Pike County GJ handed down indictment yesterday with DP specification.

Naming Wagners

After extensive investigation by locals and Ohio AG, now in custody.

Killed in homes, shot in cold blood, killers knew territory and planned.

Center of case is accusation the 4members of W family did this. Eight counts for each, death penalty specifications.

Won't say much about motive, but custody plays a role. Developed elaborate plan and carefully covered up tracks. Spent months planning. Studied habits, routines, layouts of homes. After killing, tampered with victims phones, surveillance cameras, etc. Mistakes were made. Gathering evidence all along. In July of this year judge impaneled GJ to gather all evidence and review it. Last piece of evidence was gathered and reviewed on Oct 30 this year.

All have led to today's charges and arrest. Charged with other offenses, conspiracy, aggravated burglary, tampering evidence, unauthorized use of property, interception of wire, etc. communications, obstruction of justice.

Also charged with forgery for forging child custody documents.

Angela and Billy's mother Fredericka are charged with misleading authorities.

Now thanking everyone.

2 others were arrested in regards to the cover up

Notes from Presser:

Attorney General speaking:

Yesterday grand jury indicted 4 Wagners with death penalty specifications

George "Billy" III, Angela, George IV, Edward "Jake" Wagner

Shows faces of victims on tv monitor. Names them all.

The killers knew the territory and planned massacre meticulously.

8 counts of aggravated murder each.

All 4 facing death penalty.

Because this is an open prosecution, can't say much about motive. Custody played a role.

Conspired to kill victims under cover of darkness and cover their tracks. Spent months planning the crime. Knew where they slept, and layouts of homes.

Suspects tampered with evidence, including phones and surveillance cameras.

Mistakes were made.

Gathering evidence for 2.5 years. In July of this year, judge impaneled grand jury.

Last piece of significant physical evidence was found on October 30 of this year.

A number of other offences: Conspiracy, pattern of corrupt activity, burglary, tampering with evidence, unlawful possession of a dangerous ordnance, interception of wire, obstruction of justice, forgery of child custody documents.

2 other people arrested for coverup, not for murders.

Angela's mother Rita, Billy's mother Fredericka Wagner.

Most complex and sophisticated operation in Ohio law enforcement history.

Yeah, he was:

Engaging in "corrupt" activity
Unlawful possession of some kind of ordinance?

Hopefully they will release copies to news media.

Still no explanation for why they went to such great expense and effort to block the release of final AR's to the news media.

BBM. I think a lot of people who know the Wagners will start talking now, since the family has been taken into custody.

Yeah, the TV reporter said that since the murders, NOBODY, would say a single word to them. They said that people would turn and run the other way when they even saw a reporter approaching.

Then they said, now, all of a sudden, they're talking.

I guess I can feel some forgiveness, so long as these folks were actually talking to the police, even though not to reporters. On the other hand, I wish one of them would have had the courage to say something. Now it just looks like...."oh yeah, we knew all along they were murderers, but just didn't want to say anything."

WOW, they finally arrested them! I knew when this family just up and moved to Alaska that they had something to hide. It will be interesting to hear why they did this. I feel like this goes deeper than just a custody dispute. Looking forward to more details on this. I hope the rest of the Rhoden family will get some sense of closure once justice is served.
Agree! Why massacre 8 over a child custody dispute...

Pike County murders: 4 arrests made in 2016 Rhoden family slayings

Live feed reporter saying the SWAT team and county sheriff vehicles are now leaving Flying W Farm. Doesn't sound like the search lasted very long.

Well, the murders happened 2 1/2 years ago. I would think that they would at least have been bright enough to get rid of any evidence long ago. Hasn't their property probably been searched already, since they were at least persons of interest?

I can see why anyone would be afraid to go on tv with a statement (a family of 8 was murdered, I would be fearful too) but hopefully it is that they were speaking to LE behind the scenes.

IMO
