If you read the autopsy reports all the victims remained in the homes all day Friday and the next day Saturday the 23Rd the ME started with Hannah Gilley she was first for Saturday morning around 10:00 AM, the next person to get autopsy was Hanna May Rhoden it was from 12:00PM to 2:00PM after that the Medical Examiner did autopsy on Dana Rhoden from 2:00PM to 4 o’clock , the ME did the visual part on Chris Rhoden jr Saturday and the next day Sunday at 10:00AM the Medical Examiner preformed the main autopsy on Chris Rhoden jr autopsy until 12:00PM after his was Gary Rhoden autopsy from 12:00Pm until 2:00 o’clock, Kenneth Rhoden autopsy was from 2 o’clock until 4 o’clock after that Chris Rhoden Sr had just the visual part of the exam Sunday, Monday April 25th is when the final part of the autopsy was performed on Big Chris so if you think about it, Chris Sr was deceased 3 days more than the others at the time of their autopsy and I think that’s where the phrase of decomposed more than the rest of the family came from, JMO

(BBM in quote above)

Per the link below, as soon as the body is refrigerated at the morgue, refrigeration stops the decomposition progress. So as long as all eight bodies were refrigerated around the same time, the decomposition of all eight would have been halted at about the same time. Just because CRSR's autopsy was performed three days later than the first ones doesn't matter. The refrigeration stopped the process of decomposition of all eight bodies at the same time. JMO

"When a body is preserved though refrigeration, it is kept at a temperature below 40°F, which sufficiently delays decomposition."

Reasons For Refrigerating The Body Before Burial Or Cremation

The bodies were transferred to the Hamilton County Coroner, a 2.5 hour drive on April 22nd. I remember the news story and footage of them being transported. I also remember reading that a group of motorcycles accompanied them but have never been able to find proof . I brought the motorcyclist up a few years ago and got laugh emojis in response .

At any rate here is a link dated april 22, 2016 that states they were taken to hamilton county ohio, or Cincinnati.

Yes, pretty sure its in the Timeline. It's also discussed in the depositions taken for the 2 newspaper's lawsuits against Pike County Coroner seeking to view unredacted copies of the autopsy reports. It's on the Ohio Supreme Court Docket Web site, look for the link in the Media & Timelines thread.

Coroner David Kessler says he was called to the crime scenes that morning, met with Ohio BCI, who told him they were taking over the investigation. They had contacted the Adams or Scioto County Coroner who went to some of the scenes. Pike Co Coroner and his assistant went to the other scenes. They contacted Hamilton County ME, even though the usually sent bodies to another county for autopsies. Because of the large number and the investigation, they were loaded into a refrigerated truck later that day and shipped to Hamilton County ME's office.

Media & Timeline NO DISCUSSION - Pike Co, OH 8 Family Members Murdered

http://supremecourt.ohio.gov/pdf_viewer/pdf_viewer.aspx?pdf=816543.pdf

I recall us watching overhead video that day from one of the news helicopters of the various rescue and other vehicles around at either end of UHR and that little side road that intersects with UHR near Dana Rhoden's place. Before they removed the bodies from the crime scenes, they made the news media cut their cameras. LE didn't want video footage of the bodies being removed. AFAIK, no photos or video of the removal has ever appeared in the news media or anywhere.

ETA: In summary, the bodies were not left at the crime scene for very long. They were removed within a few hours.

Montgomery County Coroner's office loaned them the refrigerated trailer.

Wonder why they went almost two hours to Hamilton County (Cincinnati)Ohio, instead of an hour and twenty minutes to Franklin County (Columbus) Ohio

IIRC Hamilton County was willing and able to do it. Could be Franklin County was too busy that day. Having to autopsy 8 people at once, on top of the average workload, would be difficult.

Remember, too, Hamilton County handled a lot of the work for the Beverly Hills Supper Club fire many years ago (1977 or so, right?). Maybe they're still more prepared for mass casualties. IDK. Either way, they agreed.

All of the evidence being gathered was going to BCI in Columbus, so they were swamped, too.

ETA: Also assuming, for evidence and trial purposes, they wanted all the autopsies done ASAP, at the same facility, supervised or conducted by the same pathologist/ME. They were extremely particular about "chain of custody" on all the evidence in this investigation. They didn't want any surprises at trial if a defense attorney made an argument because ME #1 did an autopsy one way and ME #2 did it another.

Here's proof but it was from the funerals:

Following the sheriff’s deputy were seven motorcycles from the Red Knights Motorcycle Club, a group of firefighters. That group is holding a poker run and auction Saturday to benefit the Rhoden family. The event starts at 10 a.m. at Piketon High School.

I’m going to ask this question again and it is totally off the subject of what we have talked about,
Someone Is Talking In The Four Wagner Family, (Who Is It)
The BCI doesn’t spend a week wading through ponds and looking around cemetery, one of the 4 Wagners are turning evidence, Who do you people think it is, if you look at the news reports on the new searches of Flying W Farm BCI spends 5 day At Fredericka farm, they knew what and where to search and when WSAZ interviewed Fredericka she knew that one of 4 Wagners is talking, one more thing last couple times George 4th had trial he does not acknowledge Fredericka at all coming in and leaving the courtroom, she moves towards the front and waves at him but he turns his head and walks back to be transported to jail, I wonder if the family has had A fight, JMO
I have said all along that George will be the one to talk first. He has the most to lose and had the least to gain from the murders. Maybe he has finally realized he is not his brother's keeper.

JMO

I think it may have been RN. The new searches were close to her plea deal.
Interesting point. That searches were very close to Rita's plea deal. There were only 5 business days between the new searches and the cancelling of Rita's trial. Coincidence? Remember, her plea deal obligates her to cooperate with prosecutors.

HUMMM.......

November 4th through Friday November 8th, 2019 = Search at Flying W Farms

November 18, 2019 = Rita Newcomb Jury Trial scheduled for this day is cancelled.

December 2nd, 2019 = Rita entered her guilty plea/plea deal and must cooperate with prosecutors, who in turn will recommend a low end sentence.

It's a very interesting question you pose Johnny. All sorts of senarios jump to mind including one of the W4 talking. Something spurred that search. Some new info that the judge agreed was needed and then was valid enough to allow another search warrant and more investigation at FW's ranch. Very interesting indeed...considering FW no longer has charges against her.

I agree CC the timeline fits and the defence attorneys wanted to know what was in RNs plea.

Did the defense get that information that is in Rita's plea? I will have to go back and listen to what the Judge says about it.

So if Canepa doesn't want the Wagner's defense attorneys to have the information, something could be seriously going on, that Rita told them something or is suppose to testify about something specific at trial.

The same motorcycle club (*as well as LE*) also escorted the bodies back to Pike County after the autopsies were complete.

"Manley said bodies will be released to the funeral home Tuesday morning. A motorcycle club will escort them the roughly 60 miles home back to Pike County, where they will be laid out each in a casket side-by-side for the funeral service."

I believe it is a territorial thing. I’ve noticed most of the southern Ohio deaths go to Hamilton whereas yrs ago they all went to Franklin. I believed it changed sometime in the 1990s. Even people from southeastern Oh (ie: Gallia & Lawrence) go to Hamilton instead of Franklin. I believe there are also Cleveland and Toledo State Coroners.

Completely understood, makes perfect sense. The BCI is located in London Ohio a little closer to Pike County
