violence and by force.”
