There’s little on any of these Wagner threads that’s linked.
Speaking of links, I was back reading another forum. Someone mentioned something that was on TV this a.m., they found the link, but then the link went missing & the article couldn’t be found again.
I’ve looked for three dif’ articles I know I’ve read multiple times. Now, they are gone. No joke.

I noticed the statement "We are scared to death of him" disappeared from the article really fast. Within minutes. It was in the first article linked but not in the subsequent ones.

I only had coffee. I’m ultra paranoid about the lack of cleanliness in strange eateries. Lol. I can barely tolerate anyone touching my food or eating with flatware someone touched or placed on a table wiped with a germ laden cloth. I’m always the one that gets the glass with lipstick on the rim or egg yolk stuck on the plate.

We heard nothing new, only opinions & unkind comments.

The crowd was 60ish or older & have very staunch views regarding the living standards & general lifestyles of some involved. The couple we conversed with both had an “if they had only.....” attitude. I got the impression they have lived a severely sheltered, small town existence. Very unworldly. I think they never realized people engage in premarital sex, have children out of wedlock, break up, make up, etc. Drug dealing , in their opinion is the entire reason for this tragedy. They are regulars that gather for daily gossip.
Never heard the W’s mentioned. Maybe people were a little aloof or paranoid because we are not regulars. Although my friend is in and out of the diner a few times a month. They best get used to strangers, once trials begin, people will flock to the area.

Are you sure you stopped at the 23 Diner, or could it have been the Riverside? I know the owners of the 23 Diner, and they would never allow what you have described. They are VERY clean there, and in fact Dewine held a small rally there. The owner is an ex police chief, and a good Christian family man. Stay away from a lot of places when eating in Pike County though. For reference, I eat at the Diner, or Richie's BBQ, that's it. Lol.

Sadly, the articles seem to disappear all of the time. I’ve made a habit now to screenshot them as soon as they’re posted just because I got so frustrated trying to find old articles only to find they had been removed or edited. It drives me crazy lol

Wow. Is this the W's revenge? If so he was hit with some serious charges. Does Ohio have legal gambling? Are there casinos near there or in Ohio at all? How about KY or WV?

We do have casinos in Ohio, Columbus.. Cincinnati, across the river from Cincinnati in Kentucky. West Virginia down around Charleston. My guess would be IF Charlie was gambling it would be either at the horse track *casino* south of Columbus or Hollywood Casino west of Columbus.

Or, maybe he did the high stakes poker games locally, I doubt if any of it is true as it sounds like a disgruntled former employee IMO.

One thing is for sure, his attorney Jim Boulger will represent him well, he is a sharp toothed tiger.

I know. Several of us read about Jake getting married. I swear I saw a pic of him and his gf, bride, whatever she was at that time. Now....nothing.

And I know eithervDeWine or Reader said something like “.......and you thought moving to Alaska would.......but we were ready for you.” It was during a presser. Now, I can’t find it. Despite wasting good hours of my life searching.

No, not 23, just referring to the place as “diner”. And it is not what I’d call clean, if you know what I mean. A place where locals gather. Think of a dirty establishment full of farmers & single men, all grouped together, & a few couples. Everyone knows everyone. With hep A and whatever else is going around, I can’t stomach eating out.
Next time I’m in Waverly I need to get BBQ to bring home.
Another thing I think was evident from convo, that we could over hear, some of the farmer type men (not criticizing, just describing, based on attire, boots, trucks) still think there could be more suspects or suspects from the drug world. I wonder if they got that idea when cartel was floated in the media? And, they can’t think it can be anything other. Take the first idea and run with it mentality. I doubt any amount of evidence could change their minds.

I more than likely would show up on some of those same cams. lol Who says he is "def'" on camera? Besides, it is not illegal unless their complainant can prove he stole money to do the gambling.

Lol, we are ALL on camera when we step foot on casino property. Right, he can gamble all he likes if he can afford it. There’s a lot of people from the area in the local casinos. If you go, I’m sure you see many you know or at least know of.

Pike County sheriff accused of using money from drug cases for gambling habit

I know they meant drug but...

used money from dug cases for a gambling habit.

Wow MITTEN Stopped me in my tracks...didn't see that coming.

Oh, for Pete's sake. Here it comes.

It doens't matter if the allegations are proven or not. The complaint alone plays to public perception of rural cops being incompetent and on the take. Look back in this thread and see how often the local cops were thought to be incompetent and unable to find a bass fiddle in a phone booth.

If the allegations turn out to be true they're another black eye for law enforcement in general and an extra kick in the ribs to every cop that works in a rural area (especially in and around Pike County Ohio).

One step foward and two steps back.

All of that is IMO.

Jmo but I don’t think people in the area ever thought it was cartel, but they did think it was more to do with drugs than anything else.

There are legal casinos in Cincy and CBus. One of our voter approved constitutional amendments that passed several years back.

Yea, we went to the downtown casino. Lol, several in our group smoke and they were not pleased to have to go outside for a cigarette. Belt era, Hollywood, Wheeling all allow smoking on the casino floor.

I think that might be more of a HR matter. Reprimand. It's not cool in any business for the employer to borrow from the employees. He's in a position of authority.

Then, the alleged lenders of those "thousands of dollars" should be smacked upside their heads for continuing to enable him.

Very interesting.

I think what happens in a diner is the opposite of what happens here (or in a trial, I hope): we express our opinions, there it's all about being sociable, so you basically leave your brain at home and only talk about safe, non-disruptive subjects that everyone can agree on, even if they don't 100 percent agree.

I spent hours looking too, and then ended up browsing other forums and hundreds of pages of discussion

The posts on one site (written mid/late Aug 2018) spoke of JW and his new wife. Bride from TX? Which confuses me because there's a girl/30ish woman with that name in Kenai who has lived there prior the W's move....

Other things I came across, and I wonder if someone here might know the accuracy, as they were stated as facts:

1- At the time of the murders AW and GW3 were not living under same roof and hadn't been for some time -- has anyone heard that before?

2- JW colored his hair sometimes..And did so in the week prior the murders? I know plenty of people color hair, whether it's blue or purple for style or natural colors to cover gray like me -- not sure what his reasons were, or why it strikes me odd that he was coloring his, but it does.

Also--

I see little S often referred to as SW? Since JW and HMR were not married, isn't she SR? Or did they legally change her name?

Lastly, these anonymous charges aimed at the sheriff, how much can this potentially damage the case against the W's? Is this why AW looked so smug the other dayp?
