Danielyelle White has been excluded.

Thanks! It looks like I mistakenly marked Kimberly Riley as a new exclusion and didn't look further down the list. The 4th new exclusion was Danielyelle White. Dana and Lisa/Darla were submitted later, so looks like they are methodically working through our submissions.

Another NAMUS update to 55 exclusions. I believe this is the new exclusion:
Amber Cates 1988 Tennessee

NAMUS bumped to 56 exclusions - latest name:
Morgan Nick 1988 Arkansas

These girls and women below have the names Diane or Diana as a first name or middle name. I also decided Shawn Estes may have misheard Donna or Dawn. Some of these actually do seem to resemble the Jane Doe.

I also entertained the idea that she may have been selling magazines to raise money for a cult. That could be why she was never reported missing.

Nice work! I mentioned Renee Yeargain on this thread, but I did not submit her name to NAMUS. Her description stated she was dedicated to her kids and the Marion Jane Doe (if Grate is to be believed) was around town for a bit. However, it mentions she was bipolar so it is possible that she was not her usual self and we don't know how accurate Grate's memory (or truthfulness) is.

I think Jamie Diane Seymour is an excellent find. She has her own thread and there is a childhood friend who is active on it. MIght be worth posting a link here for her to comment on the sketches and reconstructions and also if she knew of any ties to Ohio or to magazine crews.

The other ones are hard to comment on since the abductees were so young.

This was the first victim of Shawn Grate who has just confessed that he killed her along with several other woman. She is still unidentified. He said she was a magazine salesperson and she came to his home. He thought her name was Dana or Diane.

NAMUS just updated today with 2 new exclusions:
Jamie Seymour 1984 New Jersey
Renee Yeargain 1980 Wyoming

Still no updates on Dana Zelic and Lisa (Darla) Douglas.

Really hoping this gets solved in time for the charges to be filed against Shawn Grate and so that the family of this UID Jane Doe can be informed!

A couple of thoughts about the victim's name.

Rather than the name being a first name, it could be a middle name or it could be a nick name. Another possibility is that it could be a street name.

And it also could be possible that the victim's name was not a first, middle, nick, or street name.

It could be possible that SG met the victim somewhere, and the victim gave him a false name if she thought SG was creepy or suspicious.

Woah. I never really thought of it that way, this is very true. I just can't get over that if she WAS from Ohio, then why hasn't anyone come forward, it breaks my heart that she was forgotten.

My previous reconstruction of this girl was basically just a colorization of the NCMEC reconstruction. But since the Marion County LE released the sketch that was based on Shaun Grate's description of the victim, it was obvious that my previous colorization needed a major overhaul.

This revision is based on the structure depicted in the the NCMEC facial reconstruction, and the overall look described by Shaun Grate.

Looks great! Wish they could get Grate's opinion; seems he's gone silent.

So glad to see the activity on this thread! Thanks so much for the new colorized reconstruction - I really think that Lisa "Darla" Douglas is a very, very close fit. I am not good at creating the side-by-side comparisons, but this new sketch bears a strong resemblance to the photos of Lisa/Darla. Along with the fact that she was from MI and went to OH. She has already been submitted to NAMUS- I hope they can match or eliminate soon.

Thank you for this. The Nickname "Darla" might fit in with this Shawn Grate victim. He may have just got it confused with Dana/Diane.

NAMUS updated again today to 59 exclusions, the new addition to the ruled out list is:
Diana Mazariegos 1991 California

I had not seen her mentioned on this thread before.

That ties in with my theory that she could have been selling magazines to raise money for a cult.

This is the second Jane Doe I know of who died while doing door-to-door magazine sales. In 2005, 18 year old Samantha Bonnell of Wasila Alaska moved down to Los Angeles, and joined a magazine subscriptions sales crew. On September 4, 2005, she was struck by several vehicles while attempting to run through traffic on Interstate 10 in Montclair, CA. She remained unidentified for two years until her mother found her listing on Doe Network.

Her story is detailed in this episode of Disappeared on the Investigation Discovery ID Channel

Mary Ann Switalski (Chicago, IL 1963) also allegedly went missing as part of a door-to-door magazine subscription organization.
It's how my mom met my dad in 1964 - she answered a job ad placed in our local paper by my father to sell magazine subscriptions.

Authorities are still trying to identify the first alleged victim of Shawn Grate, the suspected Ohio serial killer who is charged with killing two women and a suspect in two more murders.

“It’s frustrating,” Marion County Sheriff Tim Bailey tells PEOPLE. “Very, very frustrating. Particularly for my people who want to identify her and get her back to her family.”

Grate allegedly confessed to Doe’s murder after his arrest days earlier in Ashland, two counties east of Marion, after police received a desperate 911 call from a woman who alleged Grate had abducted her.

“When they were putting him back in his jail cell he [allegedly] said ‘Well, yeah, I killed a girl in Marion,'” Bailey tells PEOPLE. “It was that easy.”

Grate allegedly told authorities the woman’s name was Diana, Dana or Dina. He allegedly said she sold magazines. He believed she was from Ohio but couldn’t remember her full name.
Bailey believes Doe may be from out of the country. He tells PEOPLE he is currently working with another agency following a new lead. He could not comment further on the lead, citing the ongoing investigation.

“It’s to a personal level of wanting to bring this girl home,” Bailey says. “She was found on a road called Victory Road so internally the guys here are calling her ‘Vicky.’ It puts a name to a face, and even after all these years, every time we get a lead we still get a little excited.”

BBM. Maybe she was from Canada? Good to hear the investigators are still working the case. I hope Vicky will have her real name back soon.
