I too would like to know Trudie. Since this could possibly be the jury pool I would like to know general attitudes. Do the people there think the W's are guilty and how much involvement do they think Fred and Rita had in the whole thing? Also do they think that the late husbands of Fred and Rita knew about it? What do they think about the motive? Do they think more than just custody was part of the motive?

Of course it would all be just rumor but it could give us a good take on what a jury might think.

One could just preface things like that by saying, This is only hearsay, but, I was at X with Y, at Z, and I heard, L, M, N, & O, talking about P.

Let’s have a poll of sorts.

Do you think the 4 will go to trial?

I might eat crow (won’t be my first crow dinner) but I don’t.

People like to think the defense/prosecutor are adversaries. Nothing is further from the truth. Both sides in a DP case are highly motivated to move towards speedy resolution. A plea with death off the table is a win-win. The defense (potentially) saves a life, the prosecutor wins because he has a conviction. Because a case is tried as DP is absolutely no assurance the end result will be death. Statistics show most end as LWOP. The same as a plea would likely be in these 4 cases.
After receipt of discovery the defense atty is remiss if he doesn’t advise his client he has no chance of a “not guilty” verdict. He is bound by law to suggest bargaining, statistics again reveal most defendants will opt for a deal over potential DP.

IMO, a bigger problem, if they opt for trial, is this: #1 is found guilty of murdering all 8 and receives his sentence.

#2 stands trial for murdering the same 8. But, someone is already under sentence for murdering the same 8. So now what? Even with a dif’ jury, I won’t buy into the “I’ve heard nothing about the first trial”, people lie to be chosen as a juror. They’re not thinking “civic duty”, they’re thinking book deals, tabloid tv interviews & fame.

I’m a realist. It is what it is, not what I want it to be.

May a higher power help us all if these go to trial and the jury pool is from the immediate area. Most of the people I observed today probably can’t write a three syllable word. No way could they understand legal jargon.

They had a 2200 sq ft house in several acres. It was a trailer with a huge add in. It wasn’t small at all
Several acres are great in outside weather.
I didn't realize it was 2200 sf though so thx for the info.
Still...aw, maybe I'm just spoiled but I'm a nicer person when it's not too bumper to bumper in my nest.

It would take a heckuva lot more than alcohol for me!!! Two adult children, two grandchildren (nearly the same age) and two parents. Jail may have started looking good to them. I do get the feeling that GW4 stayed behind, and was doing okay on his own. It may be why she was proud of him. He broke free from the family. I wonder if AW ever thought about breaking free? Money isn't everything and being taken care of by your mil would suck.

Hi there! Can you answer, did AW/G3 move from FWF immediately after the murders. Do you recall?

He has been seen at the casinos in Vevay & Lawrenceburg, IN. He’s def’ on video there.

Hmm. I have clients who work for casinos. One client told me that she saw a guy win 120,000.00 and lose every bit of it in one night. She said that is by no means an isolated incident.

Then again I had someone come in with about 100 W2-G's amounting to over 380,000.00.

You can get rid of a heck of a lot of money in a casino in one night. I wonder how much Charlie is accused of taking?

I only had coffee. I’m ultra paranoid about the lack of cleanliness in strange eateries. Lol. I can barely tolerate anyone touching my food or eating with flatware someone touched or placed on a table wiped with a germ laden cloth. I’m always the one that gets the glass with lipstick on the rim or egg yolk stuck on the plate.

We heard nothing new, only opinions & unkind comments.

The crowd was 60ish or older & have very staunch views regarding the living standards & general lifestyles of some involved. The couple we conversed with both had an “if they had only.....” attitude. I got the impression they have lived a severely sheltered, small town existence. Very unworldly. I think they never realized people engage in premarital sex, have children out of wedlock, break up, make up, etc. Drug dealing , in their opinion is the entire reason for this tragedy. They are regulars that gather for daily gossip.
Never heard the W’s mentioned. Maybe people were a little aloof or paranoid because we are not regulars. Although my friend is in and out of the diner a few times a month. They best get used to strangers, once trials begin, people will flock to the area.

Sounds about right. Kinda like my little hometown, and many others throughout the region. No matter how accepted that weed has become, to most over 65, it's still considered to be just horrible. The GATEWAY drug.

O/T While we are on the subject of MJ I thought you might be interested in this. They have already opened up a medical MJ dispensary about a block outside of my town. When I went by today the parking lot was jammed packed with cars. It looked like a Black Friday sale on shoes. LOL. I didn't even know they were selling it yet.

I’ve wondered if she might have ulterior motives for sticking around.
I think a few days ago we discussed what it would be like if FW died. Who would get shot multiple times in the process of estate settlement?
If she’s hanging on for money, it didn’t work out to well, huh?
My grandma always said: if you’re with someone for their money, it’ll be the hardest job you’ll ever have.

(remember, we discussed trusts)
