I don't know about the 4 trials, it really depends on so many things including how the murders really went down (did they all shoot, or was one a driver and one stay home), plus how strong the evidence/witnesses are, plus how the victims families feel, plus what the W's are willing to confess to, which includes whether any of the W's are willing to implicate the others.

If the W's all just plead not guilty, it has nothing to do with us, I think the prosecution will start with whomever they consider 'most guilty' or most likely to be convicted. Then the others might change their pleas depending on that first trial.

Maybe that is why all of the evidence gathered in Ak is so important..
Could be because if reader guilty of wrong doing the the defense could have a hay day evidence gathered in Ohio, if any from properties. I bet Dewine not too happy about this situation in Pike County. CR brother works for prosecutors office. Jmo

Let’s have a poll of sorts.

Do you think the 4 will go to trial?

I might eat crow (won’t be my first crow dinner) but I don’t.

People like to think the defense/prosecutor are adversaries. Nothing is further from the truth. Both sides in a DP case are highly motivated to move towards speedy resolution. A plea with death off the table is a win-win. The defense (potentially) saves a life, the prosecutor wins because he has a conviction. Because a case is tried as DP is absolutely no assurance the end result will be death. Statistics show most end as LWOP. The same as a plea would likely be in these 4 cases.
After receipt of discovery the defense atty is remiss if he doesn’t advise his client he has no chance of a “not guilty” verdict. He is bound by law to suggest bargaining, statistics again reveal most defendants will opt for a deal over potential DP.

IMO, a bigger problem, if they opt for trial, is this: #1 is found guilty of murdering all 8 and receives his sentence.

#2 stands trial for murdering the same 8. But, someone is already under sentence for murdering the same 8. So now what? Even with a dif’ jury, I won’t buy into the “I’ve heard nothing about the first trial”, people lie to be chosen as a juror. They’re not thinking “civic duty”, they’re thinking book deals, tabloid tv interviews & fame.

I’m a realist. It is what it is, not what I want it to be.

May a higher power help us all if these go to trial and the jury pool is from the immediate area. Most of the people I observed today probably can’t write a three syllable word. No way could they understand legal jargon.

Folks aren't what they seem sometimes. If someone saw me at a local watering hole, and the next day, in the courtroom, they may not even recognize me. They don't have to understand legal jargon. They just have to be presented with irrefutable evidence, that the W's are responsible for the murders of the Rs and HHG.

If guilty of using confiscated funds for personal use it’s called stealing jmo
IF is the key word. To be fair, all we have right now is an article with an anonymous complaint. While I don’t doubt there is corruption everywhere, not just this area, I also know people make false complaints against public officials and by law those complaints have to be filed up on. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Where does that info come from, if you don’t mind me asking? I haven’t read that anywhere but it’s very possible I missed that info. TIA :)

No, you didn’t miss it. It’s not illegal to go to the casinos. It wouldn’t be reported in the daily news. People that go are seen because the two I mentioned are not very busy. Look around, never know who ya might see.

People talk.

There’s a very well known criminal thats seen at the casinos I mrntioned. He’s def’ the topic of discussion. But, he served his time and now walks free. Idk if I am allowed to name him? Maybe his crime? Advise, please.
I believe if you can link it with the criminals record, you can post it.

ETA-thank you for clarifying that I didn’t miss it. WS can be tricky when it comes to sharing stuff like that because to state something as fact, we have to be able to provide a source. Totally not giving you a hard time or anything, I promise. Just don’t wanna see anyone get TO for hearsay ya know? I often use lots of “JMO”’s and hypothetical approaches to share things that I know but can’t link. I hope that helps Ms. Trudie.

I completely agree that is why I said if. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. Hopefully they will get the Sheriff problem figured out quickly one way or the other Jmo

I used to entertain one stayed home but per indictments, that’s not the case. I assume from wire-taps or the likes, they have someone discussing all 4 were present & accounted for. Idk if the DA picks the first case or if defense advises he’s ready. That’s an interesting thought.
