Hi whatever,
It's the only rest area I could fund in Butler county right off of I-75. I'm not too good with maps but I bet he took the back roads till he got close to Springfield or Dayton area. If the rumor I heard is right, he possibly lived near DeGraff and or Quincy at one time. The rte I am looking at passes thru those towns. I'll try to post a map....wish me luck!

I find it hard to believe that he would not be noticed on those backroads. Most of the people on those backroads would be watching their traffic and aware the man is dangerous. I have traveled those back roads to and from Sidney and to Bellefontaine and to pick up 75 in Sidney and there are towns that he would still have to go through that are well-patrolled.

What really bothers me is that the focus points are on W.VA and that direction but something inside of me says to look the opposite directions. While S.L. hasn't proved to be predictable in many ways or shown himself to be smart, to show up in place where family is would be the most likely place to be caught. Gut instincts thinks he has gone through PA instead. I have read these posts over and over and read what media has released and I am inclined to believe the Russells have never left the area but this is only gut feelings. Too much baggage to deal with if he wanted to get well away from Bellefontaine.

I pray he is found soon!

Rumour Sam's father passed away 2007, in the Princeton, WV area.
It,s logical he'd run to an area he knows and feels comfortable in, where ever that may be.

I would think that since the car was spotted at the rest stop between 11:00 and 11:45 pm it would have been dark, while he was driving.

What was he doing from the time he left work early till the spotting of the vehicle?:banghead:

I thought someone said the landfills near Bellefonatine were being searched, but the news this morning said a Cinnicinati landfill. I wonder why?

Also, I don't not think the back roads are heavily patrolled. In one county there may only be 2 to 3 patrol cars on duty at a time - that's a lot of ground to cover. He also had a big head start to get out of dodge before anyone realized their car was missing initially.

I thought I first heard that landfills near Bellefontaine were to be searched too but then I can't find where I first read it except on here . It would have made sense to me but I am thinking from the implication of this statement LE have good reason to believe they are doing what they are doing in searching the R. Landfill in Cincy.

CINCINNATI — The FBI said that investigators will search the Rumpke landfill in Cincinnati on Monday in connection with the nationwide manhunt for a man charged in a fatal stabbing and suspected in the disappearance of a Logan County couple

While authorities said they have no information that anything connected to the case could be in the landfill, they said the trash containers at a rest stop along Interstate 75 in Butler County were emptied there on Thursday.

I agree whatever, I've traveled those roads and houses are few. Mostly farmland and small towns that rely on sheriff dept's to patrol.

Co Rd 31 to Rte 47 to Rte 235 to DeGraff. Very rural. At that point he had several options to get over onto I-75 or stay on 235 all the way to the Dayton area and access 75 frpm there. Just thinking outloud.

I just don't get cold blooded killer from this guy. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy who thinks about things before he does them. I feel he's frantic, running, in hiding. If he hasn't shot himself in the woods yet. I don't like it at all, but I have a feeling that is where this will end up, and so many people will go without answers.

I think he probably called the Russells and asked for a ride. Maybe even said he needed help and was in trouble. After so many years, I'm sure they had a decent relationship. Maybe they went to pick him up somewhere, and it was at that point that he took over.

HLN talking about this now

Thanks. I caught a blurb of it, which I think was from a vigil (looked to be anyway). Mom Neeley was there and said something to the effect of, "They had better find him before we do." She looked very angry.

according to family FB, viewing is tomorrow and service is on Wednesday for Tiffany.

No ID yet on man found dead in Butler Twp. woods

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office has not released the identity of the man who was found dead Saturday near Frederick Pike.

Police are releasing few details as they await autopsy results.

The body of a black man between 18 and 30 was found in a wooded area near 10100 Frederick Pike at 6 p.m. Saturday, according to Butler Twp. police. The man had been shot in the chest.

The body was discovered by someone who called police, but it's not know how long the body was there or how it got there per LE.

An autopsy has been done but results have not been released.

I dont have a link but the Cincinnati news just said that they are searching the landfill because the car was backed up to a dumpster when the trooper saw it at the rest area.

That's interesting...why are they just now reporting this critical piece of information?

SL just needs to give himself up right NOW! If family has actually seen or heard from him, they need to let authorities know. IMO

I don't get it. I am certain that I read earlier that nothing specific made them search the landfill. I still haven't found any information about whether or not anyone was actually in the car.

Littleton's father lives in Princeton, W. Va., 10 Investigates; Paul Aker reported.

Officials have searched for Littleton in the area near his father's home but said on Monday they have found no indication he is in that area.

I know that the news media has reported that Littleton has family in the Princeton, West Virginia area.

But has the news media ever said where in Tennessee that Littleton has family?
