Definitely multiple motives. Plus I've always thought that KR was a completely unconnected "opportunistic" kill. Whomever killed him probably heard the killings were "execution style" and probably assumed one shot. Someone familiar with him that probably knew he had lots of cash and where he kept it. Use the cover of the other killings to kill KR and throw some cash around the dead body and walk out with the rest.

I thought at the time the scattering of bills on top of his body was an attempt to make the killings appear to be done by a Mexican cartel.

So, what do we know after the latest activity on the case?

On Friday 5/12 and Saturday 5/13, LE searched 3 properties of persons related in some way to the family of the bio father of Hanna Rhoden's older daughter. They conducted searches with a large contingent of LE, crime lab vehicles, earth moving equipment and heavily armed officers

LE agencies involved were: Ohio BCI, AG's office, US Hwy 23 Major Crimes (Drug Pipeline) Task Force, and LE from Adams, Pike and Franklin Counties and Ohio Dept of Correction STAR.

The family of J Wagner, the bio father, have sold their farm and their whereabouts are unknown. The location of Hanna Rhoden's older daughter, who was in the custody of J Wagner, is also unknown

No one was arrested or taken into custody at any of the locations

Not sure what they were looking for, but they searched a barn, horse trailers and another kind of trailer (?)

Searched surrounding land on one of the properties, where the baby daddy once lived

The only things we know for certain they hauled away were some 4 wheel ATVs. Other items may have been taken

Not sure what areas they searched at Flying W Farms, nor what they took away with them

A female resident of Flying W told a reporter she knew nothing about what LE was looking for or anything about other searches

Some LE spokespersons stated SWAT teams were also part of the search and that there were arrest warrants. Those statements were later retracted.

Where is Sophia Rhoden Wagner?

Anything I'm missing?

The whereabouts of SRW are a private matter. Unless there is an Amber Alert. Not to my knowledge.

So if SRW family wants to go on a trip, I suppose they can.

The whereabouts of SRW are a private matter is it? Unless there is an Amber Alert. Not to my knowledge.

The timing of the trip is what strikes me as odd.

Two questions popped into my mind while reading Betty P's above post:
1. Could there have been a quieter search(es) carried out some where other than the "show of force" searches of the Wagner properties?
2. Could the Wagner family be in protective custody or witness protection?
I think this is the most convoluted crime and investigation I have ever heard about. Multiple theories and each of them containing something believable.

Howdy! Excellent summation. I believe LE is headed in the right direction. And although I am not a betting person, I am of the opinion that the infant's father is the same as her sister. It seems to me that multiple people have to be involved in the murders and the planning. A woman or even multiple women being involved would not surprise me in the least regarding the planning and perhaps even the executions.

This case haunts me. The deaths are all equally tragic, but for some reason Hanna's murder is particularly troublesome to me.

Well, there is no arrest warrant , so where is the problem?

The problem is that the state police, AG's office, etc. just conducted a massive armed search of the property where SRW was living with her bio father and his parents. That's a red flag, indicating LE thinks some kind of dangerous, illegal activity has been connected to the family and property.

The family has sold the property and their whereabouts are unknown. It's right for the public to be concerned about the safety of this child, especially considering her mother and family were murdered in cold blood a year ago shortly after her bio father had visited them.

It's reasonable for the public to be concerned about the safety of the child. LE needs to reassure the public that the child is safe and her location known to them.

In most cases like this (missing child/family, parent possible suspect in a murder investigation, etc.) a public search for the child would be launched. But then there's never been anything normal about this investigation.

Maybe horse poop? Quite possible that soil samples from a place other than the crime scenes was found at one or more of the crime scenes.

Keep in mind the AG was quoted as saying this investigation has uncovered previously unknown criminal activity in the area going back decades. JMO, it's about more than child custody, though that's part of the picture.

That's an interesting thought. Maybe not 4-wheelers but 4-leggers carried whomever to the Rhoden's!

Is the site still being searched?

Don't know. But for anyone interested, the Adam's County, OH police and fire scanner traffic is now being streamed on Broadcastify. They must have recently added it.

For those new here, there's a thread for scanner traffic discussions at this link

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sh...rent-Scanner-Alerts-7&p=13356995#post13356995

You have to be a registered member of WS to access the threads and nothing you hear "downstairs in the basement" can be discussed up here.

I'm thinking more likely that some of the soil or manure may have been on one of the killer's boots and samples left at one or more crime scenes. I can remember tracking stuff like that in when I was a kid.

I also think there is more than child custody involved, too and I think it is BIG. Hopefully, we'll know soon.

Child custody may have been one factor, but not the only one. Recall past speculation here about whether CRSr buying new home for DR and kids because of the issue of child custody and pressures. It could also be there were other reasons for bad blood between the W family or others they knew/did business with. They seem like a kind of powerful family in the area.

Do we know for certain there were no arrest warrants? I haven't seen anything confirming this, but may have missed it.

I remember in one of the first pressers, Sheriff Reader said to the perpetrators "we're coming". I hope he is able to make that promise come true - very soon. I really want this for the family and loved ones of the victims, but I also want it for LE who has worked on this, and especially for Sheriff Reader.
