They didn't go to the warehouse with all that force at night to serve a writ. No way. All that they had and on OT to serve a writ? Ive worked at a place where they came and catalogued things And didn't take a trailer and would lock it inside if they did.

1othefew,

Welcome back. You said there are some theories based on bad information in our thread.

I don't want to spread bad information and you are welcome to correct any information I have posted.

You can also disagree on theories I posted if you feel the reasoning is without substance. I like to cover different angles to balance our discussion which often goes into drugs. They were also a family, more than dealers.

Also, I am open to comments on the form of my communication and line of thinking. If you think something is offensive, tell me. I am human

Thank you Iron, but I'm not sure I have a set theory. I'd def lean more toward the drugs being an issue than a scorned woman though. As someone recently posted, (and i agreed) I feel if it was a "passion kill" it would have been less organized and the one responsible would have been caught by now, not to mention the over kill of eight people. Also they would have to hire help for all that, it's not like they were all sleeping in one room. jmo as to your other statement tho, i dont remember reading about a dive team searching anywhere ? pretty sure there's not much water in the area but let me know if you find that quote.
Do you think they might have known their killers? Why do you think all eight of them were killed? Thank you.

Adding to previous message. There is a lot to read on this thread. To refresh your memory, I am a poster who likes to expand our thinking on the following topics:

1) Children, because I have two on the record, maybe three biological. I would do anything for them.

2) Love triangles, because I've been involved in the excitement of that before. I know they exist for real.

3) Jalousy and hate, because I've experienced the feeling. This is why I've made the personal choice not to own any weapon. Just saying.

I had forgotten about the dive team. Here's a few media mentions of it.

Over the past 20 days, the Butler County sheriff has sent a helicopter and a mobile command center; the Franklin County sheriff's office sent its dive team to help hunt for evidence and provided more than 60 deputies for a community vigil; Jackson County Sheriff Tedd Frazier and his deputies assisted for days in answering routine calls; and hundreds of deputies from across the state have guarded the scenes.

Franklin Co. dive team spotted heading toward Rhoden family property

I see the articles in reference to the franklin co dive team headed in the direction of the Rhoden location, yet I see nothing that indicates that the dive team went in to any pond/lake that had to do with the Rhoden's. jmo They may have been sent to be on standby if there was something found that warranted a search of any bodies of water in the area. jmo. I never saw anything that any dive team went in any waters in that area. jmo

That's where I'm at Ellet Mae. I think I remember them being on left fork but that could all have been hear say. I have nothing that says they actually dove. Seems odd that 6 days later you call out a dive team from another county they come all the way out there and do nothing. Was this just to bring out people so they could see. I imagine these properties had wells, maybe they dove in a well on one of the properties?

May be that the dive team was there as bodies to assist with the ground search simply because of the sheer size and completity of the situation. went back and found the 1st presser and these notes from cujen81 RSBM

Here are my notes from the presser for anyone who cares---

SHERIFF:
They are maintaining the crime scenes and keeping them secure and guarded, just in case they need to go back to look for something they may have missed.
This is a large investigation and they ask the public to be patient.
They are working 24 hours around the clock but predict it will be a lengthy investigation.
An OPRC Star Team (of 38 men) is currently going back over the crime scenes to make sure nothing was missed and are also searching nearby wooded areas to look for additional potential evidence. Hundreds of men and women from other departments in the state have come to assist them with this investigation.

Of course anything is possible. They were somewhere involved for a short period of time (less than one full day) is all we know.

I believe, if I remember correctly, the dive team was brought in for a missing child report.

6 days after the murders in or very near the crime scenes? So I'm just wondering if we ever came to any conclusion as to which location they went to? I don't think it's a big clue to this case. I just think it might give us insight to speculate where it started and ended.

Yes, I remember that also. Seems she was discovered before the dive team got on site.

bbm I don't think he should have mentioned the grow operation. It wasn't something that needed to be said/known to the public at the onset.

Dewine revealed it two days after. The investigation did not know then as much as today.

I agree, it skewed the whole public discussion. It prevented the people closest to the victims to do a full introspection. It provided a way out for the killers.

Without the grow op discovery, we would be tossing on this group different ideas about this case, more in line with a family murder.

Ok seems unrelated. Well there goes all that. Moving on.

I find that working with, the process of elimination helps to keep unrelated thinks out of the mix. Just wish the media that reported the dive team headed to pike co. from franklin co did there job by asking instead of just going by what they saw. jmo

I think they honestly released it to take public pressure off the case. A lot of everyday people heard drugs and accepted that. National coverage went away rewards went away. If there was no explanation given or anything indicated criminal activity, I feel a lot more of public in general would be involved/interested. I live in Pittsburgh which isn't extremely far. A lot of family's used to migrate up and down the river. I have family within an hour of where this happened. I haven't heard or seen anything in a very long time probably a month in. I may have missed something at some point, unless your on here it's all but forgotten except in that immediate region. Well I guess Ohio papers and news still mention it.

Good call Betty, the "scorned gf theory" is one that i feel is way out there. It leaves to question, why not just him, and why all the children, why not the rest of his family that he was close to ??? Seems like they would have to go Way out of their way, and in the wrong direction. jmo

How about killing the family over the children? Do you think it's possible?

It was crazy how they did the press conference and said they would not confirm anything to jeopardize the investigation end the presser walk off then came back and confirmed there was a large scale grow op. News crews had cut away and missed it by the time they came back. So I'm not telling you anything, I'm not speculating or feeding into wild theories or answering any questions. By the way the family was running a large scale grow op in 3 locations. Really? Have we had as solid of a conformation about anything else in this case?
